Do you have ANY proof for your claims and accusations? Doesn't look like it. Did you ask the Libyan people? Or did you watch statements of the rebels on the MSM?

I browsed this thread and noticed that only one side could document their arguments. I remember Russian Intelligence noticing people that the air-strikes that opened the campaign did not occur(1). There were no fighter-jets attacking the protesters in the streets in Libya prior to the invasion. The results for the people in that country is yet to be determined, but the infrastructure is destroyed.(2) I suspect this was an act of piracy done to secure oil to the world economy to get some growth, so the rioting would stop. A higher volume of oil on the world-markets would lower the oil-prices and make growth easier. It would also be good for the dollar, because most oil is traded in dollars. Because there are riots happening many places in the world now, and it's spreading.(3) There are much uncertainty about the future oil-contract in Libya. Because they will be re-negotiated. There will be elections in a while. So, what happens to the Arab-spring experiment remains to be unseen. Although, I think the powers to be will not attempt anything like this at a later point, because now they know how volatile protests can be. It's back to conventional invasions. Iran will perhaps be done in 2012 if a republican comes into office.

There was an interview with an Irish-Libyan on about a month ago, on Irish TV. He lived in Ireland about 16 years I think it was, and gave up his job, and left his family so he could go fight in the revolution. He spoke of being forced out of Libya by Gadaffi, didn't seem like the Al-Qaeda type to me, I'll see if I can find it, but he obviously had very strong feeling to uproot like that.

He was a western propaganda plant/actor/faker/liar, just like the numerous other reported first world
citizens who 'felt compelled' to give up everything and go fight the righteous fight.
BS fodder for the naive and unquestioning MSM masses.

What possible reason could "tptb" have for wanting to convince a few Irish people that the intervention in Libya was justified, so much so that they'd plant someone in Ireland 15-20 years beforehand?

Originally posted by ProtoplasmicTraveler The headline ought to read Tactical Nuke Use By Gaddafi Suspected by Donald Duck. The article also suggests the Oklahoma Bombing was a tactical nuclear device! Seems like yet another sensationalized accusation of the kind that gave us WMD in Iraq. Just a lot of unsubstantiated gibberish designed to enflame and anger people and get people here thinking about paying for another war for oil. How many times are the American people going to get fooled by the same old song and dance, wrap it in a flag, and have God bless it, and presto whamo American bombs start snuffing out 'collateral damage' everywhere.

Benghazi's importance to Libya and possibly the World:
also explains why Qaddafi has come down really harsh on these "rebels"

While many countries in the Middle East and North Africa bicker over water rights, Libya has tapped into an aquifer of 'fossil water' to change its topography – turning sand into soil. The 26-year, $20 billion project is nearly finished. …The Great Man-Made River, which is leader Muammar Qaddafi's ambitious answer to the country’s water problems, irrigates Libya’s large desert farms. The 2,333-mile network of pipes ferry water from four major underground aquifers in southern Libya to the northern population centers. Wells punctuate the water’s path, allowing farmers to utilize the water network in their fields. ... “Water is more precious for us than oil. ... Water here in Libya, it’s life.”

after all why would Qaddafi want to damage or destroy a 26-year, $20+ billion project that he considers his life's work?

World Cheers as the CIA Plunges Libya Into Chaos www.informationclearinghouse.info...

How was Libya doing under the rule of Gadaffi? How bad did the people have it? Were they oppressed as we now commonly accept as fact? Let us look at the facts for a moment.

Before the chaos erupted, Libya had a lower incarceration rate than the Czech republic. It ranked 61st. Libya had the lowest infant mortality rate of all of Africa. Libya had the highest life expectancy of all of Africa. Less than 5% of the population was undernourished. In response to the rising food prices around the world, the government of Libya abolished ALL taxes on food.People in Libya were rich. Libya had the highest gross domestic product (GDP) at purchasing power parity (PPP) per capita of all of Africa. The government took care to ensure that everyone in the country shared in the wealth. Libya had the highest Human Development Index of any country on the continent. The wealth was distributed equally. In Libya, a lower percentage of people lived below the poverty line than in the Netherlands.

How does Libya get so rich? The answer is oil. The country has a lot of oil, and does not allow foreign corporations to steal the resources while the population starves, unlike countries like Nigeria, a country that is basically run by Shell.

