Ok....been reading the sky sounds threads and thought they were very interesting but didn't think much of them until I heard them myself tonight. Went outside for a smoke with my fiancee and heard a low humming that got louder and louder then quieter. I recorded it for a minute but it went on until I went back inside about 30 minutes ago and is still going now. Anyone else in Atlanta, or Sandy Springs area able to hear this?

I put it up on youtube so you guys can hear. That's me in the video and you can hear the low hum then it gets louder then quieter then louder again. It sounds like a large fleet of prop planes way above the clouds (its cloudy here tonight).

Anywho....let me know what you think. If I had a better recording device I would use it but alas....I only have my iphone.

I am giving you a star and flag for doing what you did, recording and posting the sound.

It is kind of faint, but can be heard in the background. I am guessing that you have heard planes in the air before and that you believe that this noise is different.

S&F

This is becoming all too common...

I have now taken a deeper interest in this.

Here is a copy/paste from a response on a similar thread today that I posted....

(People have started to compare the sound to trumpets as well as heavy machinery. But the 'trumpets' responses have increased...Dbriefed here on ATS quoted several biblical scriptures, describing the 7 seals, the horses, with beasts, angels and trumpets....and here was my response )

As a strong believer in Extraterrestrial intelligent life, and the Ancient Alien theory, here is my 'take' on what those scriptures mean-

Horse: vessel for transportation, as referred to in 'chariot of fire'

The seal being broken: A door opening, as in a door on a vessel

Horns: the sound that the 'space vessel' makes

Angels: aliens ('messengers', as in clerk-level....assistants)

God(s): aliens ( leader, commander, specialist)

Rapture: mothership arrival for mass abduction

I've been hearing this noise near Powder Springs for MONTHS now (maybe a year), usually at 3 am-4 am and have reported it more than once in others' threads on ATS, but I've never seen anyone mention the Atlanta area till now.

It varies in intensity and usually I'm too big a chicken to go outside and the few times that I did try to record it, I got nothing that sounded like anything I was hearing. It sounds way different to the human ear, and it ebbs and flows...almost vacillates? You think it's over and it restarts maybe with a bit of a different pitch. I've pretty much resigned myself to the nut bin.

Thanks for recording and posting this, Vasa Croe....you may have inspired me to try again.

P.S. I haven't heard anything tonight, but now I'm listening...will let you know.

Too bad you didn't have a better recording, but your quick presence of mind to capture anything at all is commendable. Sounds like a low, droning plane engine from what I can make out. Like one that may have been circling, hence the louder and quieter volumes. I don't know how loud it was in person for you, but thanks very much for your post.

That sounds like the hum of a C-130 gunship, I live near an Air Base, and that is the sound I hear while they are about to taxi onto the runway for take off, sometimes they can idle there for a long time.

unless I just don't hear the other part?
S&F for others to add input.

Thanks for posting. I have yet to hear anything different than weather or planes (live by an airport about 20 miles or so, probably less as the crow flies though).

Now I do feel the house vibrating a lot, especially when I go to bed. At first I thought it was just my body relaxing, but that just doesn't happen for several hours almost nightly. My tempur pedic bed absorbs a lot- their is only 1 thing I miss springy beds for, but not having a bad back was well worth the cost of the bed plus my loss of a we bit o the rough n tumble.

That's what people kept telling me too and those planes do fly out of Dobbins and some test planes out of Lockheed, but it's not a plane I'm hearing, at least not a visible or nearby one or one that it unclassified. And if it is a plane, it sure as heck flies REALLY slow because this sound lasts for from 20-80 minutes. It has plane-like moments, but then you realize that it's not. I really can't explain more...it sort of sustains a "hover" then seems to move on and come back and move on and come back...almost as if a fleet of 100 or more planes are all going by very slowly (one of the explanations I came up with in my head over the past months). But again, nothing at all is visible.

Here's a link that I found....

