What you've shown in those pictures is smog, and it is not a necessary consequence of hydrocarbon combustion.

Good luck finding something equally as ominous looking to post.

If I wanted the world to fail, I’d get them to believe the nonsense this muppet is spouting!!

If i wanted the world to succeed, i would teach them to understand the meaning of...

S-U-S-T-A-I-N-A-B-I-L-I-T-Y!!!

However, although i disagree with this oil and greed addicts waffle, I find it disturbing that they have censored his opinion.

Free speech?? where??

Even the most optimistic estimations predict oil will only last us another 100 years before we suck it all up.

Really? Let me try that...
Scientist have proven that oil comes from unicorns and that you are wrong.
See how just saying something does not make it so?

Like it or not, it is going to get extremely expensive when we start to run extremely low.

Like it or not it IS extremely expensive and it has nothing to do with supply.

Run around in circles all you want, the chemicals released from burning oil based fuels aren't good for the environment, even if scientists are unable to agree on the environmental effects, there is an effect.

lol wut?
Even if they can't agree there is still something? Isn't that like saying "it does not matter if my friend is real or not because he is real?" And what i said was not running in circles it is fact. "scientists" claimed global cooling, claimed global warming and are now saying climate change-THAT is running in circles.

He's talking like we could could perpetually burn mass amounts of fuel and it would have no effect, as long as it helps us go about our every day business.

What like we are supposed to stop everyday business??? So far it has been fine, we have been burning this stuff forever now and the church of climatology is still struggling to come up with proof that it has any negative long term effects. What is more organic than crude oil?

It's an utterly Human based perspective with absolutely no consideration for the environment.

Yeah, humans tend to produce human based perspectives environments just exist.
Just face it,environmentalism is a faith based religion.

If I wanted the world to fail …

To gasp, not breath, to wilt, not flourish, to die, not live.

I would start with energy.

I’d give the world a free-for-all approach to oil and energy. I’d alleviate any guilt people may suffer for the environmental destruction, caused by their power hungry lifestyles, by showering them with useless, but addictive, gadgets and gizmos which rely on these energy sources. Give them flash homes, flash cars, elevate the powerful few above the poor majority and make them feel special.

I’d make cheap energy expensive, so that expensive energy would seem cheap, by banning the production of devices that can help people generate their own clean and free energy, which would unshackle them from the chains of the corporate oil giants.

I would empower unelected bureaucrats to all-but-outlaw the world’s most abundant sources of energy such as solar, wind and wave. And after banning its use, I’d make it illegal for countries to ship it overseas.

If I wanted the world to fail …

I’d use our schools to teach one generation of kids that our factories and our cars cause no harm to the environment, and I’d muster a straight face as I stood in front of dying forests waving my hand while saying “move along, nothing to see here”

And when it’s cold out, I would yell “YOU SEE, THERE IS NO PROBLEM, A SNOW FLAKE HAS FALLEN”.

I’d imply that the world’s cities and factories could run on oil for eternity, with no consequences. I’d teach children how to ignore the hypocrisy of worrying about the environment without being prepared to make sacrifices. Teach them that unrestricted, unregulated, logging, mining and farming is the only reason they are alive. I would teach children that there is this amazing entity called the “free market” that is the only force in human history to uplift the poor, establish the middle class and create lasting prosperity. When in fact it is this very market that enslaves them.

I’d promote prosperity through greed and ignorance, so that they will feel that the world owes them!

If I wanted the world to fail …

I would teach the world to hang on to old regulations that have failed time and time again. I would turn people like Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and Steve Jobs into mini Gods for all to look up to in awe. I would make them mock and shun the truly great people of the world... the indigenous tribe’s people who have lived in harmony with the planet for millennia. I would teach them that these people are savages whose lives would be bettered by us stealing their resources to feed our hunger for energy.

I would ridicule as “Tree Huggers” those who urge us to lower energy costs by developing clean and cheap alternatives. And when the evangelists of commonsense try to remind people about sustainability, I’d enlist a sympathetic media to encourage people to cover their ears and make “la la” sounds.

If I wanted the world to fail …

I would empower corporate bureaucracies seated in distant offices to bully people out of their dreams and their property rights. I’d send federal agents to raid activists homes for daring to speak out; I’d make it illegal for homeowners to grow their own food or raise chickens under health regulations, while selling them mass produced crops full of chemicals.

I’d make it almost impossible for farmers to farm unless they were owned by a corporate giant that encourages monoculture techniques heavily reliant of big pharma.

