I guess is what I am saying is...Cain (if the allegations are accurate) likely succeeded a few times. Those women are out there, but their story is slightly more embarrassing...they slept with him. Not sure if they will come forward.

That might be Gloria Allred's ace in the hole, (or she's bluffing to bide time so she can convince the other women to come forward).
I imagine if there was a true full blown sex story to tell, it would have come out by now.... unless it's to come out if Cain is nominated... humm.

Here is where I am lost. Not many of you on ATS are so loyally defending Cain but the few of you that are share some odd overlap. I see many of you are the same people that spent a great deal of time complaining that our current president was not looked into enough, not vetted properly, not thoroughly investigated, and not well known enough. I guess that is all just team sports then?

Those who questioned Obama the candidate were drowned out and demonized.

Who in your opinion has been probed beyond insanity?

All politicians, judges, and high ranking law officials should go through the same as who your answer would be.

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain’s wife says her husband would have to have a “split personality” if he sexually harassed women the way that recent allegations claim.

It has to be said....exchange Michelle Obama for Cain's wife and the headline on Fox would be...

Michelle Obama says husband has split personality!!!!

I know you are a bright poster....you can acknowledge the difference in content can't you?

On one hand we had "Black Agenda" "Hates Whites" "Secret Muslim" "Terrorist" "Illegal Kenyan" "Gay Murderer" etc. etc.

And here in contrast we have public witnesses/alledged victims and multiple court setlements, and yet the "liberal" media outlets have been careful to not to outright convict him.

"Those who questioned Obama" were not drowned out, they had a megaphone, and as far as "demonized" ....by only those with a rational mind and the content and outright falsehoods warranted it, not the act of questioning.

The public accusations against Cain warranted multiple court settlements. Most of the accusations against Candidate Obama warranted "Demonizing"...they were easily debunked, fear mongering lies and often with racist overtones.

i dont understand what is so hard to grasp. an innocent man does not pay off people who are accusing them of wrong doing. it just doesnt happen.
but a guilty man will pay off people to keep up their act of innocence and to keep the truth from surfacing.
PERIOD. there is no other explanation or stupid excuse, it is what it is!

If some woman accused me, in my place of business, of sexually inappropriate behavior and I was innocent....

I wouldn't pay her off; I would hire a mad dog lawyer and sue her for defamation of character. Why didn't Cain do this hmmmmm?

Cain did not make the payments. The company did. Sexual harassment is something that is between an employee and the COMPANY they work for. If someone accuses a person of sexual harassment, the COMPANY is liable, not the alleged offender. Cain didn't pay these women off. The NRA did. Cain didn't even have to sign anything.

Then why didn't the NRA challenge the accusations if they were untrue? Had some of Cains coworkers witnessed something perhaps? I'm sure they had a stable of great lawyers. They knew....and were just in damage control mode. Now the skeletons are out of the closet and we get a glimpse into Cain's character.

Just because I like scrambled eggs...Does that mean that it was Congresses responsibility to address the accusations Monica Lewinsky made? Was it us "the people" that were obligated to silence Lewinsky?
Not President Clintons job?

I know the difference, but it is a useful thought excersise as it has some questions about responsibility worth asking.

Herman Cain was named in those allegations. While the company settled it, you can not tell me they didn't sit him down and ask how it should be handled. He was the CEO to boot. It wasn't a simple HR issue....and regardless of what anyone claims, they sure as hell would have fought it if they thought they could easily win in court and they sure as hell didn't settle before they found out Cain's side of the story and what they decided to do was pay the women off. I suspect there are a few X-NRA lawyers out there that are biting their lips. They talk...they get disbarred.

From what I learned and remember, when the accusations were made, the NRA did an internal investigation to determine whether or not their claims had any basis. I have no idea how thorough an investigation. It could have been they asked Cain, "Did you do it" and he denied it. But deny it he did and there was no way to prove the women's cases, nor to prove Cain innocent or guilty, so they (the women and the NRA) came to an agreement whereby they could leave the company (where they were no longer comfortable) and be compensated.

It's possible there were witnesses. I'd love to get my hands on the investigation findings. There was another male witness, but he worked for Perry or had a D behind his name and was immediately discredited, of course.

I think the company probably did challenge the accusation at first, but in the end, figured it would be in their best interest to pay these women off and shut them up. It sure doesn't look good for Cain that the company didn't just brush off the charges. But it's not enough for me to feel sure.

Nice of old boyfriend to man up now! Let me say, had this been my boyfriend or husband and I explained what had taken place earlier that evening, he would either be paying the culprit a visit, or we would have headed straight for the police station and reported that I had been sexually assaulted.

Any thinking person can see this is all about show boating. She supposedly said "Mr. Cain, you know I have a boyfriend". Like if she didn't then it would be alright? Ladies I ask you, if some man had touched your crotch and then forced your head towards his lap, would this be your response? It sure wouldn't have been mine I would have swung first and asked questions later!

