I Feel Like I Cheated

So, after I went through ATS panic and withdrawal during our four days of darkness due to some owner credit card snafu...I went Rogue and visited another site for a few days.

I liked it there and there were many familiar ATS faces.
The place was designed and managed very well...and the owner was not an absentee landlord. She's a spunky lady with a passion and a hands-on approach to her site.

I really enjoyed my time there and even noticed many of my ATS faves have decided to stay there exclusively.

Then ATS came back online...and I came back.
It was underwhelming...smelled stale and felt like ATS would echo if you dropped a wrench in it.

Nevertheless, I threw myself back into it...and immediately posted a new thread I was thinking of doing for a while and one I was excited about posting and sharing.

For the first day the thread garnered a lot of interest, participation and good discussion.

Today, I found it had been trashed with no explanation.
That really pissed me off.
REALLY pissed me off.
I asked why.
Still no response from the mod who trashed my thread.

Absolutely no personal experience to draw from...but it feels like I went to a convention in Vegas...met up with a hot sexy lady for several days of fun, good sex and top shelf booze, saw all the shows, stayed at Bellagio...then came home to a scowling wife, waiting at the front door in a ratty bathrobe...and holding a rolling pin.

Sure...I feel a little guilty for enjoying myself so much while neglecting the old ball and chain...but I guess I've invested a lot of years into this ATS relationship...and I guess I'm a faithful kind of guy.

But I'm still keeping the Vegas babe's number in my wallet.

As someone who has never been to Vegas, not even over the past weekend with you and Imposter DB, I don't think it's wrong to participate in various forums.

I'm keeping my account over there and will post, maybe not as much as I have here, but I'll participate. I found that everyone was pretty chill and I want to repay their hospitality with my extremely low quality level contributions.

Everyone has to make up their own mind about life but it is worthwhile to examine why you care about the attention your online threads get and why someone deletes them.

I care about anything I take the time and effort to create and share...whether it is at work or here.

Some people call it taking pride in what you do.

It seems that I've really gone down the rabbit hole with this one.

I've just realized that I'm discussing conspiracy theories about a conspiracy website that mysteriously went off line. It's like hitting rock bottom with an addiction. It's like waking up in an alleyway, hung over, after you pissed your pants and can't remember what happened the night before.

God I feel so dirty now, like I need rehab or something.

But Damn It! I can't help myself!

For me, it's more like ATS is the work place and R-N3 is like the bar I go to before heading home after work. Sometimes I call in sick to work and go to the bar instead.

It took me years to figure out how to navigate this place, I tried one of the "other" places for about five minutes. I'm too old and lazy to start over, if this place dies I'll probably just let the daily propaganda wash over me until I'm just another NPC. Then I'll die and that will be it.

I didn't run after you cheating bast**d's, but most everything I've heard about the other woman has been good. If the old ball and chain hadn't shut down on you for a few days, you might never have taken that trip to Vegas...

As someone who also took the week away from the "wife" to explore a bit, I found "Vegas" hospitable and a nice relaxing break from the constant back and forth here. It was a nice reprieve and I will probably sneak away from time to time to bask in the warm glow we found there. For now, however, there is no place like home.
