I like cooking the oriental with a packet of leftover soy sauce from chinese food and then putting the seadoning in. I cook it for about 6 or 7 minutes to let the sauce thicken and put a little wasabi paste in at the end. The flavor alone is enough to make me think im eating a $10 order of lo mein. Mmm mmm good! The next question should be: Do you cook your ramen in the microwave or on a stove-top?

Have you received your noodle-mastery card yet?

Grand mastery requires the use of a small amount of butter, but shhhhh, that's a secret.

As another poster stated, I still buy them for a snack or quickie side dish. Can't beat the price and sooo easy to make.

Off to pillage the pantry, I think there is a package hiding in there somewhere.

ETA...

Gotta go with Pork, Spicy Beef or Spicy Chicken. Here in Canada they're called Mr Noodles, same thing though.

Technique is everything...

Boil water in a kettle
Place noodle into a bowl and JUST cover with water.
Put a plate over top to keep heat/steam in.

When the noodle starts to break a part on it's own, drain
Add butter and seasoning.

Wolf it down

Crackers dont really enhance the flavor, but its a good filler when your really hungry.

ahhh well in that spirit, I used to crumble up cornbread and add to them

I've used the noodles in all kinds of various recipes, they work wonders :d

and that IS a very very good question... one I feel strongly on!!!

Stove Top for me... as it unlocks the true flavor!!

badw0lf invented Ramen Noodles... it is little known fact...
but since badw0lf is the antichrist it was all apart of his world domination mind control plan...
one world government... one world food

But since then McDonald's took over that part of his operation... ha

Good to see you pop in badw0lf!

There is an asian brand with a shiny silver package that is awesome.. back in 5th/6th grade we would have 15 min snacktime, and all the asian kids had it and we would eat it raw (they would share)... it came with powder and some oil stuff.

oh anyway they don't have that here so I like maruchan shrimp flavor with some lemon juice and hot sauce

Maybe I should open up my sensor receptors just a little more the next time I decide to chow down on some ramen,
Let the light in so to speak.

Good thread!

Just buy decent egg noodles (the wet sort, thick) and you can use some peanut oil, chilli flakes, sesame oil, or any asian style flavouring and you can't tell the difference between a store bought packet of preservative laden blech (But those are my favourite still, I guess.. lol, Mi Goreng..)..

I realised that the noodles don't have to be specific - it's the flavours... And I dont really like the fried noodles, so I tried it with the maggi baked noodles, and it was just as good.

Since then, egg noodles seem to just really make the perfect meal with the right flavourings..

Mind you I add so much chilli it's not really any better adding much of anything else, takes about half an hour before I stop sweating and feel like I'm about to explode... lol