I disagree, IF he has done these things, and/or has shown a habitual behavior there is no way I would ever vote for him. As for Obama, being a relatively young nobody with little experience who was vaulted to the role of presidency mainly due to the color of his skin bothered me more than his socialism ideals.

You are talking out of your ass by including Cain. You know damn well that Professor/Senator Barack Obama Esquire actually had some political experience where as Cain...? Right.

As for Cain, I see many of you have tried and convicted him already based on what?

Many of us? List us by name and explain how you were able to arrive at out guilt in your accusation without you being a hypocrite. Be careful because you might accidentally run into reality when quote mining for your case.

We have two woman who one of them says it was of little consequences and the other has basically accused him of sexual assault 14 years to late. This woman has had a somewhat checker past that makes it not too far of a stretch for her to do this for money or 15 minutes of fame. The rest of all this is still smoke and mirrors with the press pushing hard, dying to get more.

I counted 5 women and find it hard to understand how you know so much about them to determine their guilt in all this, again without being a hypocrite.

Is there more? Maybe. Could this all be blown out of proportion by the press and one woman with a habitual history of these types of accusations? Maybe too, but now I see posts of people starting to blame the RNC if no further evidence comes forward since he is already convicted in your eyes.

You see that coming from me or did you just decide to toss your rant in my direction? Because when you complain to me about $#&* I ain't doing, it kind of loses all its momentum to anyone that it might have actually mattered to. You get that, right? Who are you talking to here? Plus, I count 5 women but you say tomato, I say 5.

As of right now I think Allred has created a perfect accusation, for if her client just said "he put his hand on my leg and tried to kiss me" we all would have said "so what" and yawned. So she said "he grabbed me in the crotch and tried to force my head to his, but when I said NO he stopped and took me back to my hotel room". This paints the perfect picture of disgust for the man while adding in the "NO" to not push it too far that might open the door for official criminal charges that would most likely not go well for her client and open the door for reprisal suing from Cain.

That is quite a delusional spin. He grabbed her head and pulled it toward HIS CROTCH translates to you as a mistaken attempt at a rejected kiss?
I almost took you seriously and you were making good points right up until you left the planet with that one.

I think he is done no matter what further comes out or not...

Why would you think that? There is no shortage of Republicans with sex scandals still in office. I never voted for anyone that paid hookers to allow him to suck on their toes but someone on the right keeps doing it.

Job well done Allred....

edit on 14-11-2011 by Xtrozero because: (no reason given)

Allred's job was to take down Herman Cain? Apparently all they needed was a morning show DJ to do that or perhaps one or two questions about foreign policy. The man was hired by the Koch brothers to be a black man the right could have for their own and all he is trying to do is sell books. If you think that Allred so easily sunk him when so many others in the ranks survived far worse then it sounds like you had little faith in him to begin with. Or you really think she is an amazing woman.

Are you seriously sitting on this website that is the birther goldmine that it is claiming that people could not question Obama or else they would get picked on so he just got a pass?
Did you vote for him or else you would get picked on too? Are you suggesting the people that did vote for him only did so out of fear of being picked on? Picked on by whom? Some fringe minority? Get real. No one stopped anyone from questioning anything. If you failed to do so, too bad.

Unfortunately, this was covered. Candidate Obama was claimed to be gay and even had a former gay lover murdered. Yeah, that was brought up and looked into wasn't it? So sit down, shut up, and allow this to go on until the conclusion. If he has nothing to hide, then you have nothing to defend him for.

I guess that all depends on what you mean by probed but I can tell you that in front of my I do not have either available version of Cain's birth certificate nor do I have millions of pleas for him to release his medical and school records. So take that for what that is worth.

I forgot to respond to this yesterday. Sorry. But yes, I do agree that Cain surely had something to do with the settlement. I was just trying to address the idea that sexual harassment in the workplace is between the accuser and the company. It's possible that Cain could be innocent and the company would still pay off these women... POSSIBLE, not probable. We just don't know enough to make that conclusion. I don't anyway.

To those defending Cain, do you also think Jerry Sandusky is innocent? Just curious if you think this is smear tactic against him, too...

4-Way in Iowans. Cain, Paul, Romney, Gingrich.

A Bloomberg News poll shows Cain at 20 percent, Paul at 19 percent, Romney at 18 percent and Gingrich at 17 percent among the likely attendees with the caucuses that start the nominating contests seven weeks away.

It's a slight first place, Herman Cain leading the polls. I guess if you're going to be targeted for a scandal, this is the best kind to hit you

Lots of accusations, innuendo's and years of time between here say and sloppy comedic wanna-be victims.

Herman Cain will either be the president or vice president.
Everybody likes his plain speaking answers.

Also, 9 - 9 - 9 looks like a great plan.

Yours or hers? That is not what she said.

"He also grabbed my head and brought it towards his crotch," Bialek told reporters last week. "I was very, very surprised and very shocked.

I said, what are you doing?
You know I have a boyfriend.
This isn't what I came here for.

Mr. Cain said, 'You want a job, right?' I asked him to stop, and he did."
