Reading this thread, I will assume that you went to the hospital complaining of low back pain. They told you to go elsewhere to get a lumbar X-ray
(which makes no sense, every hospital has X-ray. I have a tiny clinic, and I have my own X-ray machine!), so you went to a pain management guy with
your sister in tow. She saw him first, raised some red flags, you saw him next, raised some more red flags, admitted that you were an addict by
signing a narcotic contract, and are now pissed off about your treatment and current pain level. Did I summarize that correctly?
Being in the medical profession, I can tell you that if a hospital told you to go elsewhere for an X-ray, then they lied. I can only see them doing
that because something that you said or did raised red flags. They don't want narcotic chasers in the ER. That's why ER's are getting so weird
about giving out pain meds. Then you made the mistake of going to a walk in pain clinic - a place where pill poppers flock to for strong narcotics,
and then you compounded the mistake by going to a pain clinic with your sister, who by all accounts, doesn't present the best image. It is highly
unusual for someone in incredible pain to make a doctors appointment with another individual. That alone told the doc that the two of you were likely
pill shopping. Then you admitted to taking narcotic use/history and signed a contract. So now they have written verification from you that you
have/had a drug problem.
If you are in serious pain, you need to see an orthopedic specialist and have them evaluate your hardware. Tell them that you went to the hospital
and pain clinic, and that they minimized your concerns and never looked to see if you could be having post surgical complications. Don't sign any
more contracts, and don't pour out your life story to every doc. Thanks to obamacare, medical info should be kept to a need-to-know basis. Don't
lie, but don't divulge this chaotic mess or you just look like a nut. When it comes to doctors, keep it chronological and simple. They have 5
minutes tops to spend with you. Make them count and let them know what you want them to do for you. Heaven forbid, don't take your sizer or anyone
else to your appointments.
