"Others are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves… So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations…It's real, and that's the reason why we have to intensify our efforts, and that's why this is so important." [Secretary of Defense William Cohen at an April 1997 counterterrorism conference sponsored by former Senator Sam Nunn. Quoted from DoD News Briefing, Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, Q&A at the Conference on Terrorism, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and U.S. Strategy, University of Georgia, Athens, Apr. 28, 1997].

I actually posted this on another thread, but felt it might be appropriate here too. From yesterday...
Oh my gosh... On my way to work this morning, on a local Memphis radio station, there was a commercial for the CIA. They were advertising jobs in the Washington DC area and it was a recruiting type advertisement. I've never heard one before, so it was a little strange. It had a patriotic type theme kinda like the military recruitment commercials.

Interesting comment that person made. With all the talk of the New Madrid Seismic Zone and the earthquake drill scheduled to happen in Nashville in May, sponsored by FEMA with the cooperation of 12 states, I wouldn't be surprised if that person was on to something.
Of course, how much trust can one put into a blog?
Interesting food for thought at the very least.
Peace be with you.

It was not so much that we would be affected by an earthquake but more so that within the New Madrid area lie an excess of the nation's thoroughfares, logistics, resources and such. He went on to add that supplies and rations for those who will need them is not the issue. The biggest concern on the table is the social unrest that will definitely occur and they are working on contingencies to route resources in the face of this social unrest in the event of a calamitous event.

One thing about that calculator is you would need more than 14 gallons of water for 60lbs of legumes for one person.
