If they were the "enemies" of America, your oil would be God knows how much more expensive because guess what? Saudi Arabia is one of your main suppliers of oil!

one common mistake christians make is that they think islam is a single block. every muslim is the same. Thats not correct. look at christianity. you got protestans, catholics, ortohodox and infact these guys killed eachother for ages. ı am sure there are some sects of christians in U.S.A who dont drive cars. I have to say I love "nusnus" When I go to a cafe in arabic countries they laugh at me when I ask for it, "oh she just learn that probably" not!

Forget the ignorance here, they havent been to Saudi or any Arab country to really see the real Islam. They probably heard of Islam when Fox News and CNN broke the news on 9/11. Islam has a bad name in America because of the media, why? Because they dont want anyone to know of the real power of the Arabas in the world but instead portrait them as stupid, ignorant, backward people.

I for one, am marry to one. Lovely white South African man who follows Sufism. Ironic as well as his mom is from a Jewish family and decided to convert to Islam becaus eit just simply suited her better. Her family has a real difficult time about accept this. I love his family, I come from a Catholic background and there wasnt any problem in the marriage and the majority of the community he comes from are all white Muslims, few of them are Pakistanis, Malays, etc.

I do think though a lot of women prpobably do want to drive and do other stuff in Arabia but as we know with our own goverments (the US losing democracy and freedom of speech and the us in the UK having cuts, change in educcation and the threat to the NHS) IT IS NOT UP TO THE PEOPLE HOW THE GOVERMENT DO THEIR JOB.

Saudi is a country with a lot of corruption and desiguality. They are suffering with freedom of speech and the monarchy are the richest people in the country with a very unequal way of distributing the wealth!

I have seen many girls from Saudi here that CHANGE so much and boys too! The boys grow their hair, listen to rock music, dress with leather jackets, wear afros, etc. and the girls, dress with minis, no scarfs, go drinking with the boys etc. They do want the liberalism, they do and what happens when they come here to study ENglish? They go into extreme! and they suffer when that happens!
I work with language students and I met people from all over the world everyday and Saudis come to ENgland every year in masses and one of teh reasons is to escape their jail. There is a jail there but because of the GOVERMENT.

Remember they have a monarchy is not like at leats they ahve the illusion like us that they can elect their goverments.

They are trying to scare people into not allowing women to drive. It is not working though because people do have common sense and realize there is no correlation between women drivers and virgins or gay people.

The Amish are not forced to do any of this. And if an amish wants to drive a car they are certainly allowed to do that. They need to leave their church but they wont be beaten if they do.