And because I believe in free markets, I’d I would flood the world with cheap tat and tell them that owning this tat proves that their lives are a success. I’d convince people that this would create jobs and be good for the economy.

If I wanted the world to fail …

For every concern, I’d turn a blind eye, I’d ignore the evidence and tell people to look away when spotted owls disappear. And when everyone learned the stunning irony that the owls were a keystone creature whose demise causes an unstoppable environmental collapse—it would already be decades too late.

If I wanted the world to fail …

I’d make it easier to trade useless items all over the planet. Encourage people to ship their mass produced tat thousands of miles and encourage others to buy them because they are “cool” – I would package this tat in bright colours and give them silly logos and tell people to worship them and their creators.

If I wanted the world to fail …

I would transform the environmental agenda from a document of conservation to an economic suicide pact. I would use the excuse of “but they are doing it” to cover our own crimes. I’d convince people that individualism is the only way.

If I wanted the world to fail …

I would prey on the greed and dark traits of all humans. I would only need to convince them that all of this is for their own prosperity. I would encourage nationalism, racism and xenophobia, under the guise of patriotism, and shout down those who disagree calling them “traitors”

And when the people we stole from wave the begging bowl under our noses I would call them lazy and encourage others to shun them. Social Darwinism is to be the mantra of this failing world.

I would then convince people that I don’t exist.

Yes and ATS suspends the accounts of those who question them as well and say things they don't like.

How dare you come to ATS with an accusation against Twitter when ATS itself and it' moderators do the same thing...?

If I even invited discussion on this subject I'd be banned for the fourth time... so I won't... this time...!

The behaviour of large companies like Twitter or FB is outrageous.

Please people, do not support businesses like that. Have a backbone.

environmentalism is a faith based religion.

No, "environmentalism" is rational empathic care for the world we live in.

Belief in pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo such as global warming is faith based.

You are confused.

PS - in response to your question about oil:

there is an effect

That's all I said. And it's completely true. To state the chemicals released by burning oil have zero reaction with the environment is completely naive. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know it.

Sir... you are nothing but a genius.

Brilliantly wise words my friend.

Cheers.

EDIT: I tell you what would be awesome. If you made a response video titled "If I wanted the world to fail". That would be so monstrously epic.

carbon monoxide poisoning is just weakness of character.
what you need to do is stop being jealous of successful people and get a real job.
there are obviously enough jobs for every single one of us to be a powerful CEO
and all this talk about limited resources sounds suspiciously like communism.

...perturbing that this got taken down. even idiot sycophants deserve their free speech.
funny that they compare this to coverage of tehran though.

Wow just read an extract from the video. Really it looks to me like a lot of anti environmental rhetoric based on nothing more than scare tactics and hot air.

Even if we can't all agree on what this guy says, the fact that he's putting it
out there that there are people causing America to fail by design is by itself
noteworthy. Too many sheeple still think what's happening to this country
is just a natural progression of things.

The Right strikes back. LOL.

"WE DEMAND OUR GOD-GIVEN RIGHT TO POLLUTE! AND WE WILL HAVE IT! WE WILL TURN THIS PLANET INTO AN OIL AND GRAVEL COVERED, RADIOACTIVE BLAST CRATER, AND WE WILL DO SO NO MATTER WHAT!"

In fairness, he does have some valid points. I do not consider either the Right or the Left, in exclusion, to be the answer; but the Right do represent one end of the spectrum, and they do deserve to be heard.

If I wanted America to fail, you know what I'd do? ..... Nothing. America is failing right now, in virtually every way I can think of. Morally, economically, the (in)justice system, the elections, schools, healthcare, our food, I mean the list literally encompasses any and everything you can think of. You know, the only thing we are really good at anymore is deceit, killing people, and arrogantly justifying our own selfish actions. Once, we were a proud people but what do we have to be proud about now? Obesity, debt, the slaughter of innocent people and ruining of the worlds ecosystem? You don't have to do anything at all to watch this country fail except sit back with a Bud Light and bag of Cheetos and turn on the tube!

If I wanted to combat a video such as 'If I wanted America to fail'.....

I would post a string of photos from where?

Are those pics from America? My guess would be that most of them are from Asia.

The only real reason why dialup is a problem, is because at the time when dialup was current, the Internet wasn't commercialised, so there weren't ads everywhere. People also willingly embrace bandwidth inefficiency at this point, as well. Windows Media in particular are terrible codecs in terms of compression, yet many people use them because it's convenient.

If you know what you're doing, dialup can be very workable. You can also download video with it, if you leave the computer on overnight.
