On the other hand, people aren't stupid either. Although I agree with people behaving unexpectedly at times during bereavement, I am questioning her
behavior BEFORE the child was dead, as well.
One must ask "what would a reasonable person do?". In the event a child who has drowned, or stopped breathing, a reasonable person would commence
life saving efforts, while waiting for paramedics to arrive. A reasonable person does not place duct tape on a dying or dead child, place the child
in a trunk of a car, and then dump the body in a garbage bag. When this is done, something is greatly amiss. There is obviously foul play, and in
this situation, the mother has caused her ownself to tbe focus of the homicide investigation, due to her own lies and conduct.
As to the chloroform, unfortunately there wasn't enough soft tissue left to determine the cause of death, but it doesn't take any particular medical
knowledge to arrive to the conclusion that suffocation was a contributing factor, and probably THE coupe de gras. One does not place chloroform on a
child, any child, unless the motivation is to quiet, or to render unconscious.
