I clicked on this thread thinking the Canadian Defense Minister actually said something like this. I didn't figure a thread title like this would be referencing an out of office for decades government employee bringing something up in their later years, like most seem to do. But I get it, making a thread title like this get you attention, facts and reality be damned.

This guy is not bringing anything to the table, nothing whatsoever. If anything, he is adding to the signal-to-noise ratio and folks who make intentionally MISLEADING threads like this one are acting like "useful idiots"......

Not exactly. He was the Canadian Defense Minister in 1963. He took too much time since then to speak up, kind of pointless now. We already know.

not really pointless now, because if he would have come forward back then, maybe he would have ended up like Phil Schneider, or just ridiculed because not as many people back then were into the UFO conspiracy. I think his timing is pretty good, considering there are a lot more credible witnesses who have come forward in more recent times.

personally I think a lot of these guys (and gals) come forward at a late age because they either are so old they don't care what happens to them now, or they are terminal with nothing to lose.

you're indeed correct, back then and even today, people in the know who spill the beans end up in a couple ways, dead, missing, setup or if they're lucky, ridiculed only. it's imperative to the the ones in power that they try to keep this info from us, in order to stay in power.

the only problem is they have no control over it now and are quite alarmed at the potential outcome from disclosure. my belief anyway.

I have beliefs too. You might not agree with many of them or you might agree with all of them or none of them. It doesnt matter, My beliefs are mine and yours are yours and his are his. This says nothing other than he thinks this is taking place.

Agreed, but, coming from someone in a position, or former position, such as his, his beliefs have a little more importance than yours or mine.

All you people need to read "the Report from Iron Mountain"! This report explains why they want environmental,
social and economic destruction and how it contributes to them staying in control! I wish i had a time machine so i could go back to the beginnning of the writing of the constatution and make some revisions to stop the evil Military industrial complex! Make sure the treasury prints our money and execute traitors who profit off of our countries demise!

Just to make it clear, anecdotes are still evidence, hence the term "anecdotal evidence." Obviously empirical evidence is nice, but you still have to interpret what empirical evidence means. For instance I can reference empirical evidence to support the idea that the earth is flat -- go to the beach and observe the horizon, and you will be able to validate my claim. Then an astronaut might come along and say "well I have been high enough in the atmosphere to say with certainty that the earth is actually a sphere." But the astronaut must be full of it because I can go to the beach and empirically verify that the earth is flat.

Moral: the empirical standard is no substitution for simple critical thinking skills. An honest researcher must be willing to look at all available evidence and come to his or her own conclusions. Empiricism is good, but it's only one piece of the pie.

I think that if the "former" defense minister of Canada wanted to talk about issues relevant to national defense, "pics or it didn't happen" is a rather closed-minded and biased way of engaging his testimony.

Lots of talk on his title and the fact that it is "former." That's not really the issue. The issue is that he is trotted out as some sort of luminary because he was an "official." That really begs the question of what he knew and when he knew it. As I understand it Hellyer has always had an interest in UFOs, but it was piqued significantly only after he attended a Steven Greer conference in Hawaii and read Corso's "The Day after Roswell." He was already over 80 years old at the time. It was only then that he started speaking publicly about UFOs, encouraged by Greer and the Exopolitics crowd, who loudly proclaimed the "Right Honourable Hellyer" as a high-up official who had access to these sorts of things.

Well, no, he didn't and he's never said he was exposed to top level secrets during his tenure as Defence Minister. Now he says he believes a bunch of stuff, but he's never said he had easy access to DCIA or any other top level American official. He's much more known in Canada as a socialist who consolidated the Canadian Armed Forces. This is a good example of someone "being used" to advance the political agenda of others. He's really no better a witness than you or I are. He read "The Day After Roswell" and believes it. I also read "The Day After Roswell" and I don't believe it. As my Vietnamese friends would say: "Same-same."

I have a real problem with the number of alien craft that supposedly crashed. Seem way to many crash! Also i wonder if any of these guys with names that would make us listen more, get paid for this. well they do get paid for their books for sure.

If you reach old age, not going to be around much longer, $ may be what you seek to leave for your family, no longer worrying about your reputation ass a politician or whatever you were.

Very interesting, I had not hear of it.

