You gotta love the british with their know-it-all self-centered, patronising, immaturish attitude. People 40 years old playing with airguns and cod. I thought that was kids up to 18 years old? Adults should be mature enough to act like adults with real guns. If you have a criminal history or are mentally unstable then obviously you should be denied any firearm.

This is getting horribly sick. People are dying at schools and the government is quick to capitalise to the victim's misfortune. Obviously the government and UN have an agenda to make people paranoid of guns and eventually ban them. I mean first they regulate(when the second amendment says no infringement), then they over-regulate, then they ban. Tell me there are no false flag operations going on and I have a bridge on mars to sell you. MK-ULTRA was a cia operation and I believe some people are being called on to go on unvoluntary missions via implanted ideas.

I am going to try very hard not to be rude, but would the OP or anyone else on this thread who thinks gun control will solve our problems, please tell me exactly how these evil guns got up and forced this mentally ill shooter to take this heinous action. Then tell me EXACTLY how NOT having guns will cure his insanity.

How in heaven's name do you equate gun legislation with curing insanity?

I do not equate curing insanity with gun legislation. I said gun legislation will not cure insanity or any other social evil. The root of the problem is people oriented. We have throughout our history as a species demonstrated our willingness to committ acts of violence against our fellow humans. We will do so with whatever is at hand and if nothing is at hand we will likely use our hands. I do not think Abel was killed with a Glock 40 or an AR 15, but with a rock. Gun control "logic" would dictate that we should have banned rocks and all these problems would not now exist.
To further clarify, Gun Control Legislation does NOTHING to cure insanity or any other societal ills.
Sorry if I confused you.

Man.

I don't know what some of you people DO NOT UNDERSTAND. I think some of you people just make yourselves feel better by spouting off that America needs to ban guns.

The government can "try" to ban guns. It won't work.

America is not like Canada, or Britain or Australia, where when the government announced a decree on banning weapons, people (not all but a lot of them) just lined up like lemmings. "Well, the government said I can't have this pistol or shotgun anymore, I guess I better go down to the local constable and turn them in."

That will never happen here. Americans will tell the US government where they can stick their gun ban idea. Right up it's behind.

Look at it this way. America is a nation of what, 300+ million people? And there are at least that many or more guns in circulation. What is the government going to do, go house to house on 300 million people looking for weapons? That would take mind boggling manpower and 500 years to accomplish.

And they can look up the registration forms of gun owners and pay a visit to confiscate guns, but they will never find them. They make quite nice capsules for storage of guns or other items that are weatherproof and can be buried at the location of your choosing.

So some of the hysterical people in the media and on here can wring their hands and say we need to ban or severely restrict guns, but they aren't getting mine. I'll be damned if I have to give anything up because some nutcase shot some people. A tragedy for sure, but I'm not a psychopath.

And I think that's the case with most gun owners in America.

Perhaps they should ban the violent video games.

Those who propose banning guns are short sighted and void of critical thinking.

The right to bear arms is in the constitution to prevent a tyranical government.

God was taken out of the schools and now we are seeing the results. The current potus is trying to take God out of our country. What is the idiot thinking?

America is a Violent Armed Society.

American people will not give up their guns. They are happy to let a few dozen kids be brutally murdered every so often if it means they can still carry guns. If they were not happy with this they would surrender their weapons.

You know why they need their guns? They are cowards. They live their life in fear. No men left in America. All cowards living behind a gun and excuses. Cowards.

They refuse to move. You can only take their guns from 'their cold dead hands' They GUN INDUSTRY has them all brainwashed. Its time to give up on America.

How can people live in a society and send their kids to school or a cinema and not know if they will be brutally murdered.

They are too scared to try and change. All the rest of the world can do is sit back and watch the country disintegrate.

There may have only been 27 people killed in this attack but america doesn't even realize how much this is screwing up the whole of their society mentally.

All it will take is a few of these tragic incidents to happen close together and it will push them over the edge. The whole society will fall apart and they will all end up running around shooting each other.

They are on the brink.

If a terrorist attack instigated by another country killed 20 American kids America would be bombing the crap out of that very country right now killing thousands of innocent people in retaliation. When this is how they behave in other countries what the hell do they expect from their own citizens.

