I'm pretty sure it was on ats where I first read it. Someone asked "Who do Americans turn to when we are the ones who need to be saved from an oppressive regime?"

First I think people are vastly underestimating the number of people that have been deprogramed/woken up. There are some older people who have realized that the system we confine ourselves to works against us. But a vast number of young people have woken up to some extent, just like young people the world over have woken up, and have been protesting en mass all year.
Here in America some are aware that something is wrong with our society, but don't understand more than that, or feel they are powerless to do anything. Some realize that we have deep, fundamental systemic problems, want something better, but have no idea where to start. Some know that our system is a complete lie put in place with premeditated and malicious intent, to harm us, and know it has to change, or else. But feel isolated and powerless. Some know this system was planned from the beginning to be our demise, and for profit by the perpetrators. They know about things like workers rights, consumers rights, citizens rights. About ways to organize and mobilize people, and working together for our mutual benefit. They have been waiting for everyone else to wake up, but don't know where to find the ones who have.

The baby boomers were/are severely ensnared in the system. New ways of marketing and advertising was destructive in the worst way, many being kids when this came into society, the first children exposed to this kind of manipulation.
They accepted and enabled the destruction of America's once great cities, truly some of the greatest in the world, and flocked to the Suburbs- the beginning of the compartmentalization of our everyday lives. They sincerely believed they where pursuing and strengthening the American dream. Many still do.

Our built environment, the places we live, are designed to keep people separated, because people allowed to freely comingle and interact can communicate and share ideas in large numbers, and in real time.

To gain any real momentum, to do anything for anyone, we are going to have to get out from in front of our computers, break our addictions to the internet and the instant gratification it brings, and go outside. Go and actually talk to one another. And from there we can begin to rebuild community, instead of languish in collectivism. Because in a community you are not powerless, disenfranchised, or isolated. We gain our political strength from our numbers. Out of many, one.

Who will come save Americans? Nobody.
Americans must save themselves. There will be no night in shining armor, no foreign military walking onto our shores to liberate us. Our military men and women will probably be sent somewhere over seas. Jesus won't rapture you.
Americans have to turn to each other. By saving each other, we save ourselves.
The first step is not being afraid.

Its not just a right, it states in the constitution its your "duty".

It will only happen with organisation. Unless people quickly get organised in a big way it will be too late. It will take around 400,000 armed people i believe in the end. But to start it off will only take a couple of thousand.

its sad to me that this is the current affair of the U.S.A. If we did revolt in any fashion we 'the people' would be pummeled to the ground with our ideals. Overthrowing a government thats as powerful as the United States at this point would be suicide on a massive scale. As much as a peaceful negotiation of rights and liberty from our currupt government looks amazing on paper, the truth is our government and top earners have worked too hard to get what they have at the moment. I can only imagine the bio-chemical and psychological warfare thats already set in place for such a revolt.

The U.S. Government and collusion ninjas are akin to Spartan mentallity, should we take them on we would fall by the millions for many reasons. Most notably we only have access to militaristic weapons and ammuniton barring some patriotic higher ups with access to exotic warfare supplies. Even then we still have to worry about collective teamwork and strategery. Something that was much easier during the American Revolution being limited to such firepower and means of winning the war.

The only way to win this war i fear is already years behind us. We should have been planning and networking in secrecy very long before now. I fear that our government has the means to completely subdue any outside or inside ideaology or rebellion. And when we finally do rise to the occassion it will already be too late.

So enjoy your cheesburgers with extra large preservatives and natural flavorings, Iphones, facebook, and cozy cancer treatment centers. Cause when its gone and you actually have 'reason' to come together and fight you'll already be dead

You can do it!

Just draw your line in the sand and get ready to die defending it. Life won't be worth living otherwise.

I would if i actually believed dying in the name of freedom would get through the thick skulls of the other 99%. If there was hope in any way that my children and my childrens children could live in a world free from such curruption and inhumanity i would gladly lay my life on the line. But unless there are some provisions and a complete overhaul in the collective mind, drawing a line in the sand will only make you sink faster in the statistical mealstrome of needless death

Living now can only be a means for future generations, so that we can hopefully teach and become examples of light and freedom so that when the time comes we are ready to submit ourselves to the greater cause of humanism

As stated earlier in the thread, there were only about 30% even willing to go on with the Revolution of the Revolutionary war. That does not even mention the even lesser number of people who were willing to fight and even die for it. But thats what happened.

Make a ripple, in most cases the ripple will dissolve in the motionless sea during the calm bofore a storm. But in some cases that ripple can become a wave.

Though it is rare, what turns a ripple into a wave couldn't be hurt by the conviction one has. You must take your conviction upon principal and draw your line in the sand. The ripple that becomes a wave has conviction, the ripple that becomes a wave has principal.

