I don't get the anger

Republican core ideals is based around small gov't and less regulations.

However, within the last 5 decades the GOP (republican party) endorsed candidates have all talked like republicans but have acted like democrats.

The internet has exposed many of the hypocrisies and B$ of the republicans party.

They talk about small gov't being ideal . but then they go full retard and just about piss on everything they claim to believe in by :

1. Creating big gov't when they created Homeland security.

2. Created big govt when they took away your privacy and created the patriot act.

3. They took away state rights and sided with big gov't, by making it illegal for a state to decide how to label GMO products.

4. They wen't against the free market and decide to pick the winners and losers of the market when they started the bailouts.

5. They made issue number 1 in the last election OBAMACARE , then they go and select the one guy who not only created Obamacare 1.0 , but actually praised how will it worked for his state.

6. They have never deregulated anything of significance for the benefit of the masses only for the Oligarch.

As of recent when they went to deregulate something it was against the benefit of the masses which was net neutrality. Net neutrality principles were in place since the inception of the internet and was what allowed the internet to become what it is today.

Luckily for the masses we had two oligopolies that had contradicting business models fight eachother. In the end the Oligopoly (google,amazon,netflix) that won luckily had a business model that was more in tune with the best interest of the public: Fast ,cheap,reliable internet , not because they care but because they need those things to make MORE money.

7. They talk about taxes and how horrible taxes are , but when was the last time the republicans cut taxes to any significant level.


So basically their is anger because the people are finally waking up to the fact that the DNC and the GOP are just car salesman and they are taking opposite roles to play good cop-bad cop but they both want the same thing.

The Democrats are not better by the way , hence you have Bernie Sanders as their F U guy to the DNC.

I thought American ATS members were concerned with the impact of lobbyists and big money influencing their politics. The one guy who comes along and says he will deal with it. Is going to lose out to a guy who condones and participates in it. That's what I find crazy

Could it be, democrats are voting for him in the primaries so he is up against one of the competent democratic candidates and they win by a landslide?

ATS member line of thinking especially when it comes to politics , is by far the minority representation of the American public.

The majority are aware that all politicians are crooks and bought and paid for by the lobbyist.

However, they are to easily distracted by the DNC,GOP, and the MSM, because the DNC,GOP, and the MSM never focuses on corruption they only focus on the symptoms of corruption.

How is our military weaker or weakened under Obama? We spend more money on the military than any other nation, and there's no close second place. If anything, the military budget needs to be cut and wars, airstrikes, and regime changes need to end.

Trump is popular because he's taking his knowledge of reality TV and applying it to his campaign. Americans love trash TV and that's what he brings them, trash.

I would have to disagree with that assessment.

Its not irrational to question a guys motive that has been part of the system and that continues to benefit from the current system , to all the sudden get a change of heart and claim that he wants to fix it.

He has made billions on the current system , so you have to question why would a Guy who loves to say how much he is worth change the system that is making him all that money?

He also failed the political litmus test when it comes to immigration:

You can stop immigration overnight by prosecuting the American companies that are hiring illegals. which is giving the illegals the incentive to come here.If American companies stop hiring them then the majority of illegals will stop coming here. Just like their is no issue on the Canadian borders nor any WALL, Canadians have no incentive to come here an work for slave labor . Hence they don't come here illegally in masses.

Secondly , three of the largest lobbyist and offenders of illegal immigration are the agriculture industry, hospitality, and the construction industries which trump has ties with. Those industries benefit from cheap slave labor and would collapse overnight if they couldn't get away with cheap silent slave labor.


Thirdly, Our economy is to embedded with foreign cheap illegal immigrants to stop it , without extremely impacting our economy.

So either trump is to naive to see the real issue with immigration and how to stop it, or he has other motives? Like building a wall that will take billions to build and maintain and he just so happens to be in the build / developer industries with connections.

So yeah, I think their are some valid arguments to question his motives and fear what his real intentions are. I could go on and on on things to question trump on, but I think a rational person could see from above why one might be skeptical of trumps motives.

The one thing I hope for out of this is a stronger military.

Other than the typical GOP propaganda (Romney was saying the same thing 4 years ago), what you makes you believe that our military needs to be strengthened? I'm just curious.

Our "defense" budget in 2015 was twice what it was in 2000. In terms of percentage of the total budget, it's just about the same percentage now as then.



We're spending more and more and more on a war machine to fight wars the results of which have been what? A whole new set of "threats" that require even more money for us to feel "safe."

This is a classic con and we're all the suckers.
