It sure does look like she is chatting away though (if she was holding a phone), kind of funny. People assumed some weird positions for old photographs, # sure must have been different then. They never could have imagined that 150 years later those exact poses would be oddly familiar.

Interesting picture though.

I think what we see now- looking at a picture in this age, where the cell phone is common- is the shadow of her fingers curled into the palm. We see a cell phone simply that is our first reaction to this pose in a technological age.

i seen something on this type stuff for a movie someone walkin down street look like call phone but they said it was hearing aid who knows. the guy who made lear jets son said his dad had cell phone back in 50 or 60s i dont really remember the year but sounded cool when i heard it from his son

These are not posted as in deep research, just grabbed, from a pile I've seen, but missing the one I was looking for, so I don't know.

I think they've been messaging through time in movies myself, my theory.

Um guys, theres something staring you all plainly in the face here, which may provide some insight to Chads intent here in posting this thread. He hasnt contributed to the thread for like "ages". He wouldnt do that, if he was serious about a topic he posted he been in there like a shot, you couldnt get him off the thread.
It is obviously some sort of "scientific experiment", on his part.

It just occured to me how noticable he was by his absence.

....so, does anyone really believe that communication devices in the future would be as large, and bulky, as a cell phone? The Google glasses and contact lenses will soon be commonplace. Communication devices would have evolved into tiny implants before we ever learned how to manipulate space-time well enough to travel in it. Clearly, what she is holding is the time machine itself....

Unity, you do realise dont you, that on the third film, thats Matt Smith, who plays Dr Who, and hes pretty much a time traveller.

Its just her ring finger and hand casting some shadows. /thread