If a few hundred people started campaigning now with small goals like increasing political participation, challenging the two parties, reducing excessive money in politics, and building stronger localities then by 2016 we might have a serious national discussion.

Perhaps your right. Atleast hope against hope your right. But this war from a futurist point of view will not end well. I just dont know if we have the means to take on such a force. The end game of a revolt would be the end of our government and the institution of a new one. The U.S. has so many allies in the exporting and importing of goods and services i'm not so sure we wouldn't be taking on more than just the government. Which in turn would become a world wide conflict. Am i wrong to consider those dominoes? I think a much larger game needs to be played than standing against the government at this juncture

No you are right in that assumption. It would be a world wide conflict and not very pretty.

If you did a google map directions to the white house and added a day for every hour thats how many days it would take you to get to the white house, but if you healed a sign that said Im marching on DC and marched through every town along the way there is no doubt that by the time you got to DC you would have a very good following. Just for good measure you could also carry with you your rifle. The Constitution allows that.

What would we be fighting for? This is a serious question. Today, many are fighting for the right to slaughter yet more babies, fighting for the right to euthanise our elderly, fighting for the right to remove the God of our forefathers, fighting for the right to legalise prostitution, pedophila and gay marriage, fighting for the right to legalise drugs of all sorts, fighting for the right to allow kids to determine their sexual maturity age.....

The spirit of rebellion and disobedience is growing because we've been led down a life inconsistent with Christ. Can anybody see the outcome of our declining morality when they read Lenin's statement that "The best revolutionary is a YOUTH DEVOID OF MORALS"???? Can nobody connect the dots that these past three generations have collectively shed the morality of God, and that we have become those "revolutionaries" that Lenin so simply stated? The Bible, from beginning to end, declares what happens to man when they disobey Him - we get death and destruction.

People calling for revolution cannot see that they have been indoctrinated to arrive at this point in time. They have been programmed to believe that it is up to MAN to save himself, and to utterly disconnect the present rotten fruits in society from their own love of sin and wickedness. And perhaps most hypocritical of all, they will fight and revolt against God to keep the filth. Revolution is coming, fully supported by all the bricks in the tower at Babel who are so blind that they cannot see that their wicked leaders have indoctrinated them to reject the path of peace - Jesus - and to accept the revolution that they themselves planned. This is blindness when the blind sheep follow their blind leaders straight into the pit.

Problem - reaction - solution. Everyone calling for revolution are but part of THEIR pre-planned "reaction". Godless men and women are fighting already for all of those evils. A populace that despises life enough to legalise the murder of babies gets a leader who doesn't value life. A populace that tolerates stealing of any kind gets a leader who is corrupt. What those who call for revolution completely miss is their hypocrisy, that they want to keep stealing and murdering and YET WANT LEADERS WHO DON'T. Which is it? God is so very patient giving all time to repent of their own evils, to remove the plank from their own eyes first before trying to remove the plank from the eyes of another. God appoints our authority. Revolting against that is revolting against God. They know it. The overwhelming thing that God needs all of us to understand is that if we choose His good we get life in peace and abundance, but that if we choose evil only misery and death results. Please, open your eyes to the results of the love of evil all around us, it's there for ALL of us to see. And then understand that your calls for revolutions will inflict that very misery and death that He promised. Fight for His good, not the good as defined by evil.

All good stuff right there. Cant even argue with you.

But on the subject of the first paragraph. We have done just that. Go to the website of the socialist party usa and read their platform planks and constitution. Bring our enemies upon us, we have done just that, those are all the types of things they are calling for.

There will be no revolution.... There posts really bother me. Do you really think that a mob of protesters revolting in DC will be a good thing? Looting, innocents dying and the like? Let me ask you this? How will you do it? How will you unseat the politicians in DC.

Lets assume you have a plan and you actually get that far...then what? You think everyone is going to agree on how things should be run? Who makes the decisions? What type of government do you establish?

They would need to be robots to not eventually take advantage of the system for their own personal gain.....

THINK!!!! sheesh...

I think there are only a few scenarios that could actually work, but it all revolves around states breaking away from the union.

In order to have the support of the outside world, you would need to have a group of states making a pact to break from the federal government and govern themselves, kind of a "US 2.0". That could gain recognition from the UN and other nations far more quickly than any long term battle for control of the nation. The UN and other nations have long stated their belief in the right to self determination. There is a history of it in global politics and no powerful or influential nation would be able to publicly deny that recognition.

