So, by your own logic, since you say you pay taxes in Australia, you re equally complicit in your government's cowtowing to US interests.

Instead of blaming the US for everything, why dont you look at your own government?

A newly published book by journalist David Uren has revealed that the Australian government’s 2009 Defence White Paper contained a “secret chapter” that assessed “Australia’s ability to fight an air-sea battle alongside the United States against China.”

...The study’s authors, James Holmes and Toshi Yoshihara, commented that “the Australian government—Washington’s most dependable ally in Asia, alongside Tokyo—would likely prove agreeable to such an arrangement.”

Under Prime Minister Julia Gillard, the Labor government has unconditionally aligned Australia with the Obama administration’s so-called pivot to the Asia-Pacific. Australian ports and airbases are to be upgraded for use by the American military and the Cocos Islands in the Indian Ocean made available as an airbase for US surveillance drones and, potentially, warplanes.

What do you think China will do to you once we stop protecting your ass??? Do you honestly believe they will treat you like equals? Do you think they wont eventually take advantage of you? China treats its own people like total sh*t, so just imagine how they will treat some Aussie's who they dont owe anything to....

When has America protected Australia?
There is not a single war where America has rushed to protect Australia.

There is ONE reason why no one is f*cking with you guys right now, and thats US... I mean USA

Have you ever thought that maybe its because your international image is a warmongering tyrant?

Yeah, my government is. But my government is largely controlled by international banks and corporations. They use our military for profit and regional control.

Do you really think the average American wants to start wars with people?

If that's really the case then kick us out.
The average American has no clue.

Raise awareness and ban Americans from travelling to your country

If we did that then what would be the reactions from Americans? My guess is they would be chanting "USA USA USA" outside the White House asking to invade insubordinate Australia.

1. You involve us in your wars killing thousands of our men along the way.

Really? I could have sworn it is the job of your own government to command your armed forces.

2. You have actively infiltrated the Australian government with CIA operatives and have desposed several prominent primeministers - Gough Whitlam.

Are you sure this is not just speculation and another attempt at blaming my country for your government being pushovers?

3. American CIA operatives are responsible for several terrorist attacks on Australians - Bali Bombings.

Why? Because an Islamic extremist said so?

4. America is actively operating military bases in Australia and refuses Australians access to them!!

Again, your government gave us the go ahead. And why would Australians need access to American military bases? They are military bases, not amusement parks.

5. America has been actively promoting the Greens party in Australia to undermine our prosperity and wreck our economy.

Could you elaborate on this? I do not understand.

6. America is jeopardizing our future by making threats to China.

What threats were made to China? I honestly am not aware of any. As a matter of fact, I am only aware of the threats China has made towards us. But at any rate, how does America/China relations jeopardize your future?

7. America has refused to allow Australia to have their own nuclear weapons.
There are many more.

How exactly do we "not allow" it?

But Americans who think Australians are their best allies are severely deluded.

The average American never thinks about Australia.

DING DING DING!!!!!! This is exactly true... When I think of US allies, Australia is nowhere near the top of my list and if they want out to team up with Communist China then let them, but dont come crying to us when China decides to take over your nation draining all your natural resources... and oh yea, we want all our military toys back....

Firstly its funny that you say that Australia is nowhere near the top of your list in US allies. Then who do you think of?
Australia has served alongside Americans in every one of your wars since WW2, Britain ditched you in Vietnam, and Canada ditched you in Vietnam/Iraq. We stood there in every conflict but get the cold shoulder for it.

What military toys are you talking about?
America refuses to sell Australia even its old equipment but is happy to send Israel weapons for free. Good to know your such a kind friend.....

You want me to be a kind friend??? Really? You are on here supporting this thread, bashing USA, and blaming ALL your countries problems on my country... If anything, you are the one being the bad friend.... You obviously believe that China is going to be the next superpower, so you prefer to kiss their ass, instead of dealing with them with us.... USA will be fine without Australia, the real question is, will Australia be fine without USA???

My taxes go to the Australian government, in some cases they have tried to break free of CIA control but it has ended up in failure.

So I do not see them as the Australian government anymore because they are a CIA puppet regime. If we rebelled it won't cut off the head of the snake will it?

He's right...Australia was with us in Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan/Iraq...

What old equipment will the US not sell you? I'm pretty sure Australia has F/A-18's...what are we NOT selling you?

Point taken, Israel does get a lot of freebies, I think.

