2 million bikers are planning a motorcycle rally in Washington D.C. to coincide with the Million Muslim March, and it’s all happening on the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The National Park Services have denied the permit to the riders, who are planning a ride-only event, due to disruption and resource management concerns.

2 Million Bikers Head to D.C. for 9/11

I did a search and nothing came up. If there is a topic on this already, please remove.

There's bikers coming from all over the country converging on Washington, D.C. to represent Americans on 9/11. This rally also coincides with a "Million Muslim March" scheduled to take place on 9/11 in D.C.

I have to say I'm proud of these Americans for taking the time off from work and family to represent the victims of 9/11. Also, they asked for a permit and were denied by the Park Service in D.C. but the Muslim March was approved. Has anyone heard of this?

There is a thread on this already but I can't find it either. From what I heard this is in response to the Muslim March but neither has garnered much support that I have seen.

That's awesome! I've been looking for updates at how many people showed up but they're hard to find as the regular news outlets are not covering it too much.

" 2 million bikers rally " - actual attendance 5000 [ munkie estimate ]

PS - my assessment for the " million muslims march " is even more scathing - attendance 2000 [ estimate ]

I forsee that the muslims will ppossibly be outnumbered by police - and certainly by counter demonstrators

Thanks,

Great how the cops are helping them out the entire way, too. Already up to 129K Likes. Hopefully everything goes smooth tomorrow and no one gets hurt and it's a peaceful rally.

Got a friend who just checked in on the trip, this trip was planned to honor those of 9/11...

The Muslim March got the permit to proceed in their efforts and the Bike Riders were denied a permit to honor the victims of 9/11.

As the Biker Brothers ride into Washington DC, I hope they are loud and proud if they get close to the Muslim March... and whoever authorized that Muslim March permit on 9/11 needs to be exiled out of this country... this just does not make any sense considering what happened on this day 12 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I all for Constitutional Rights, and I know not all Muslim's are radical, but this just seems like a slap in the face considering what happened on 9/11

I have some friends headed down from Boston who should be arriving there early morning. I hope the patrol officers on duty tomorrow don't harass the masses and try ticketing the bikers for whatever violations they can. On the other hand, I hope the bikers that go can keep their cool and have a peaceful but loud and roaring pass through the streets of DC. Anybody who really needs to drive in DC tomorrow, Motorcycles truly will be everywhere, be super cautious around them and patient when you need to find openings in a line of them.

The Million Muslim march is really a 911 was an inside job march. It has no support among the Muslim groups just the 911 nutters that started it. They will be lucky to have a few hundred show up.

You guys know that the "Million Muslim March" is actually called the "Million American March" and is being hosted by the American Muslim Political Action Committee, right?

AMPAC - The American Muslim Political Action Committee AMPAC in cooperation and solidarity with MANDAA - Movement Against the National Defense Authorization Act, NDPAAC - National Democratic Party Asian American Caucus, NYDPAAC - New York Democratic Party Asian American Caucus, NABAB - North American Bangladeshi Association for Bangladesh, MDPAAC - Missouri Democratic Party Asian American Caucus, CLA - Community Leadership Affairs, SACC - South Asian Chamber of Commerce, Mosque Care, DC Area 9/11 Truth Movement ,A&E - Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth Movement, MMAT - Muslim Marching Against Terrorism, MD Rabbi Alam - the Founder of AMPAC, Richard Gage - the Founder of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth Movement, Dr. Kevin Barrett - the National Spokesperson for Muslim Think Tank, and The March Against Drones (MAD) will be gathering on the National Mall, and then launching a march on the halls of power.

Who twisted it? The media, of course.

It was originally called the "Milion Muslim March" and renamed after complaints.

The American Muslim Political Action Committee has come under fire for scheduling the march on the anniversary of 9/11, as well as for the original name of the event. The group changed the name to the Million American March Against Fear in an effort to address concerns, but organizers feel that Wednesday is still the right date.

“The main reason for changing the focus of the event was that many non-Muslims expressed interest in participating,” Barrett said. “Some of us also recognized that calling it a ‘Muslim’ event could prove divisive and that it would be better to be inclusive, and try to bring all Americans together to defend the Constitution and oppose the politics of fear.”

From the link you gave. If you note, what they said is actually true considering that so many other groups are involved with it. They did originally name it the Million Muslim March; however, they invited others to join them in solidarity against the attack on civil rights for all Americans and the culture of fear that has been persistently perpetuated over the last 12 years.

I'm not saying it's wrong for them to do this, but I think the date was just a bad time to do it. They have to realize we're fighting wars against Muslims all over the globe (which I don't agree with) and they petitioned for a Mosque near Ground Zero, and got it, soon after the attack. Initially naming it the "Million Muslim March" and having it on 9/11 is not very respectful of the people who lost their lives on that day. They should have named it something that included everyone if that was the message they intended to send.
