That's the official unclassified resolution.
Does anyone know for sure that there is not some other SECRET higher resolution camera on board?
I'd be willing to best that NRO has assets with the needed resolution somewhere in orbit, and most likely NGA has pictures too. Some day soon we may have access to them.

Back in the 60s I had friends in intelligence that said we could read a pack of cigarettes (60?) miles away. You can imagine what we can do now.

okay, now this is getting stupid. a secret govetment. that would be giving far too much credit to the current goverment, anyways.

If you really think there is a secret goverement with the funds to produce, and maintain a moon base, you are out of your goard!

my god! we have people on the ISS and if the Russians cant get a manned Soyuz up by Sept 15th the ISS will go unmanned, making my job a living hell, lol. However, if we cant even keep humans alive and safe on the ISS what gives you the space of even the right to suggest a we have a moon base. dont be silly.

please apply common sense and proceed forward.

I would like to point out that I'm fairly certain nobody is really driving the idea or theory that WE are operating a "base on the moon". Moon base, I am pretty sure, is the term being used to describe a structure on the moon. It is large (allegedly) and resembles (allegedly) a base. I don't see anything about this topic that should lead anybody to think it is "stupid" or "preposterous" to think it is possible. Anybody with an interest in space, and what in the hell really is out there, should be at the very least extremely interested in this discussion. Otherwise I would question your "interests" or in some cases "profession". If we can't imagine (and I don't mean that in the sense of the word, or "make up" something entirely out of the realm of possibility") that THERE is in fact, or WAS in fact life out there, somewhere else, maybe even as close as our own moon, then we might as well stop looking, right? My thoughts on this are as follows, and it is pretty simple to deduct why I personally believe we are certainly not alone. Sure I've seen some stuff that I can't really explain. I didn't take pictures (although I certainly would have if I had the chance), and quite frankly I don't care if that makes me believable or not. I know what I saw. And I don't know what it was I saw, but it certainly wasn't something of "this world" that WE KNOW OF. Anyways...I started rambling...my thoughts, they are pretty easy to follow, and impossible to debunk. IMPOSSIBLE. If we, as a race of people, can strap dogs, men, monkeys, mice, ants, etc. into a space shuttle or lander or launch rovers up into space and drop them on foreign celestial bodies, then aren't we LIVING PROOF that extraterrestrials and aliens and UFO's are not science fiction at all, but complete and entire reality? People walking on the moon. Aliens/Extraterrestrials. Land Rovers on other planets, moons, etc....Artificial Extraterrestrial/Alien Intelligence. Space Shuttles, Sputniks, MIR Space Stations...Unidentified Flying Objects. How can there NOT be SOMETHING or SOMEONE SOMEWHERE, when we've been on the opposite side of the coin for at least 50 years?

Forgetting US bases on the moon for a minute......

How credible are the whistleblowers in the OP article.

Ken Johnston - who the article says worked for NASA for 40 years. (nothing in the article says he believes in US bases on the Moon).

Gilbert Levin - who was in charge of the NASA 1976 Viking Life on Mars experiment.

Holger Isenberg, who wrote about the cover-up of the colour of the Martian sky by NASA as verified by experiments conducted by ESA independent of NASA.

Donna Hare - Specialist image technician with NASA.

They are all saying NASA is lying and participating in a cover up.

Can we believe them or from another angle, why should we doubt them?

Have a look at the amount of money the usa spends on classified military stuff and then tell me we could not afford it.. Trillions have gone awol..
As for a shadow government, there is a lot of evidenece one suggest one exists.. Dig through some of the ATS threads here.....
As for operating a moon base, the aricle said there where structures on the moon, not that we made and use them...

