Too many variables....

Some women fantasize about rape while others [who weren't sure if they liked the guy to begin with] half way through sex told them to stop and he didn't then try to cry rape.

Rape is Rape.

I always have a problem with this whole rape issue when i hear it. It's not that i dont believe it happens, i just believe its exaggerated. I'm in my mid 30's and of the women I've known and the topic has come up I can only think of 2 or 3 that havent claimed its happened to them... If your married its not rape unless theres a fair amount of blood. If it's just a fantasy you have it's not rape. If you get really drunk and wake up next to a guy and you dont really remember you wanted it it's not rape.. If you dont walk away from it badly bruised and likely bloody I don't buy it. Bruises take time to heal, weeks sometimes months. I just dont see many bruised up women walking around. How many men are going to get assulted like that and not fight it with their life? If he doesnt then i'd say hes got a secret fantasy of his own. I dont see why women would be any different. There will be marks not easily hidden, makeup or not...

Your definition of rape is skewed.

If a teenager goes to a party and passes out drunk then wakes up with her clothes off and has been pentrated while passed out she was not raped?

If a woman has a gun held to her head(no bruises) and forced to have sex, was she not raped?

If a teenager/child is threatened that harm will come to themselves/a loved one if the do not submit, is that not rape?

It matters not if someone takes $100 off Your coffee table or takes it by the use of a gun You are still the victim of theft.

It matters not if someone steals Your car out of a parking lot or takes it from You at the point of a gun You are still the victim of car theft.

We seem to have problems with the semantics of the definition of rape. If the definition of rape in this thread is Forcible rape then the numbers stated earlier may be a little high but if we define rape as a woman having sex against her will then they may very well be higher than most assume.

The best way to reduce rape incidents ?

Enact a new law that mandates the permanent removal of the male appendage of anyone convicted of rape... I guarantee you rape statistics would drop drastically overnight.

Sounds like a ridiculously harsh and violent punishment in a so-called "civil" society ?

I have this theory, that it would help if all the in-your-face pornography got toned down in this country. Then why do your leaders keep screaming at other nations to follow their stupidity and if they don't then invade them.Clearly it shows superiority of muslim nations or tribal societies where crimes is concerned.

If you american women don't like the american system ,then you can choose the true conservative christian or sharia system.But you don't like it too.Everything has its pros and cons.Massive crime and Rape levels is a con and byproduct of the violence of the american system.

We have witnessed this thread morph from a discussion of faulty, insane statistical data perpetrated on the public into a emotional reaction to the crime of Rape.

Rape is a Crime, it is a very serious crime that we as a society should punish the offender severely.

Child Rape is such a horrendous crime, it should be punishable by death.

But, on the other hand, the false acquisition of Rape should also be dealt with as harshly.

Nothing hurts the plight of the True victim of this horrendous act more than the false claim of the charge.

Getting drunk, going home with some guy and going too far with him IS NOT RAPE.

And calling it so just belittles the Real Victims that have experience the real Crime of Rape.

Stalinism has been described as being synonymous with totalitarianism, or a tyrannical regime. The term has been used to describe regimes that fight political dissent through violence, imprisonment, and killings.

You're wrong, It may not be tolerated from the general public but the Government uses it to further it's own ends.

I'll take my chances with being able to avoid/prevent rape against myself/family in current US society over any Totalitarian regime where the State uses it as a punishment/deterrent under the color of Law.

Ive personally witnessed that very thing and the resulting investigation which lead to the discovery of the bogus claim.

For every possibility regardless of how far fetched or insane there are minds out there working in just that way.

People cut themselves all the time for attention. Why not cry "wolf" for it? Everybody loves pity and the media turns victims into heroes everyday.

Your title is completely misleading. More than 20% of women in the US are not raped, they have experienced partner violence. I do not condone any of this but the title is misleading.
