50mph windgusts up there right now 55-60-65mph up there where the crane is hanging. Winds will be peaking over the next few hours until late tonight, so no real chance of dealing with this issue. Just have to secure the area.

you'd like that.

I heard the boom and the fire engines have been racing around the area, heading that way.

Power is out in a lot of Cape Cod---trees down, too. Family is reporting a lot of serious weather going on there.

I'm in Western New York right now. Wind is just starting to blow and it's raining.

Glad I have a natural gas generator hooked up to my house, and it's big enough to keep the whole house going.

You say you live in Detroit.... Then I think you should....shut up or something...

300k out of power before the storm hits. Storm surge just brought havoc upon OC, Md, and you - hundreds of miles away- have NOTHING to contribute. Although I'M the one in my basement right now, I pity you...

Top of Appalachian Mountains N. Ga here...power just went out, sustained winds of 40 to 50 MPH..ice crystals blowing in wind. This is just from the outlaying effects of this massive storm. Running on generator and UPS back-up now.

God Bless and Protect you all....

For those who may lose power

Something I picked up living on the Gulf.

Do last minute laundry, and load your glass dishes in the dishwasher. Make sure you have as many clean clothes as possible, just in case. Also, the dishwasher is a safe place for glass dishes, and you'll save water by not having to do dishes with no power, and possibly no running water.

Fill your tub up,and anything else you can find, you might not be able to get water for awhile.

I have a bad feeling about this for those in the city,I sat out 4 canes in florida, and was without power for about a month from one,and a full week another.

Looks like unemployment's gonna go down temporarily to clean up the mess if those pics are real.

Gotta take the good with the bad

I sincerely hope ALL of our east coast members are safe, dry, and have everything they need to get through this wicked storm.

It's astounding to think about how huge this storm is and how long it's going to take to pass, please stay safe and listen to the professionals.
