How do we go about getting more people to look at what we post to get the flags?

Generally...

When someone posts on your threads... engage them in conversation. If there is something interesting to talk about in the OP, then it is apt to produce more posts and, subsequently, the thread winds up on the Recent Posts page often enough so that it registers with more members.

The idea is to make people become intrigued by the OP, think about how it relates to themselves and then ask questions about what was meant by the author.

What I do is reply to every reader who was kind enough to say something. I may wait a bit so that the thread stays in the top of the stack longer.

Ego, sure. But the more exposure, the better.

I just made my 2nd attempt to post a poem in this contest, only to find that it doesn't show on the Short Story forum page along with the other contest entries.

What am I doing wrong?

This is a link to my 2nd attempt.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I have no idea where my first attempt actually ended up. On the post, it claimed to be within the Short Story forum, but it doesn't show up there when I go to the forum itself, so who knows where it is.

The first is in the correct forum and has two flags already, while the second, also in the correct forum, has none.

I'll remove the duplicate which has none

Look on page three....It seems like they don't register on the first page for a little while (maybe until the thread is replied to or flagged)...and you can always sort by "new thread" to make sure it's in the forum.

It's on pg 1 of the forum page now.

I 'sticky' each successful contest entry so they will stay at the top of the forum. Right now, there are 3 pages of entries

I've decided to throw a few more in the mix. I can't believe how many great submissions there have been this month. With intelligence, creativity, and an alternative way to think we have some creative poets here.

Nearly 3 pages of entries places this current contest into the stratosphere, imho. It's an amazing achievement on the part of the membership.

In another 10 days, it will end, so, if you've another poem to add, now is the time to do so because flags take time to accumulate.

Is everyone trying to suss out world events leading up to 21.12.2012 and how they might relate to the much promulgated, dismissed, feared and discussed Mayan prophecy? I know I am (even if just for the giggles).

Boss? I'm putting together a story that (I hope) will be a tribute to one of my idols, Douglas Adams.

It'll be ready in time!
