what will happen with all those soldiers in hostile territory when the US economy crashes.How many troops are there in Afghanistan a 150 000? Those soldiers would be stranded between Iran,Pakistan and the Taliban's with no sea route out or resupply .

USA is positioning it self for the worst Empire disintegration in human history.Even the British knew when it was time to pack the bags and go home so to save some of the empire (what is now the Commonwealth).USA has most of its troops in hostile territory,at home a very high % of people who are dependent of government to survive and 2 mayor political parties from which one has a large membership of socialists and the other of religious zealots.

The USA is basically crying for an economic crash,mayor protests and chaos,a civil war and leaving a big part of your military stranded at the mercy of your enemies.

Why do you think the U.S. is doing so poorly economically?

spreading peace by dropping bombs? i dont think so, that is how we created terrorists, terrorists are born with the hatred of when we bomb them, take over them,and make them our puppets i would predict in the near future there will be some Libyans or maybe more who would turn to terror.

Because we bombed them and we are telling them on how they should govern there country.

As for my comment J.Son79 do you realize we live in a economic global crisis? there's a Global Recession i guess you must be rich so it doesn't effect you then

Your forgetting one thing ATS is largely is anti war, its only one mod who was brainwashed by the war propaganda.

He's not brainwashed. And there's a lot of people on here that are not anti-war, but those same people that are not anti-war are also not pro-war. If you know the region and know how Iran is and the dangers the nuclear weapons program would birth, then you'd understand why it's so important and why war is the last option.

About the other post, a lot of people just seem to think the U.S. is broke because of debt owed. 60% of that debt is owed right here in the states. Did you know that? We're not as bad off financially as it seems. You can believe the hype if you want, but we're not. And yes, I'm so rich it doesn't affect me. I'm an Elitist you know? Fox news watchin, Pro-War pig, right?

Then how come there were no Iraqi terrorists around 91 and before 2001? Sure, there may have been recently, but that was only because they had no other means to fight back. And we never bombed the Saudi's, but yet they flew an airplane into our towers. We trained and armed Al Queda to fight the Russians in the 70's. But after that they never went after the Russians.

Where's your proof of this? I bet Libya turns out to be 10 times better than before in the next 10 years.

You do know propaganda works both ways right? You do know it can work to turn you against a country the same way it can get you behind a country. You do know this, correct?

Newt Gingrich...supporters were just cheering him on. They were glad he won. To me their cheers are normal; they favor their candidate and are proud to encourage him.

I personally do not favor Mr. Gingrich...but I do understand why his supporters cheer him on.

So the thinking here is we need to get rid of Obama so we put in Gingrich. Is he not part of the Neocons. Do you really think he will make changes that dont benefit his millionaire buddies while maybe throwingf so scra[ps to the poor and middle class. It just blows me away that anybody would support Newt for president. The man is a cheat and a liar. It so offends me that he says the $1M+ that he got from Freddie Mac was for his historical expertise that I want to SCREAM! He was a paid lobbiest and he is lying about it. He lies, he cheats he steals...yes, they all do it...but he is blatant and his actions are egregious. He is trash, slime, the absolute worst that America has to offer...Yet there are people who actually support him. All hope is lost, my fellow countrymen have all gone senile.

Newt should be in jail for violating the lobby rules, and yet people talk about him like they think he should be president. WTF is wrong with you people?

I think the OP is referring to the notion that they're chanting the name of their country in a fashion that is reminiscent of the way in which a cult chants. Can't speak for him/her, but, personally, that gave me cold chills and reminders of 1984.

And this is different from people chanting "Yes We CAN" HOW? If anything, this is much less ominous, given that the yes we can chants were repeating a slogan rather than an act of spontanious patriotism.

Found this flashback article when Time Mag named him person of the year and actually liked him. I have been reading interviews of him and his own writings going back 30plus years and never was he liberal. he has not waive red in his conservative views and has always admitted his flaws and the fact that he is and imperfect human just like the rest of us.
