After reading all the post in this thread, I believe there's a misunderstanding, for all I know, it was ISRAEL having an agreement with CYPRUS to start drilling for oil in CYPRUS (southern). So why is it wrong for TURKEY to have an agreement with NOTHERN CYPRUS (yes i know they're not internationally recognized, but, is NOTHERN CYPRUS going to gain any profit from the oil drilled from the ISRAELI-CYPRUS agreement? I dont think so.) to drill for oil? So there is just nothing wrong. As for who started the conflict, I'm going to point my finger to Israel, they have no right at all to have anything to do with the oil in Cyprus, even the oil company is American, not Israeli.

Russia sending a sub uh?edit on 25-9-2011 by Vitchilo because: (no reason given)
A man believed to be one of Russia's most capable agents, arrested in Cyprus this week as a suspect in the spy ring, has almost certainly fled the island, the justice minister, Loucas Louca, said..
Less than 72 hours after he was last seen on Cyprus, speculation is mounting that Christopher Metsos, the alleged paymaster of a Russian network operating under deep cover in the US, was allowed to "disappear" by a government which caved in to pressure from Russia.
The reason is Syrian destabilization my friend. Turkey is supporting muslim brotherhood in syria and thus threatening the russian naval base in syria.
Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, making good on earlier threats, has signed an agreement with Dervis Eroglu, president of the breakaway Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), to explore for oil and natural gas offshore in the eastern Mediterranean.
Turkish research vessel Piri Reis has arrived to its destination on the shelf of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to begin the work on the exploration of hydrocarbons, Trend reports referring to the agency "Anadolu ".
US Jewish leader Richard Stone sees dire consequences of an attack by Turkey on the Noble Energy rig drilling in Cypriot waters.

lets being with saying that Norther Cyprus is an occupied area just like Berlin was back in the cold era. Once you understand that simple fact its simple to see how much of a laughing stock Turkey has become behind closed doors. If you look back at the ranting and waving of arms that Turkey has been doing towards Greece, Cyprus, Germany, France, (E.U.) and Israel, then you begin to realize that what and how Turkey was perceived by its allies has dramatically changed in the past decade. Sadly and for internal political use of the current issue the current regime in Turkey is announcing military threat against Cyprus and Israel knowing full well that Greece would be drawn into a war. Is turkey playing with the big boys, sure she is, i simply hope that she has studied history as history has shown that there are two particular nations you do not go head to head with and she has simply done so or its getting to the point that the irritating fly on the wall needs to be squashed once and for all. The flotilla incident was just a warning as to what extent one of those two nations are ready and capable of doing while dealing with international diplomatic reprisals.

Lol? Two nations you don't go against? Israel and Greece? You mean just 1 nation you dont go against...Israel. Greece hasnt seen military power since the Persian War and the Peloponesian War. It's been 2300+ years since greece has had anything that could be called military might and that was the Spartans who were basically the ancient world's version of special forces. No, don't lump Greece with Israel. This little alliance Israel made with Greece, they know damn well the greeks have no power now. The reason Israel allied with Greece is to give them a reason to attack Turkey.edit on 26-9-2011 by lonewolf19792000 because: (no reason given)
