Lunar Orbiter III Photo 3073 - One Of Our Advanced Craft Hidden In Crater?

Ran across this by accident. Looks like a couple of our secret advanced deep-space spacecraft. Or some natural features of the crater. What say you?

I didn't look hard enough to find out what crater it is. Perhaps Phage will be along shortly with that info.

If we can find out how big that crater is then the idea its a ship could be totally justified.

And, specifically, the crater in question is Manilius.
What you're looking at is the illuminated crater floor - the other side, of course, being in shadow.

Also, I must say... if that's supposed to be something of ours hidden in a crater, then we're not hiding it too well, considering not only are we taking pictures of it but we're also releasing those pictures to the public.

Perhaps there are agencies doing things that NASA doesn't know about. Anyway. Thanks for the input. Any feedback is welcome.

Perhaps it's the ship that Space Command secretly sent to Elenin. Or one of a number of ships, one of them having gone to Elenin. Can't really fly huge craft like that in and out of our atmosphere without getting noticed.

The shadows in the two photographs are actually quite similar. You'll notice, in the one I linked to, the shadow is cast on a ledge inside the crater at the upper right. If the view was from an angle, looking at it from the lower left, it would appear very similar to the image you posted. The "craft" is the ledge, which runs around the inside of the crater.

OMG! I found a dinosuar!

But seriously, I hope this image helps you to understand just how easy it is to make yourself think there's something there, when clearly its just dirt/smudges/compression artifacts etc.

Don't get me wrong. I do think its good to analyse everything we see on the net. and this post is not meant to ridicule anyone. Its just sometimes I think we want so desperately for there to be something there that we trick ourselves into thinking it.

Um, that's an outcropping of rock.

Without having these pics color enhanced to bring out every little detail, it is hard not to agree with the possibility of some shadowing effects.

Having said that, think everyone can agree there are some "odd" shapes in this picture of shadows.

Like the "nose" and the tail section. Actually the tail section could be partly shadow as there appears some rock debries in the lighted area just behind the rear of a brighter section consistant with the "body" of a craft.
