USS Enterprise possibly under attack [updated]

I heard the USS Enterpise had been sunk.

I don't have any evidence for this but since I've posted it on ATS it must be true and I expect hundreds of stars.

Not a lot there right now about this other than the same rumor.

Where is the OP on this and why no more updates? Would like to find out where they came from and how credible the OP is.

A few tweets seem to be mentioning that it was attacked by 4 planes from an unconfirmed country however it is twitter so at the moment i am taking with a pinch of salt.

If what Phages link says is true, Enterprise might encounter such if on "security patrol". That would indeed be an attack but not the opening of a wider war (on their part). On our part... who knows?

Would also explain why Enterprise would suffer damage since it is unlikely that an above water attack would get through the groups overall defensive shield.

They are doing live bombardment exercises. I cannot find out where it is exactly, but whenever I hear that the military is doing an exercise, I start to think that it is a perfect opportunity for a tragedy to unfold and the majority of people involved aren't sure if it is part of the exercise or not.

It may take a while to get some information, if something indeed happened to the Enterprise.
