It looks like those wallets have been empty since April of 2018..
As far as recovery, it depends on a lot of factors. Right now the FBI and the RCMP are investigating, insurance may cover the losses, but that depends
on whether crypto assets are insurable under Canadian law. Having a criminal probe into the situation helps but that is only assuredly true in the US.
I know little of Canadian finance and insurance law regarding crypto.
Just remember this:
If you dont hold your keys, it's not your crypto. If you hold your keys it's your crypto. If you dont hold your keys, you're going to get robbed.
