New Server Questions and Issues

With the launch of the new server, there will certainly be some missing items and late-cutover of some services... mainly because of the massive site of ATS and long-list of custom code. Use this thread to report any problems you discover.

You can't get into chat!!! The link to chat only brigns up a blank page now.... and you can't click the smilies and make them show up in posts.

You can still manually enter the Smilies....

the smileys arent working for me, thats the least of my problems, though.

Well... looks like the new server is up and running.


My firewall needed to be set to accept cookies from 70.85.38.54
I assume that's the new server address and not something else?

My mini-profile seems to have a problems with accented (french) characters. Worked fine before.

Also, the emoticons don't automatically get inserted when they are clicked on while writting up a post.

That's what I've noticed so far...

oh!... and the speed of page loads!

Using some of our ats account webspace to host images at ID, what are the new url's to use to associate with these stored images at ats now.

Politics and ATSNN seem the same as before.

The FAQ button brings up a 404...

Some images are missing... Smirkley's ring-bearer image for example

as well as the "You are viewing..." box at the top of ATSNN threads.

just a few little things, under the MyATS button, the little arrows that let us move around our subscribed forums up and down are missing, they are just little indented rectangles, And when I click the MyRecent button, none of the forum pictures are showing up next to the threads. I also still don't see the "designer" buttons up top next to the main tabs, (although i havn't seen them for a while)
The inserting of the smiles works now!!
none of these are huge issues, nothing i can't live without, Im just happy to have ATS back up and running,
and by the way, that picture that was up, during the server switch, i almost fell out of my chair laughing, lol, It is definatly not what i was expecting!!

it doesnt say "abovetopsecret.com/forum" up top, it says the IP address now.

I click the Below Top Secret button and it takes me to the ATS main page. I can still access BTS by going to below.abovetopsecret.com.... Is that permanent?

If so... that'd be REALLY inconvienient... and weird... but, do whatever is best for ATS.

Webmail is not transitioning to the new server, and neither are the blogs. I don't yet know why the blogs aren't functioning... looking into it.

BTS works fine for me: 70.85.38.55...

I'm having a little difficulty uploading. I keep getting this error message.
Somebody please help the technically inept vagabond?

ACTUALLY, now that I look at the error.. it seems that the upload file is missing. I think it's been changed and that's why the URL's for the uploads have changed, also. atsupload.php must have been relocated to the "uploads" folder or whatever it is that uploads.abovetopsecret is located. In the error above, it says /forum/atsupload.php. In the old link format, it used to include the /forum. It's a simple error... all SO has to do is relink the upload system to find the new location of atsupload.php and it should be fine...

files.abovetopsecret.com... will be the new link when you can upload again.
