To judge Americans is as ridiculous as judging anyone. Almost every American i have ever met (with the exception of a tiny minority) has been absolutely lovely.

Muslims are part of us here and now,yes some are prejudiced but that is all over and no surprise. I speak for the people who are decent and I demand they be defended.Sticking a pentagram in a Baptist church will earn the person doing it a one way trip to the emergency room and we all know it.
That act IS NO DIFFERENT and we all know that as well.
PRAISE JESUS you idiots who did that.

Muhammad himself responded violently to criticism of Islam, if the first biography written by a Muslim, Ibn Ishaq, in 768 AD is to be believed, so it isn't so surprising that this crowd of Muslims react with such aggression.
• Muhammad authorised the murder of a number of poets (male & female) who had mocked him. One poet was a mother sleeping with her young children. The Muslim assassin had to move the child aside before thrusting his dagger into her chest. Another victim was a male poet who was, according to Muslim sources, over 100 years old. Mohammed then absolved the Islamic murderers of any wrong doing.
• He was also an accomplished caravan raider who had the propensity to execute prisoners who had been political opponents in the past. One such man had fallen foul of Muhammad when Muhammad was in his early days due to being a better story teller than Muhammad,. "Who will look after my young daughter?" cried the man, moments before he was executed. Muhammad then cursed him.
The Life of Muhammad (768 AD) by Ibn Ishaq
Muhammad allowed his followers to assassinate people who criticised him and then absolved the killers of any wrong doing. He also personally ordered the execution of people who had criticised him in the past.

Yeah they can and do have freedom of religion but all Americans have the right to disagree with that religion.
I can't believe they didn't retaliate.
Free speech zones are asinine.

If a Christian group was crashing a Muslim festival, they obviously had some point of contention and expected backlash. They also seemed to expect the police to protect them. Why?
Natural consequences, if I throw trash in your yard, you have every right to kick it back in mine, and if it escalates and you kick my ass..... fine. That is what happens to people when they pick fights, eventually they get their ass kicked.
Good for the Muslims.

Sound logic. Lets just assault people, threaten them, destroy their property and break the law any time they don't agree with us.
And when we disagree with them we use Predator Drones to bomb their neighborhoods, ostensibly looking for terrorist by swatting flies with a sledgehammer.
Is there a moral highground being claimed here?
No that's what the gov does when it disagrees with them, when we were to do something it would be more like Cronulla where we get pissed call them out for a fair fight, then rampage and take back the streets, while they hide inside till after dark when everyone has passed out so they can come out acting tough and destroy public property loot and burn stuff.
If we disagree with them and take their stance they would not be here or in the US, lucky for them we are more tolerant.

And even if it is true that 4000 British Muslims have joined, thats still a small proportion of the overall population.
How many British Christians joined the IRA?