As I am typing this and listening to the news in the background I am hearing about another unstable person running around a hospital in America trying to kill people.

Where is the outrage for the children and women who are abused, starved to death or are murdered each day in Africa. Bet it is more than 20 a day. It's also at the barrel of a gun.

Similarly Europe is lazy and spoiled. You know why they won't give up excessive workers rights and social welfare, because they don't like to work and are all lazy....

they see their economies tanking and children starving and going without basic necessitates but since their leisure is more important to them, they act recklessly rather than adapt and work more for less.

They don't want to change their laws and accept the reforms that austerity measures have attempted by violently resisting law enforcement. Taking their capitals under siege by unlawful trespassers...

see how stupid that sounds. That is you to me.

You don't get it. Your "concern" for our gun rights is about as honest as my concern for your big business closing up shop tomorrow.

You don't actually care. You just don't like Americans and since this is a sacred issue of our constitutions validity, in light of an unprecedented loss of freedoms protected under it, it is a big deal to us, and so you take the opposition. In a similar manner we could all side with your respective governments making you lose all your benefits and social welfare that your people fought long and hard for. Our people fought long and hard to break the monopoly over the use of force that "authority" has. You don't think it is important since you do fine without gun rights. We don't think your problems are important since we do fine without massive social welfare and workers rights.

You don't want to be like us, WHY should we want to be like you?

You don't actually like Americans, so why feign concern over our safety. You just take a tragedy like this to voice your BS opinion about us.

Insanity is NOT the root cause of these mass killings. Those with serious psychiatric diagnoses are much LESS likely to harm other people than the general population.

The gun lobby in the US is way too powerful and their marketing clichés becoming tediously over used (especially on this forum and especially today).

The most ridiculous solution I've read being that this wouldn't have happened if the teachers had been armed too.....that's great until an armed, stressed,l frustrated and depressed teacher decides to turn their weapon on their class.

Or US citizens are armed to protect themselves from renegade government.....please. What you going to do against that drone?

Or to protect your freedoms? Ha....the US has THE most penalised citizenry in the developed world.

My ex was from Baltimore....he told me that if more US citizens travelled (in particular to Europe) they would be absolutely furious. The lie that the US way of life is the envy of the world would be exposed to them. The lie that US citizens have a superior quality of life would be exposed to them.

The US is NOT representative of the rest of the developed world. What you see around you....what you experience....is not the world that the rest of us experience.

Perversely it is the fact that so many US citizens carry weapons that stops any meaningful demonstration/action against punitive government measures....the fear of a blood bath keeps you all in check.

So here's a quick question for you ALS..

Out of those 60 rampage shootings since 1999 how many of them have happened in the state of Utah?

I'll give you a hint... NONE of them!

Now there were 2 ATTEMPTED rampage shootings in the state of Utah. One at a law school and the other at a pubblic school. So would you like to know what happened in those 2 cases?

In the attempted law school shootings armed Concealed Carry Permit holding students confronted the shooter before he could fire a single shot and successfully disarmed and held him until the police could arrive.

In the attempted Public School shooting an armed Concealed Carry Permit Holding teacher confronted the prospective shooter before he could fire a shot and successfully disarmed and held him until the police could arrive.

2 attempted shootings ZERO loss of life and no police involvement other than showing up minutes later to handcuff the attempted shooter and drive them to jail... That's why you never heard about them!

Also in your own country immediately after civilian possession of firearms became severely curtailed violent crime spiked Tremendously, especially gun crime.

I also feel compelled to let you know that I'm not even a briton nor have I ever visited the isles yet I KNOW for a fact that I could have in my possession a gun and spare ammunition for under 500 pounds in under 6 hours after I cleared customs! So no guns really aren't that scarce in your country, unless of course you're a law abiding citizen...

One thing we ought to know by now is that prohibition DOES NOT WORK... it has utterly failed at keeping children from having sex and getting pregnant, it didn't work for alcohol, it is costing us untold hundreds of billions if not TRILLIONS yearly in the case of the drug wars, in country's where prostitution is illegal you can still find one or more prostituted in any town with a population over 500 people, and hey did I mention fraud is illegal too?

