hey don't have ICBMs capable of carrying a nuclear device. Bluffing, and wanting an immediate ass kicking by the looks of it.

we (ordinary people) have no idea what they have or don't have. i find it highly suspicious that their missile test earlier exploded, and it isn't unfeasible to think that we took it out with a laser.

furthermore, their aggressive rhetoric is extreme, even for north korea. usually they leave themselves a way out, but "we're going to nuke you" doesn't have many loopholes.

i think they're being supplied by either russia or china on the condition that they stir up trouble.

That laser would have been where? space? Ahh yes, but that would break the treaty not to weaponize space.

I don't think this is just about NK though, more like NK is the bait for something alot bigger

That's what I fear too, hence my post earlier about NK punching way above its weight. It does beg the question, why? They can't be THAT stupid, right?

As for China;
It is only a matter of time before the Chinese people revolt against their regime and demand democracy. The regime know it's on the cards. Again, there is a rich Elite with close connections to the Party, whilst the majority struggle. With the influx of technology we in the West take for granted, a revolt is getting closer. Civil unrest is an increasing issue to those in charge. They want to protect their regime and grip on power.

We know how China and NK care for their own people.

Yeah, i mean I know they aren't capable of building a bomb like that, but if they could modify a plane like Russia did for that bomb than they might be able to drop one of their ugly low yield monstrosities in the same fashion. It wouldn't be efficient or practical and probably be shot out of the sky.. but it's possible.

Anything is possible, I'm not trying to come off as a smart ass, or shoot down all the possibilities because, it's entirely possible. I'm just saying given the evidence available I do not believe NK has the logistics or capabilities to do it.

I don't know enough about the Korean Airforce to say what they could or could not deliver, as far as using the test device as a weapon though, it's a stretch. It could be done, but I think it's a stretch.

You bring up many valid points, and I'm not trying to be a dick I just sort of realized I'm saying very " Matter of fact" things, where I should be presenting the evidence. These are my opinions based on the available information and data.

Okay, I seriously need to get to bed, the misses just came and gave me the death stare ha ha.

Silently and behind the scenes the little boy is loosing control

He's young, inexperienced and his people are in worse shape than ever.

More people know everyday, it's a modern world he's on the border of China and South Korea... rumors of south Korea get inside, people who have seen first hand wealth, K-pop, beauty, art... walk among his people

The science to build bombs comes with a price... education, those who build NK's toys have been to the west and the east, seen the Internet

His upper echelon knows he's not a god and watch people eat children to survive while south of the border the women are gorgeous the food is fantastic....

He's desperate

His reign will be short

he's a child and our spies know this.... they take advantage and spread the truth

His days are numbered.... all he needs to do is TRY to hit Seoul and it's over, The south koreans have exercised soft power Well... they are loved in America, in Japan in Russia and in China....even China can not rationalize support of the North to a population that listens to South Korean music every day, watches their TV shows.... too many will MOURN

This kid is screwed and he knows it....

I posted this in another thread but what i would bet we will see is
china forcing a stand down, they may well even threaten to use
military force if he does not, but i feel it may well be more than
enough should they do so.

Now its hard to say if that will bring things back to the status quo
or if it will bring big changes, who knows.

since when have we listened to any treaties? not too long ago we launched an unmanned spacecraft thats purpose was top secret. it is about the size of a regular shuttle, and all they would say was that they were "conducting experiments" with it. they've done it once before and kept the thing up for almost a year.

the cold war isn't really over, and from the U.S.'s perspective russia and china aren't going to play by the rules, they're more a formality to make the populace comfortable.

we've been using tons of "illegal" weapons in the middle east for a long time.

also, it wouldn't actually have to be in space (though it's possible). there were plans awhile ago to put them on planes to intercept ICBM's, and i'm sure we have aircraft that could evade detection by north korea.

Hopefully ill get to kill some North Koreans. Lets see how they bleed. We need to make sure their blood is red.

I'm willing to fight, I just hate having a commander and chief that hasn't mobilized us yet, freakin coward. I can't believe he lets North Korea threaten us like this.

With the very greatest of respect, a military man like yourself should be hoping for peace - not lusting for violence. Spilling NK blood might be a tempting prospect, but don't forget that most of those men are conscripts indoctrinated to a degree Western minds can't really comprehend. Hell, any human mind!

If they knew what the world was really like, 99% of them wouldn't want their tiny, backwards country attracting the ire of the world's biggest powers just for their leaders to engage in a bit of dick swinging. Remember - the North Korean government is as much the enemy of it's own people as it is the rest of the world.

Anyhow, if you do end up being deployed - stay safe, and take lots of photos!

Peace.

To the people saying they don't have the technology, I beg to differ. Don't believe American media when they said they're years away from perfecting the technology, they are actively trading directly with Iran and other capable nations who have built successful delivery systems in the past.

Trust me, If they had the capability, the US would have taken them out already. This is one area where the US doesn't lie.

DPRK may not be capable of hitting the USA with an ICBM but they are indeed capable of setting up a atomic or dirty bomb in one of our major population centers.

Wrong if the US thought they could take out NK and get away with it, they would have don it a long time ago.

The US cant attack NK unles China and Russia give the green light. The US cant even bomb Syria even though they are on their knees bagging Russia.

Didn't they put one on the shore of Alaska? I thought some years back they launched and ICBM and it skipped on the ocean and landed in Alaska.

I'm curious, at what point is it okay to preemptively strike on a threat of preemptive strike?

ICBM != long range missile.

NK does not possess ICBM capabilities.

Thread title == fail.

SEOUL, March 8 (Yonhap) -- A North Korean general said Thursday that the country has placed long-range missiles armed with nuclear warheads on standby, as Pyongyang said it will not bow to the United Nations resolution condemning its latest atomic weapons test.

According to the Rodong Sinmun, an organ of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), Colonel General Kang Pyo-yong said soldiers are already positioned to launch a war of reunification if the order is given by its leaders. The paper said the general made clear at a speech given at a rally in Pyongyang that intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and other rockets capable of attacking pre-set targets have been armed with various types of atomic warheads.

No worries. The U.S. has the technology to intercept and prematurely detonate anything NK launches at this point. NK will then be humiliated and embarassed into submission in front of the international community, which to them will be worse than any sanction.

I really hope that Socialism in North Korea completely collapses within my lifetime, hopefully sooner than later. I can't wait for the North Koreans to be able to wake up to the rest of the world and become free to travel, have freedom of the press, freedom of expression, etc. etc. It will be such a culture shock to them. Wait till they get a load of the internet.

Just to clarify, North Korea is not a communist or Socialist State, it is closer to state capitalism, as the state not the people, controls production, in fact I would go as far as saying it was a feudal kingdom, as the leader directly inherits rule as a king or queen would. Kim Jong Ill had all references to socialism and Communism removed from official North korean literature. To be honest though they'd be giving up one terrible regime, for our corrupt western crony capitalist regime, tough choice. Time after time, people attack socialism and don't even know what it entails, You can't blame Karl Marx for North Koreas politics, it's like blaming Jesus Christ for the Spanish Inquisition.

OK maybe they don't have long range missile's, but I am quite positive they can reach their neighbors SK and Japan. I am surprised nobody even considered how many American Troops we have over there in those two parts of the world. I would say 35000 plus. It would sure suck for our boys and girls over there if that Maniac decides to do something crazy.

A lot of people can be killed if he decides to lob a nuke over to south Korea or Japan. Because you can bet ur ass a military base would be a prime target.
