He apparently lived in Sweden and spoke Swedish in this life, so no, past lives are not necessary for this to be true.

He could very well have taken his alias from an old friend in Sweden. There are currently listed 11 Johan Eks on the swedish yellowpages who live in- or around Stockholm.

I was curious how good Swedish he had, but I can only find one video with a female translator speaking over him because Americans apparently cant read subtitles. Bah!

I mean if he was speaking 18th century Swedish I might believe in past lives but all I can hear is a low "borkborkborkborkborkbork" behind all that fabulous American.

Anyone know of an untranslated video?

At around 0:12 we hear a little of how he speaks.
"Vet nånting om..." = "Knows something about..."

He doesn't have any discernible swedish dialect and his accent is just slightly english (surprisingly subtle, actually); so he's not experiencing a past life but most likely speaks swedish as he spoke when he was a young man studying in Stockholm.

Sounds like ancestral memories coming out there. Generations ago many Europeans will of had Norse, Germanic, and or Slavic ancestry. Sometimes it takes strange sleeping and it comes out in unexpected ways.

It strikes you as more reasonable that his ancestral genes did it, rather than that he regressed to the time when he learned/spoke swedish while studying in Stockholm? Johan Ek is a perfectly normal name in Sweden and he could've projected it onto himself from a strong memory of someone with that name.

It's fun to go outside the box, though, I admit.