Do you see where I'm going with this?

God did not make man equal Sam Colt, Eugene Stoner, John Moses Browning, or mikhail kalashnikov did depending on your geographic location and or taste in arms.

It's way too late for that. To get rid of guns, you'd have to unwind decades worth of social programming, and that's just not possible. The DNC doesn't even want to get between people and their guns anymore. Not because they're afraid of losing power, but because they also know that such an effort is completely impossible to initiate and manage, let alone succeed in implementing.

This is going to require a completely new generation of Americans to become disgusted in the gun worship that exists here, and that generation has yet to be born. The existing generations of Americans are completely enamored with guns and the loud devastation that guns inflict. All you have to do is watch any movie or TV show that features "immortal" beings that are battling one another. They use amazingly powerful guns with endless ammo clips on each other, even though the bullets don't kill anyone in the fight. It's the spent shells, pouring out onto the floor, as the combatants ejaculate load after load of hot steaming lead into each others' faces, that provide the guilty thrill for those millions who eagerly pony up the 10 bucks to see it all in hyper-reality HD on 100 foot screens. It's sex and violence all rolled up into one visceral celebration.

Guns violence is like porn for those who flock to those big budget hose-fests.

A disarmed populace is a victim populace. One need look no further than the palestinians getting constantly screwed over by the jewish israelis. Arabs throw stones and jews retaliate with white phosphorous dropped from the cowardly jewish pilots. If it wasn't for iran and syria giving them some weapons I feel certain there would have been a muslim holocaust that would have dwarfed the jewish holocaust. We already have an apartheid there.

The turks that massacred the armenians.

The serbs that massacred the bosnians.

The brits that massacred the irish.

The greeks that massacred the turkish cypriots.

Europeans that massacred the native americans in every north, central and southern american nation.

How many #ing examples do we need to know that unarmed=victim??????

Someone breaks in your door at 3am, could be grey aliens, could be your business rival, could be a jealous husband looking for revenge, could be an ex-con looking for jewelry, COULD BE ANYONE!

And lets not forget it is just as legitimate a hobby shooting at the gun range with friends or alone as any other hobby.

Why the hell the government is on a mission to disarm the entire population speaks of mind numbing, back-stabbing, dishonest and probably extremely evil intentions.

the issue is the validity of our constitution. It has been under attack for some time now and this is yet another such attack on its validity.

That is the core of this.

Why so pissed about a little less pay Europe?, your economies need it, think of the hungry children.....sounds dumb huh...well this world movement against OUR gun rights sounds just as dumb to us. It is about our constitutions validity, not because crazy people do dumb things.

I get it, the world wants us to be like them and for the world to be like us...thing is the middle ground, its all the most inconvenient things to government that are axed, and the most important ones to the people that are a necessary sacrifice to let go....I get it.

NWO BS.

YOUR DOING IT WRONG. It will fail this way.

I guess everyone should just resort to stabbing each other like they do where your from.

If the shooter used gasoline and a match instead would you ban fuel?

Guns don't kill people do.

We need to put more resources into education and society so we can spot people early that commit these types of crimes not ban guns.
I'm sorry but that logic is totally flawed. Guns do kill people, that is what they are designed to do, nothing more.

Fuel has a purpose other than killing people.

gun control is a red herring the problem is the culture. You need to focus on communities rather than the individual, health care, education, and inclusive society rather than exclusive. You know, socialism, the stuff that America thinks the work of the devil? And sure, gun control too but that is just a small part of the problem

Nice try but mexico ALLOWS GUNS with restrictions. Canada allows guns with restrictions.

In mexico you can have any pistol up to .380acp but the suppliers are rather limited.

Mexico has not banned guns!

being an adult has NOTHING to do with one's ability to handle 'real guns'. that's just macho baloney. being an adult is about maturity, life experience, wisdom and understanding. i've never fired a gun in my life and yet, what do you know, here i am - an adult. how'd that happen?

Saving us from guns is the red herring. The real issue is disarming the population. That way DHS will have more of an advantage than the 1,000,000,000,000+ rounds that they already bought.

The powers that be do not like sheep that can defend themselves.

Now give up your guns. And get back in your pen.