But, all of this is a moot point while so few Americans can be bothered to get off their ass to protest. That's what needs to happen first. You need to have the political will shown for all to see to get the discussion going. Although that began with the Occupy movement across the country (and indeed the world) it didn't succeed in motivating people to get involved.

While the Occupy movement was gaining support all over the US, they were too early. It was a good start, but they'll be stronger next year when the cuts and poverty really kick in for the average man and woman.

All the US has seen so far is a slowing of spending and the gradual decline of the economy. That's only hurting a select group of people. But when the election is out of the way whoever is in power will have no choice but to actually start the austerity no one is talking about. Within months it will be visible in the unemployment figures, house prices and GDP.

There will be far more people joining a movement next year than were willing to this year.

I brought up the issue of the "peaceful revolution" idea in the thread discussing the military conspiracy, with those serving men planning to start something. Someone was showing support for their ideals. The fact is you can't go straight from "I'm angry with the government" to "lets start killing people". That is not the way to do it. That's not a revolution, that's a half-assed attempt at a coup, and it is more of a terrorist plot than any real attempt to change the nation for the better.

People need to protest in large numbers first, show the anger, tell them what needs to change. People need to follow the idea of asking government to address their grievances (corporate control of gov, expensive wars, backing of Israel, secret groups like Bilderberg, banking corruption, removal of freedoms, increasing of surveillance, cutting services...) then getting the response.

Once the peaceful part is done, you have the national support, then you push it depending on the response of government. We all know that a large protest like that would garner a tough response from your government, but that response is then used to show the rest of the country what a police state looks like.

IMO, the same thing would happen in the US as has happened everywhere else. The people demand change, the government cracks down on those people, the guns come out and people are hurt, but it exposes the government for what it is. I can almost guarantee that if the people of the USA stood up like the people of Egypt or Syria the US government would label them all as "terrorists" and "armed gangs" and do exactly what those despots did/are doing.

That's how I think it would go, but the most important thing is that Americans haven't even protested in significant numbers. You can't even start down this path unless there is a clear demand from the public for change, and right now far too many Americans are far too distracted by other things, they believe the BS, they still think things are going to get better.

The true collapse hasn't even hit yet, and when it does, people will know it, and there will be hiding the fact that the government - whoever is the figurehead - has failed and is failing. That will be the breaking point in my opinion, and that would be the time to start the peaceful protests.

I have been challenging all the nutcases that scream about watering the tree of liberty for a while now, and still no one has fired a shot. So to answer your question, why? Because they are all jaws, no ba!!s. that's right, if you are going to cry about 'revolution' then just do it! "if you have to shoot, shoot, don't talk." - Tuco, The Ugly.

the problem is not overthrowing them that can be done for sure because the population far out number Gov. The problem is what takes over after. Could be a dicatator ship worse than what you have now! If you want to take over then have a intellectual revolution. This starts by stop eating chips eating garbage food watching superficial entertainment, educate yourself in politics. law and science. And parents teach kids to build useful skills and be respectul instead of foul mouth tards.. Go Go Go!...

Too many people can't comprehend abstract ideals and political philosphy. I, myself, deal more with ideals than the differences in academic studies of one political party vs another.

It will actually take tyrannical actions on the part of the government to motivate people to act. Something concrete, simple, easy to grasp and wrap ones head around.

Many colonists were pissed about oppressive British occupations... but it took the "Boston Massacre" and the printing press and word of mouth to cause mass public outrage.Backwoods farmers and small town craftsmen may not worry about the British occupation of Boston... but shooting unarmed civilians en masse... that was troubling.

Or we could look at a more contemporary movie scenario... V is for Vendetta... people were living under an oppressive government and grudgingly did so. However, it took the shooting of an innocent child to motivate people on a massive scale to act.

When people have nothing left to lose, they act... for many Americans, things have not gotten bad enough to act out in civil disobedience and rebellion. Most influencial people... leaders, business people, church and community leaders at 40 or above remember the 1970s... the gas shortages, Watergate, Viet Nam ending, stagflation,... those were bad years... but there was no revolution then. Likewise, until things get worse... there will be no revolution now.

I do understand that our rights are in jeopardy. I do understand that with the Patriot Act, DHS, TSA, our rights are fewer than before. To most Americans... these infringements are justified. I don't believe it, but many Americans do... just sit and listen on mainstreet. Until these Americans see what you and I see... until they feel the same restraint and oppression and are moved by outrage at a government action... there will be no revolution.

Anecdote... personal note... I asked a small group of folks recently if they believed in Jesus, believed in the US Constitution, owned a firearm, flew an American Flag, believed in individual rights and self determination...

"Yes, absolutely." was the common reply.

Then by definition of DHS and the FBI... you are domestic terrorists.

They looked stunned and didn't believe me.