You are right, but remember Kennedy let slip that he would welcome a US-Russian team effort to reach the moon. He died 10 days later.......

ahahahaahahahahaah, "track" a SIGNAL , a RADIO SIGNAL,

radio signals are Omnidirectional, without extremely sensitive ( not available to the general populous ) multi-locational equipment and geosynchronous timing ( even today a severe challenge, in the 60's impossible for the amateur ,and nearly impossible for the not amateur ) ,tracking a signal, especially one coming from outside the ionosphere, is a very interesting trick ( otherwise GPS WOULD HAVE BEEN A SNAP IN THE 60's) , perhaps you have a different definition of "Tracking" ( well given your posts you certainly do )

a radio wave used to transmit and receive messages radio emission, radio radiation, radio wave - an electromagnetic wave with a wavelength between 0.5 cm to 30,000 m

tracking:

1. Precise and continuous position-finding of targets by radar, optical, or other means. (DOD) 2. In air intercept, a code meaning, "By my evaluation, target is steering true course indicated."

they were (possibly ) receiving a RADIO WAVE , they were not tracking it in any other sense than attenuation ( strength) . TRACKING requires stereoscopic receptors and microsecond differentiation in signal times (Doppler differentiation), your argument ( no matter how long) is not pertinent to any intelligent observer.

for example " I am watching (listening to ) a television program on vhf" is not equivalent to " I am tracking the signal source AND verifying that it is not a repeater" simply by receiving it with equipment unable to , IN ANY WAY TRACK OR VERIFY THE SIGNAL SOURCE

Of course you can track radio signals, & we're not interested in the whole spectrum, just the wavelengths used by NASA in those days. The shorter the wavelength, the more accurate the tracking. We used to play 'cops & robbers' with cars & c.b.'s back in the 80's-we could track & pinpoint each other easily using simple double-loop antennas. The ham radio guys used to track their satellites using triangulation. Doppler systems needed complex electronics & as far as i know, did not appear until the early seventies.

In the 1960s' that may have been with a U-2 and not a satellite.

Resolution is determined by the physical dimensions and primary mirror, though some clever postprocessing of multiple frames may help somewhat (as would adaptive optics). Cameras and detectors are not the limiting factor---actually data transfer and communications are a primary limitation.

I found these images that explain one of the bases, it appears to be a part of the craft doing the surveillance.

The image below is from the article.

"No-fly zone" on the moon has come up in this thread. Is that for real? I saw nothing about that in the OP link. I need to go back through the posts and follow-up on the links and videos still. Maybe it was there or a link can be provided about that. Why No-Fly? That's usually a matter of politics.

If this has already been answered sorry, but here's a link to one of the threads about the reported No-Fly Zone:

You do know that Silicon Dioxide is glass, right? Usually made from melting sand, any source of heat high enough will create glass shapes in sand, a good example is lightning glass, caused by lightning striking a beach usually.

Just saying.

Speaking as an veteran of the United States Military; Navy to be exact, I find your opening sentence to be insulting in the extreme.

I may not alway tell what I know, but when I speak, I speak the truth as I understand it. I do not say that I am always right, I can make mistakes just like any other thinking being, but I never purposely lie.

One thing that the majority of the military have, both active and veteran, is a sense of honor. I find offensive the amount of posters on ATS who take potshots at a group of people they do not understand, who are the ones that do the most to preserve for us all the right to speak our minds.

My only regret is that they do not get the recognition they deserve.

On another thread, I read one poster who said that all active duty personnel fighting in the Middle East were murderers and worse. These people are in a war and doing everything they can to be able to come home in one piece. When you are ready to lay down your life for what you believe in, then we may have some common ground upon which to converse, until then off to Hades with you.

Rant over, now on the the appropriate topic, as a person who was alive when we first landed on the moon, even then there were times when comms would be suddenly cut off, with no explanation given. I firmly believe that there is more to Luna than NASA or our government admits.

Thenks, I was sitting here trying to remember where USSPACOM's headquarters were located and couldn't come up with it. It is in NORAD and has existed since the early '60s.

I suppose all of the STS missions were faked as well? Come on dude, open your mind to the fact that we are intelligent enough to enter space and return, safely most of the time.

Makes me wonder if you have to denigrate the US since you have nothing to have national pride over.