"The government, the group theorized, would not exist without war, and nation states existed in order to wage war. War also served a vital function of diverting collective aggression. They recommended that bodies be created to emulate the economic functions of war. They also recommended "blood games" and that the government create alternative foes that would scare the people with reports of alien life-forms and out-of-control pollution. "

en.wikipedia.org...

I can actually see how this would give the .govs power.

Why? is he any more or less credible now than when he was in office?

I LOVE these alien debates! its like 50/50 people fighting for and against the existence of aliens.

One person gives a good point, the next shoots him down, another good point is braught up, another person or same person shoots him down too! its like an action movie /Drama/Fiction/Non-Fiction!!!

But really though, we all know why people beleive in aliens, because not only is there hundreds of thousands of storys, witnessed accounts, videos and photos supporting there existnece, but many of us have actually looked up at the sky and seen them for our selves, or atleast ships resembling alien spacecraft that fly unlike convntial craft.

So thats the story of 50% of you. But the million dollar question is...

What is it thats so convincing to the other 50% of you that we are all wrong?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I mean you all seem VERY adiment that there is no possable way that other life forms other than humans can exist in our almost infinte universe and in the billions of years of time they might have found a way to travel between solar sytems?

So instead of us proving to you what should be logically obvious, how about you PROVE to us how aliens COULDNT exist.

It is not common sense, it is a logical fallacy, special pleading. Not only that, but it ignores what Hellyer himself says, that he has no first hand knowledge from his time as defense minister.

His former position does not make him credible, it doesn't help or hinder him. His credibility relies on his claims, which are not credible, found on Corso's book and the religion of the Disclosure crowd.

Actually having had an abduction experience as a child,I digress,it is a crime to keep secrets that allow your citizens to be abducted and harmed, when you have prior knowledge that this is occuring and the power to intervene if disclosure is enacted, but not the power to intervene if disclosure is denied.

For instance, they'll suggest the US Govt is practically omniscient in the extent of its influence and knowledge. Saucers are crashing in all these countries and being spirited away by US agents. There are deals with ETs and if only a US president would utter the magic word, disclosure, we'll get to see spiritual aliens swoop from the skies bearing the secrets of free energy and zealous love like no other.

The "Former" Defense Minister, did say at the end of the video that he's old now and his life is almost over and he just wants to make his contribution.

After all, he is 88 years old and it's never to late to tell others what you believe to be true, know or have been made aware of.

edit on 4/29/12 by ThePublicEnemyNo1 because: (no reason given)

Yeah the old age homes are full of 88 year olds with silly ideas. We just humor them then medicate them.

There just specifically full of 88 year olds? haha. And you "humor" them on things they believe and probably know alot more about then most workers there then "medicate" them to dull down there already slowing down brains and body's... How nice of you
!

.. Sarcasm ...

Just what you said so nonchalant and like it was the rite thing to do scares me. Honestly does that not sound f**ked up to you doing that daily if that's your job?

To OP good find... I hope more higher up people get fed up with governments and start saying more things like this (if his beliefs are true). Honestly even though it wouldn't surprise me that much, if aliens where known about or where talked to somehow, I would be pissed, as they could be planning so much without us all for the better of just them like always.. Why is the governments of the world so evil?!?! (Idk if all of them are evil but most!)

No matter if this is true or not everyone knows they are definitely hiding alot of SOMETHING and I guarantee they know amazing things that would help our world alot. They must REALLY believe we are all soooooooo stupid that we cant handle anything that they can and that they are way better smarter and deserve more then all the rest of us.. Sorry for the rant, I just cant believe this is how they act in real life... It makes me boil with anger I really wish they can get punished for there evil but of course not...

Not very surprised, look what they did to Tesla, look what they did to hemp. If any product, plant, technology, etc becomes a threat to the power then too taa loo, it don't exist anymore or it only exists under their control - you want a source check your mail box for your electrical bill and water bill

Credibility? Really people need credibility to the fact that technology is withheld, things are worse than I thought. Face palm....

Where do you get your controlled water?
Where do you get your controlled electricity?
Where do you get your controlled food?

Get in line for the iphone X.X.X.X.X.X.X.X.X really, still?

Good news

There are ETs that not even the others know of and they are watching.
They got a prime directive but they are very close to ignoring it if it gets worse.