Strange sky sounds from across the world (listen)

How are all these sounds, recorded in various locations world-wide, so similar???

that is a great question and is mentioned as both a reason to think these are real and a reason to think it's all just a bunch of horse sh*t... I don't know what to think still but i'm leaning towards the BS side of it all... or maybe some are real and most are bs... but until i hear the sounds heard on most of these youtube videos myself, i can't believe its anything other than a hoax. :\ ...not that im sad about it.

I understand what you are saying, and for all I know it's not, But to me, since I've been around these things forever, always sounds like i'm in a war zone(lol). I've heard them idle upwards of 30 minutes or so, and sometimes depending on their "mission" they could idle 2 - 3 there. The sound isn't the sound as if they fly, it just sounds like they are waiting to take off.

Perhaps soon I can record some sounds of them idling to take off, I'd do it tonight but they don't seem to be doing much, I can hear it flying around, but it's too far to get a good sound. When the wind blows my way, they seem really loud, as if they are in my backyard sometimes.

But, I haven't really listened to enough of these to determine what it is, I just think that sound is an AC-130 gunship.

Have you heard it often enough to maybe drive closer to it or..?

Lol, woops thought you were the OP. but do you have a link of the sounds you hear? send in a u2u or whatnot?

Well we're a USAF family and have lived under the Dobbins/Lockheed flight path for over 20 years, so I'm pretty sure they're not planes. We're used to those sounds both in the air and on the runways taxiing and warming up and testing engines. Unless, as I speculated, they're something new or huge or slower. I even went so far as to call Dobbins and ask if they have some sort of supply planes leaving or returning to the base every morning. They said nope.

Yeah, I'm not the OP but I've been waiting for someone in Atlanta to report also hearing the noises.

In Phoenix after the flyover of the huge triangle, our friendly, helpful government sent up A-10s with flares to "explain" the sighting. Perhaps they are doing (or will do) the same thing to defuse the mystery sounds.

They WILL have to respond shortly, and it won't be to announce that the ETs are here.
As with UFO sightings, their experts will claim most will be common sounds carrying well in the cool air with a couple not fully explained but assumed to be benign anyway. Check out the Canadian sound put on ATS today. Simply everyday electromagnetic signs the professor said. Move along....

Fair enough, but I honestly wouldn't know if aliens were landing, or if iran was bombing us as I am just so used to hearing all kinds of planes, see weird things, and hear tons of stuff being blown up.. So that's why I have to rely on people who don't see the "norm" as I do

I grew up here and Dobbins is nearby. I have heard many many prop planes on the runway, overhead, and been to numerous airshows. The only thing I can think of that this sound compares to is the hum of a squadron of large prop planes above the cloud cover in the air like what you hear/see in the old WW movies with all the paratroopers about to jump out. Very low humming that fluctuates in intensity. Been going on for a while now. About to go back outside and check for it again.

Thanks for the replies and if I can I will get another recording.

I have to be honest. I watch way too many Sci-Fi movies, so I guess that will explain the little nagging thought that plays around in the back of my mind.

What is these noises are a step in a producing a conditioning response. Everybody is keyed up about the noises, so every one is waiting to hear them and hopefully record them; so as soon as the noise starts in their area, they run outside. This will make it a lot easier to drop the net and rapture up a good number of us in one fell swoop.

It will also make it easier to pick the rest of us off one by one. Hell it will probably be more sporting and a hell of a lot more fun to track down the smarter ones that stayed inside.

Before you all tear me shreds remember my disclaimer.

I have to say, I'm really pleased to see so many long standing ATS members reporting personal accounts of hearing these strange noises. Makes me feel much better about the two events I heard.

What the heck is going on?

Sound is still going on unfortunately there is too much background noise right now on the streets nearby to get a good recording of the low hum. My fiancee even called me outside at one point to tell me to listen because it had begun to fluctuate louder then softer again. Right now it is still just a very low hum.

Headed to bed....will try again tomorrow.