Like any country, Libya suffers from a government with corrupt bureaucrats that try to gain a bigger portion of the pie at the cost of everyone else. In response to this, Kadaffi called for the oil revenue to be distributed directly to the people, because in his opinion, the government was failing the people. However, unlike the article claims, Kadaffi is not the president of Libya. In fact he holds no official position in the government. This is the big mistake that people make. They claim that Kadaffi rules over Libya when in fact he doesn't, his position is more or less ceremonial. He should be compared to a founding father.

The true leader of Libya is an indirectly elected prime-minister. The current prime-minister is
Baghdadi Mahmudi. Calling Khadaffi the leader of Libya is comparable to calling Akihito the leader of Japan. Contrary to what your media is sketching, opinions in Libya vary. Some people support Gadaffi but want Mahmudi out. Others want both out. Many just want to live their life in peace. However, effort is taken to sketch the appearance of a popular revolt against the supposed leader of Libya, Gadaffi, when in fact he is just the architect of Libya's current political system, a mixture of pan-Arabism, socialism, and Islamic government.

Are the protesters in Libya comparable to the protesters in Egypt and Tunisia? Not at all. The governments reaction is more violent, and obviously excessive violence is being used. However let us look for a moment at the actions of the protesters. The building of the the general people's congress, the parliament of Libya, was put on fire by angry protestors. This is comparable to protesters putting the United States Capitol on fire. Do you think that for even a moment the US government would sit idly by as protesters put the US capitol on fire?

Great Britain funded an Al Qaeda cell in Libya, in an attempt to assassinate Gadaffi. The main opposition group in Libya now is the National Front for the Salvation of Libya. This opposition group is being funded by Saudi Arabia, the CIA, and French Intelligence. This group unified itself with other opposition groups, to become the National Conference for the Libyan Opposition. It was this organization that called for the "Day of Rage" that plunged Libya into chaos on February 17 of this year.

It did this in Benghazi, a conservative city that has always been opposed to Gadaffi's rule. It should be noted that the National Front for the Salvation of Libya is well armed. In 1996 the group tried to unleash a revolution in the eastern part of Libya before. It used the Libyan National Army, the armed division of the NFSL to begin this failed uprising.

Why is the United States so opposed to Gadaffi? He is the main threat to US hegemony in Africa, because he attempts to unite the continent against the United States. This concept is called the United States of Africa. In fact, Gadaffi holds all sorts of ideas that are contrary to US interests. The man blames the United States government for the creation of HIV. He claims that Israel is behind the assasination of Martin Luther King and president John. F. Kennedy. He says that the 9/11 hijackers were trained in the US. He also urged Libyans to donate blood to Americans after 9/11. Khadaffi is also the last of a generation of moderate socialist pan-Arab revolutionaries that is still in power, after Nasser and Hussein have been eliminated, and Syria has aligned itself with Iran. The United States and Israel however have no interest in a strong Arab world. In fact it seems that elementary to the plan is bringing Libya to its knees through chaos and anarchy. In late 2010, the United Kingdom was still propping up the Libyan government through lucrative arms sales. Nothing is a better guarantee to destroy Libya than a bloody civil war. The tribal system that is still strong in Libya is useful to exploit to generate such a war since Libya has historically been divided into various tribal groups.

This is also why the Libyan government responds by importing mercenaries. Tribal allegiances go before allegiance to the government, especially in Benghazi, and thus the central government has no control over the eastern part of the country anymore. The alternative to mercenaries is a conflict between the various ethnic groups. Gadaffi has tried for 41 years to make the country more homogeneous, but opposition groups funded by outside forced will take little more than a few days to put the country back into the 19th century, before the region was conquered and unified by Europeans. The violence is indeed excessive, but everyone seems to forget that the situation is not the same as in Tunis and Egypt. Tribal ties play a far greater role, and thus the conflict will unfortunately be bloodier.

I think the introduction of an African currency would have made all the difference in the world. The idea of a guy born in a tent rising to power (without much violence) and keeping it for decades then going on to empower African nations by a common currency which would have rebalanced the worlds economy would have been pretty impressive.

That reign ended with much bloodshed and with the aid of foreign powers, I doubt much would have happened without that support. Not something to be proud of.

The saddest part of your thread is that I didn't really have to believe or know anything about the points you've raised. The US overseas empire is just that... an empire. Its so obviously about all about resource wars and the strength of the US dollar that anyone who is seeing it any other way is just a bit on the slow side.

