Facebook will be restored soon
Facebook is currently under maintenance. It will be available again in a few minutes. Until then, see here for why you see this message. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Bing was temp effected also when you searched for your first search after coming online. At least in Tokyo it was that way.

As reported first at 10am there was a Whistle Blower.
Then they said an employee did some "update" thus causing this huge issue.

I'm telling you, sometimes the biggest things happen not maliciously but someone just not knowing what they are doing.
I've seen it so many times.
Maybe FB couldn't find enough workers πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

**Highlights for effectiveness***
Aren't FB and Gaagle making some employees work ftom home? You could be on to something there.πŸ€”πŸ˜Š

INSTAGRAMMY IS BACK πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΏπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸŽΆπŸŽ΅πŸŽΆπŸŽ΅

Strange, I unlocked it and it won't playπŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€” but if I hit the Play icon, it plays.

BAZINGA!!!!!! AAAAaaaaaaaaaargh... it won't work😀.
SORRY FOLKS, HAD TO DELETE

When was the last time it was down for 6 hours and counting? I remember it going down for 30 minutes once and Zuckernerd issuing an apology for the millions of distraught teeny-boppers who were traumatized by the boondoggle.

Well, more info has come out by now, eh?

It appears that what is going on goes beyond the typical as far as facebook is concerned. Up to and including possible issues with their physical buildings.

But, relatively widespread outages are not uncommon and there were several instances of it just last year. Which is what I was referencing, and it does indeed happen more often than people seem to remember. I dont think they have apologized for things like 30 minute outages in years, but I dont follow their PR that closely either. Its all pretty much the epitome of the "Were Sorry" South Park stuff.

I would say something about "this is what happens with centralized information channels" and stuff.

I mean.. hopefully folks at least remember the massive twitter hack last year when all blue checkmarks were locked down. Some of the memes were pretty good, if nothing else!

Admittedly, I dont actually use facebook and the situation amuses me greatly, so there is that too

FaceBook is a massive Social Media site in fact it is " The Social Media site " , it has billions of users and Who knows how many warehouses of servers to keep it rolling . It has billions of moving parts and "unknown" number of employees to keep in functioning , not to mention I'm sure a few disgruntled former employees who can back door the site if they so choose.

What I'm saying is it's a miracle that Facebook does not Crash more often than it does .

Its a crash it happens , it does not mean China is about to nuke Taiwan .

I'm not being Rude I'm being realistic , so maybe grow up??

Yeah, I highly doubt that. Tens of thousands maybe. Certainly not millions.

My "input" was that you incorrectly stated that there were "millions" of employees at Facebook.
I don't care for Facebook at all. In fact I disabled my account in 2012.

Nonetheless, thank you for you courtesy and corrective edit. Much appreciated.

Ha, they sure hit it big with her donations. Seriously her little piddling 2000 bucks over five years didn't even buy lunch for their staffers, let alone help to push AOC's and crew 's agenda.

Now does she want to be a socialist? Could be and more than likely is a woke little biddy, but she's hardly a big player player in the game.

Pretty sure zero people expected a Facebook employee "whistle-blower" to be a major player as you put it.

But it's pretty damn obvious this is a half assed psy-op.

See my initial post in this thread :

I agree.

Her complaint is that Facebook doesn't sensor enough and she wants the govt. to step in and enforce more stringent sensoring.

My guess is we'll find out she has ties to some leftist PAC.

Word is that this is just a practice run.

... because it would be too obvious to have the entire internet go down when information rolls out.... such as more Durham arrest warrants, or Georgia voter fraud facts, beyond the 17,000 ballots dropped by 24 people in a zuckerberg drop box on film.

Yahtzee ...

www.theregister.com...

How could a company of Facebook’s scale get BGP wrong? An early candidate is that aforementioned peering automation gone bad. The astoundingly profitable internet giant hailed the software as a triumph because it saved a single network administrator over eight hours of work each week.

I wonder how many people looked up from their phones for the first time in a decade?

These outages should happen for one whole day every week to force people to communicate in the flesh and appreciate their physical surroundings. It's a crazy, new idea, but how about Sundays?