So then, again, by your own logic, you are complicit in your government's crimes, because you support them by paying taxes.

Will you answer my questions?

If you don't think of Australia as your ally than who do you think of?
Those military toys do not go to Australia they go to Israel.

Also I'm calling your country "a kind friend" not you in particular, but just to let you know I was being sarcastic anyway. How is Australia being the bad friend please elaborate on that?

I blame that all on you and your people... If what you say is true, you allowed the CIA to infiltrate your govt. to get them to do whatever they want... If you truly believe everything you're saying than why dont you rise up against us? why dont you do something other than typing on a conspiracy website? Cause ill tell you this much, complaining on here wont bring you any changes...

Well, to be honest with you, I consider our European alliances stronger partners than yuo guys, they seem to support more of the decisions we make and they dont seem to KISS China's ass like you Aussies do... Second, I consider you guys a sh*tty friend because I'm reading a thread made by an Aussi stating how your future is bright if we lose WWIII. You guys all support the downfall of my country and thats the reason why I consider you guys sh*tty friends...

As an Australian myself I can tell you that Germanicus has it wrong. The majority of Australian's don't care about china at all. What the Chinese do to their people is a sad state of affairs, so long as they do it over there. We don't want Chinese rule, we don't want American rule. All we want is to rule ourselves.
If our pollies screw up we can remove them. WE HAVE THE FREEDOM TO REMOVE THEM. That is as it should be.
I take offense to being called a moron by someone who has no concept of what they are talking about. You have the freedom to call us morons because we are relatively free, but you try going to China and telling them that they are morons and see how far you get. As is the case ALL OVER THE WORLD there are some here who aren't that bright. But even the most stupid amongst us will tell you the same thing:

WE WILL NOT LIVE UNDER THE HEEL OF ANYONE.

We will live with the freedoms that we have and we will stand up and take the consequences. We don't look to the US to save us, We don't look to the UK to save us. When the GFC hit, it was then Prime Minister Kevin Rudd who made the financial policy that has seen us ride out the crisis better than most. Those stimulus payments were a key factor.
Yes China is a key trading partner, but that is all.
If you truly think life would be better under China's rule then leave.

Largely agree Rogue Traveler. Though it does seem very obvious that our relationship with the US is the deterrent to any nation who might be looking towards Australia, in any military sense. We don't have a strong enough military to deter any of the worlds larger forces. It has been this way since WW2, when despite the bravery of our troops, things would have ended up very differently had it not been for US involvement. We might not have been speaking Japanese, but our resources would have no doubt gone to the Japanese war effort (probably as a result of unfavorable peace terms).

Whether you like US cultural influence or policy, it's a shame to see posts that often crop up on these boards downplaying the role of the Yanks in history, particularly in WW2. They were the only thing that could and did match the formidable Japanese forces in the Pacific (with some help, obviously).

Strategically, we are important to the US and it would probably need a WW3 style conflict and resulting power shifts and new alliances to change the relationship we have with them this way. This seems extremely unlikely, but even then, we would be fighting on their side and it seems just as doubtful they would lose such a conflict. I would see this scenario as more likely to strengthen our ties and therefore our share of the pie/leftovers after such a conflict. We have for a long time been a (willing) de facto state of the union and despite emerging economies and any resulting shifts in a trading sense, I doubt that will change anytime soon.

These countries are playing Chess not checkers. So even when it looks like they are going to do one thing they aren't. You will never be quite sure what hand they are playing until its too late.

China is where it is because America wants it there. I don't believe they opened China for it to rule the world, that much is sure. In the future China will be exposed as an even greater puppet. The Chinese people deserve better but that is not what will happen.

There is a saying: An enemy that announces its premature defeat will ultimately be victorious.
Everyone is saying the show is closing on America. They said the same thing when Japan was rising. Look at Japan now. Japan is where it is because it is useful for America(England) to have it there.

A lot of people don't know this but America gets its orders from England. We are in the show, but we aren't running the show.

Australia will be a major player simply because it has oil. That will certify your place in the world, not an alliance with China.

ALSO there is another saying: You can't beat an opponent if you are playing by your opponent's rules. China is playing in a game that America (England) created and they therefore cannot win this game unless they want them to.

Good luck with all that. When China is done with everyone else, they will simply take your mines, your casinos, and your men/women. Of course they don't actually need the Australians. The just need Australia. Don't be too quick to sign up as a lap dog. Some Chinese eat dogs...