We were fooled about the non-existent Kuwait baby killings. That should have been a lesson for us. But no. Then the people of American public bought into the Iraq WMD story, and for some reason they didn't even fake finding WMDs for some reason... I still wonder why. Then came along the Iran nuclear bomb story and that was put down pretty quickly. And now the Libya thing comes out and nobody is left to buy what they're selling us... absolute complete BS. We are all starting to get it now.

I'm sorry but Gaddafi was not a good man and he certainly does not deserve any memorial.

I know some people would like to see him as the victim, especially since Obama decided to participate in a war against him, but the history of the man speaks for itself.

He was a well known supporter of terrorism and this isn't disputed by even the craziest conspiracy theorist.

Of course some of his policies and actions may have been a good thing for Africa and Libya but overall the man was a terrible person. He was yet another who took advantage of socialism in order to make himself insanely rich and powerful.

Speak to a Libyan.......you won't find many, if any, mourning "Mad dog" Gadaffi.

i also know someone from Libya, he is wealthy and likes to travel and stay in many african countries, Libya was his favorite.

Some believe it is about protecting civilians, others say it is about oil, but some are convinced intervention in Libya is all about Gaddafi’s plan to introduce the gold dinar, a single African currency made from gold, a true sharing of the wealth.
“It’s one of these things that you have to plan almost in secret, because as soon as you say you’re going to change over from the dollar to something else, you’re going to be targeted,” says Ministry of Peace founder Dr James Thring. “There were two conferences on this, in 1986 and 2000, organized by Gaddafi. Everybody was interested, most countries in Africa were keen.”
Gaddafi did not give up. In the months leading up to the military intervention, he called on African and Muslim nations to join together to create this new currency that would rival the dollar and euro. They would sell oil and other resources around the world only for gold dinars.
It is an idea that would shift the economic balance of the world.

I don't know about the other facts in the OP but this i have heard about a few years ago. And Saddam Hussien threatned the USA of selling his countries oil in Euros and the Chinese approached Sadddam with a deal for selling Iraqi oil using the Yen for aid in training, arms, health care and other products.

So the US govermant made some cock "n" bull story that Saddam was the Devil incarnate and fed it to the populace, to give them right to go to war and take control of the oil, now they are doing the same with Libya and Gaddafi just did not play ball with dirty greedy fatcats in the west

If you think this is false, lets see how western companies start popping up in Libya in the coming months.

Maybe this is how the Apocalypse does its work. Megalomaniacs taking each other out till they've reduced themselves to a manageable number. I wouldn't be surprised to see this happening to the Rothschild's and Rockefeller's in the future though theres a lot of low fruit that probably will be getting picked first.

If all of this concerning NATO's invading Libya and killing it's leader were only for humanitarian reasons as we have been told, then why was the first order of business the taking over and gaining control of Libya's Central Bank ?

And now we know that Libya had amassed a fortune in GOLD whereas Fort Knox has none ?
The US is Broke and Europe is close behind ?

This was simply a case of Armed Robbery. And the leader was silenced as usual....because we know that "Dead Men Tell No Lies".

Good Post OP !

Thanks

No one deserves to be shot down like a stray dog, what kind of honor and respect is that for any human being ?

He might have hurt some people, our leaders are guilty of this as well, but he benefited far more poor people.

Even in our supposedly Free Nation of the United States, do even we have FREE HEALTH CARE AND EDUCATION ???

....as Muammar Gaddafi had provided for his people.

If he were not interested in helping his people, he wouldn't provide this basic requirement of Life to his people FREE of Charge...

The next time you require health care and receive that huge bill in the mail and are wondering how you are going to pay for it ....think about what Muammar had done by providing it FREE of charge for his people.

As well as the fact that our very own nation refuses to do for it's very own citizens. Who with the worlds largest percentage of it's population behind bars, one has only a choice of paying the bill or they can choose to rot in Jail.

Good work, I have noticed that there isn't really much substance to the claims against Libya.
Of course the Universe finds balance, nothings ever perfect, everyone has faults.

But dang! The last week of information on ATS really made me want to move to Libya, then I was sad because they just BLEW IT UP!!

The Green Book was actually very well written and had some really good ideas within it, everyone should give it a look over.
I heard there was a "White Book" as well, I am going to go look it up during lunch I think.

Anyways, keep up the good work. The facts and the truth will inevitably overwhelm the deception.
Keep pushing forward we are gaining a lot of ground right now in this information war.

We are definitely on to something here, we gotta spread this around and see what happens.
