That's what people kept telling me too and those planes do fly out of Dobbins and some test planes out of Lockheed, but it's not a plane I'm hearing,
at least not a visible or nearby one or one that it unclassified. And if it is a plane, it sure as heck flies REALLY slow because this sound lasts for
from 20-80 minutes. It has plane-like moments, but then you realize that it's not. I really can't explain more...it sort of sustains a "hover" then
seems to move on and come back and move on and come back...almost as if a fleet of 100 or more planes are all going by very slowly (one of the
explanations I came up with in my head over the past months). But again, nothing at all is visible.
I understand what you are saying, and for all I know it's not, But to me, since I've been around these things forever, always sounds like i'm in a war
zone(lol). I've heard them idle upwards of 30 minutes or so, and sometimes depending on their "mission" they could idle 2 - 3 there. The sound isn't
the sound as if they fly, it just sounds like they are waiting to take off.
Perhaps soon I can record some sounds of them idling to take off, I'd do it tonight but they don't seem to be doing much, I can hear it flying around,
but it's too far to get a good sound. When the wind blows my way, they seem really loud, as if they are in my backyard sometimes.
But, I haven't really listened to enough of these to determine what it is, I just think that sound is an AC-130 gunship.
Have you heard it often enough to maybe drive closer to it or..?
Lol, woops thought you were the OP. but do you have a link of the sounds you hear? send in a u2u or whatnot?
