You can't conceive that our military could do it based on a few fun videos but you CAN conceive that a handful of inexperienced Muslims could?

I think someone's been watching too much Zeitgeist. Those videos about the same par as someone who thinks that tens of thousands of people did this, and got away. They wouldn't even need that much training to pull the attacks off. The shape of a plane makes it want to go 'up. which is why engine failure won't automatically send you into a nosedive. Between that, and the computerized navigation make those sorts of aircraft easier to fly.

Not to mention all the fancy computerized controls. Flying a plane into a building makes no sense if you're the US government they are plenty of other ways you could use (and which would make more sense) such as copycat Timothy McVeigh. I also imagine it would be pretty damn noticeable if maintenance started doing work in the elevator shafts. It is implausible and unnecessarily complicated.

The simplest answer is generally the correct answer. It is much more plausible to have a few guys with flight training responsible. I don't think you understand how many people have to be involved for something like this. You're involving multiple branches of the military, dozens and dozens of units, and the complicity of every single person involved. The military and government love to gossip amongst each other. I've seen pictures and heard stories about events or raids the officially never occurred (and again very few people are in 'the know' so to speak. People talk, take pictures, and keep mementos. That's just human nature. There is no way to ensure full silence, or prevent pictures/videos when you are dealing with tens of thousands of people. If it was so easy for the government to pull off 9/11 then embarrassing incidents like Abu Ghraib would have never seen the light of day.

You would need a massive coordination of logistics, personnel, the FAA, NORAD, simultaneous command with and service branches. Talk to someone in the military about the mountain of work required to just move a unit for training in the States. If it looks like a duck, and quacks like it's a duck then it's a duck. Don't go looking for zebras.

The same principle applies to the JFK assassination. People don't like to believe that crazy communist Lee Harvey Oswald. The same thing applies to 9/11. The true sheeple here are those who need meaning so badly tha they concoct ridiculously complicated 'explanations.'

Gotta be the idiot tin foil hat thing about how these 19 evil Arabs with boxcutters did 911 because "they hate our freedom", even tho they couldn't even fly a tiny Cessna and were goofing off as loudly as possible at CIA-connected airports in the USA and on Jack Abramoff's casino boat and lived next door to the Israeli "art student" spy gang and at least half of them were alive and well after 911, and there's zero evidence that any of them were aboard any 911 plane anyway.

And they were commanded by this evil genius who lived in a series of gigantic super caverns in the Himalayan foothills - woops, scratch that, a slum apartment next door to Paki army HQ! - and this evil genius just happened to be on the CIA payroll code named Tim Osmond and a member of the family that financed Baby Doc Bush' first biz venture, and then his whole family was secretly flown OUT of the USA right after 911, and then secret agents killed him last year even tho he had died in Dec. 2001, and then they immediately threw the evidence in the sea because that was Islamic law, or so they told us...

And the whole nutbag conspiracy theory goes downhill from there.

That sounds like the makings of a good Tom Clancy novel, but is utterly lacking any corroborating evidence showing it actually happened

you wanna talk more about that somewhere?

Sure. Here's where they told the suckers Osama bin Boogyman lived, in a gigantic super-cavern:

But not just one gigantic super-cavern. He had a lot of them! Here is Secretary of [sic] Defense Donald Rumsfeld instructing the suckers that Bin Boogy had not one of 'em BUT MANY OF THEM!

What happened, did he get evicted and have to move in to that little slum apartment next door to Paki Army HQ?

They don't expect you to even remember any of their crap!!!

Yeah, tell me about "conspiracy theories"!

Why is it so implausible? He certainly had the money, time, and

As for why he constantly moved around: when you've every western government, military, and out agency out to get you dead or alive then staying a single location is a sure way to eventually get busted. Pablo Escobar did the same thing until the Colombian government cornered and shot him. Saddam Hussein and Moammar Gaddafi also let us on a pretty good chase. Not to mention they were found in urban settings. It's a lot easier to go house to house than running around the mountainous Afghan/Pakistan border.

You really think we are the only living beings in the entire Universe?

Kind of selfish and egotistical dont you think.

Whales and Dolphins created earthquake/Tsunami to retaliate against Japans whale and dolphin fishing

^^^ gotta be the most IMPLAUSIBLE conspiracy I have ever heard. I'll take reptilian politicians, devilish popes and HAARP controlling the weather over this. Oh and I'll take crop circles as form of alien communication over this lol

Still find this to be one of the more humorous threads on here......

I've been out of the conspiracy loop for a while now, but some of the relatively recent ones about Obama have been pretty odd. Like, the one where people claimed he was the reincarnation of some Egyptian pharaoh. It sounds really neat but obviously it's hard to swallow.

Also, on the subject of reincarnation - the idea that Keanu Reeves is immortal (or a vampire or what have you) and that through the centuries he's been Jesus, Charlemagne, an Egyptian pharaoh, some French actor and a bunch of other famous historical figures.

I like Keanu Reeves, but honestly, I'd hope that some immortal who's been around for all of modern human history would have slightly better acting abilities.

WAIT...if Obama's the reincarnation of a pharaoh, and Keanu Reeves used to be an ancient pharaoh...maybe what this really means is that Obama is actually Keanu Reeves and they were the same pharaoh? Or maybe Keanu Reeves is an immortal Egyptian pharaoh who's grown bored with his life and has taken to using his unrivaled acting abilities to masquerade as a world leader so he can prank the entire world stage and play havoc.

If I think this over, I'm sure I can remember a couple other kooky ones, but this really stands out to me. Well, this, and Time Cube's a classic as always.

UPDATE: I can't remember any very clearly, but some really great (great as in incredibly goofy and poorly thought out) theories have arisen from people misinterpreting words and languages. I vaguely recall one where somebody thought that language was a magical 'matrix' used to brainwash people and the only evidence they had was the word 'spelling,' like in spelling words. Apparently, because the word 'spelling' sounds similar to 'spells,' like the magical kind, this is evidence that language is black magic.

The fundamental part of that theory makes sense. Language -is- a human construct, so of course it has limitations and it also has a lot of power over how we see and describe the world around us. But saying that every human language ever created is actually an intricate black magic spell to enslave people is a little bit too far.

I can't count how many times I've shown this thread to people for their reaction. They always start cracking up then for some reason say "you read this site."

Oh how they don't know ATS is great for many reasons

There is no such thing as a plausible conspiracy theory, simply because none of you can come up with hard evidence to backup any of your wild claims. You'd all be laughed out of court.
But don't let delusions of grandeur stand in your way.

For me I think it'd have to be that every single living creature on this planet, emerged and evolved from a single celled organism that floated around in some little pile of muck. Also that Humans are the highest and only form of intelligent life.

Also for all the people who are mocking those who believe 9/11 was orchestrated by the government, you should watch this.

There is another shorter, 2nd version, of this documentary if youd rather watch that.

That the sky is one BIG Hologram and that the governments of the world are going to stage an invasion/contact event with it.
Can you just imagine the kind of power source that would be needed to pull something like this off?
Oh and BTW where exactly would all those "In the know" be hiding...underground?
Uh, nevermind that last question, haha.
