Ok here we go just a quick reply for each topic:

TV Licence = Its per household always has been always will be, £2.79 per week for no ads on BBC, most of the british population watch BBC more than any other channel.

Guns = Personal opinion, but here goes: Safer (In a way), I dont know where you got the info on farmers owning guns, that is simply not true, police officers can take advanced training to hold a weapon, and I am happy that there are less people with weapons.

Taxes = Yeah Ok could be improved on, however you have pointed out and not stated clearly, if you are earning above £150,000 a YEAR you get 50% tax which I find fair, since that is way too much, also Government agencies get bursaries tax free, its only when they spend it on external supplies.

Weather = Once again personal opinion, I am happy with the weather here, not too much blinding sun, plus I hate the heat.

Monarchy = I hate the Royal family, however they have no power at all in our country any more, which I am glad of.

Who is louder...the overzealous patriot or the "globalist" whom likes their house, but ultimately is indifferent about the political landscape?

You can talk to one of the overly patriotic types and confuse them easily.
When they scream America is the best, ask them their views on california, new york, liberals, ACLU, etc...you can actually talk for quite awhile about things that are part of america and have them say they hate it...
Then finally follow up with "with all that hate for your own country, how can you say its the best...

They will get confused (then probably bomb something)...might as well disprove god to them while your at it.

I think they are the most brainwashed people of all! You guys here at ATS should be well aware of media influence in controlling people's perceptions and attitudes. U.S. Americans are slaves to their nation, and their government. It is sad, and sickening at the same time.

I think you may be thinking "lazy". aka, americans often don't know facts and details about other countrys..I blame the school system and their endless teaching of american history verses world history. when you graduate, you will know far more about the underground railroad and hardly anything about other nations on earth.

So, you start thinking America has done and invented everything ever...before us, people generally hid in caves.

When you hit university, you learn the world is a bit bigger than the sea to shining sea...however, governments don't pay for advanced education (for some stupid reason)...so, there is a very large population dealing with high school America is the bestest mindset taught then.

They are simply too lazy to educate themselves further, (no, you don't need a university education to hit the library and learn about other cultures)

And why do these sad, sad little people always feel the need to go on and on about how "great" their country is, and how much "better" it is than any other country in the world? I know this website is based in the U.S.A., but that posts like this are allowed prevalence here just makes me sad. It is ignorant, offensive, and nothing but a testament to extent of brainwashing that is occurring in that forsaken facade of a culture.

Clearly you judged the thread before reading or considering its context.
Why do people come in and simply assume the intent of the thread? sad brainwashed reactionary responses...sort of like what your judging on others.

I came to this site to join in discussions on topics of interest to me, and thought I could do this here considering the large userbase reflecting a myriad of diverse opinions. I did not come here to be insulted, time and time again, by these repulsive U.S. American attitudes of false superiority over the rest of the world.

You are not actually required to read threads that you dislike the topic of.
Its not like some massive test where you have to weigh in on all topics, regardless of like or interest...pick and choose and you will find your experience far better.

Perhaps people want this place to be exclusively U.S.? Certainly seems to be the case. I'm not from the U.S.A., and my negative impression of that nation's people is worsening the longer I spend on this forum. I feel unwelcome here, and my experience on this site has certainly left me with nothing but a vile aftertaste and a rising hatred.

Sounds like you may need some therapy. a conspiracy website in general invites a lot of opposing debate regardless of the subject.
if you find its personally effecting you...if subjects and debates are having that impact on you...then I would suggest it has little to do with the topics and probably something to do with the processing.

In my opinion the best place to live in the world is probably Switzerland, the 2 months I lived there with a family member, was great, except what they asked you in the application for living there (Even if it was 2 months) things like income, insurance, any previous debts etc.

Also one thing that I do like about America is that they did bring my favourite car, the Ford Mustang 1969 v8 Boss.

Also there shouldnt be much competition between countries which is the better, because in the end, we are all in it together, many countries may have good things and many bad things, so in a way they are equal, its pathetic how people insult each other because they are from different countries. (And I dont mean the OP's post. as he was just merely suggesting why they are better.)

That is a conspiracy considering he is neither Mexican American or from east la. He has said in interviews that he is of Cherokee, Irish, and German descent, with some Navajo as well. He was born in Ky and raised in Florida. He only moved to the coast to start acting.

America is better in lots of ways, your constitution being the main and probably for you guys, the most important one. It was a brave experiment, that some seem too willing to dilute or give up. Nevertheless, we have tea, history and culture, oh yeah and we invented all your sports, the ones only you guys play now.
