Stuff They Don't Want You To Know- Can scientists manufacture earthquakes?

William S Cohen

"Others are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves… So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations…It's real, and that's the reason why we have to intensify our efforts, and that's why this is so important." [Secretary of Defense William Cohen at an April 1997 counterterrorism conference sponsored by former Senator Sam Nunn. Quoted from DoD News Briefing, Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, Q&A at the Conference on Terrorism, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and U.S. Strategy, University of Georgia, Athens, Apr. 28, 1997].

does the 6 months of food have to be protected from radiation???
just wondering.....

I live in an area where there is national forests all around me, and well....I am counting on those forests to stockpile 6 months of food for me???

there's also a few pipes coming out of the mountains with good springwater flowing...

seriously though, recentlly it's like when I turn on my computer every morning, I am find myself halfway expecting that today will be the day where the full realizaition hits me that there just isn't a reason any more to go to work!!! either the dollar will have completely collasped (which is the reason I think why the bigwigs are cluing their friends to stockpile now....it will save them a ton of money later), or the riots on the streets will just make it too dangerous to get to work.
but well, when that happens, I will be leaving the city and heading for the mountains....

of course there is this one small flaw in my plans...(outside of the fact that I will probably break my neck trying to walk up the mountain....:lol

thetruthbehindthescenes.wordpress.com...

umm....a little southwest of roanoke, ha??
well, that might put a damper in my plans....

a friend of mine has a habit of just forwarding stuff that's sent to her on to all her friends and sent me a copy of that....(if I was a spammer, I could have lots of fun with all those emails listed on the top of her emails!!)
saying she knows fran, and she's on the up and up....
okay, but if it happens, I think she has missed the bigger picture, because it's more likely the new madrid fault is gonna give, and well....ya, that might cause the mountains to shake a little I guess...
personally, I like my mountains, and I trust them..
so welll, my plan stands...stay here till things blow up, then head into the mountains, where I believe mother nature will provide the food and water I need...
and well, since no one else tends to see acorns and other common forest greenery as food sources, I will be leaving the good food for the others....

well we all know something big is coming. those with eyes to see and ears to hear....us who are awake, us who care about reality and not football morons with no lives. So im going to give my best prep tips. First off while you have time to prepare (hopefully we still have the rest of this year as napolitano said) and you have a job and are making money right now, set you up a cheap easy solar/battery powered off grid system like this guy.
www.youtube.com...

easy to get stuff and as you can see its pretty effective. it wont allow you to keep living like a king with your ac on full blast and every light in the house on but...if in a nightmare power is off permanently situation, this system will be the prize of your existence. You dont have to build it as much as he did, one deep cycle battery, an inverter and a 20-50 watt solar panel to charge your battery will do. Just something to have a light on and a small tv on (ya know to watch whatever govt propoganda that might be on telling you all is well lol) Or power a small police scanner to hear what the guys in black uniforms are doing.

On to food and water now, water is pretty easy to get you can do this by getting a clean sock and getting out early in the am and running it on the grass collecting the ample dew that will be on it. Also a good source is to collect it on the flat surfaces of cars (this is great if you are in an urban environment as cars are everywhere and in the dark early am nobody will see you doing this) but get you a "waterblade" to collect tons of this water heres a video i found on youtube, www.youtube.com... you can find these in auto parts stores. we sell them at the napa auto parts i work at but i think its named differently. Now of course you might say "EWWWW" dirty water...trust me this water will be 99% safer than any stream or puddle. just use a coffee filter to filter this water.> this is a good tip to get water until you find a better source and can keep you alive.

Food: You can go up to 40 days without food. Bone thin indians in india are know to fast this long. You just gotta not exert too much energy. So dont panic if you run outta food an easy to get food source is the common weed in every yard. The dandelion is very edible every part of this plant can be eaten, the roots can be made into a tasty tea. But learn about edible wild foods, youtube is a great source of learning for you on this subject. google dandelion eating and see all the things you can do.

Someone mentioned stockpiling ramen...dont. its got no nutrional value. Instead you can cheaply stockpile vienna sausages. they can last for several years and you can get different flavors. They are very filling too you can eat one can and be good to go all day. I recommend the barbeque flavor as its quite tasty. A pack of six cans i think i paid 2 bucks for them at wal mart food store. many more easy food stuffs you can hoard. But in an extreme situation when you have not prepared and this "mad max" world is on you. Dont give up. the main key of survial is the will to go on.

God will strengthen you and help you. So also have a bible too in your bug out bag. As the bible says "birds do not toil nor plan but god feeds them. How much more so will god feed you too" so trust in god and rely on him. The bible even says in the last days those who call on his name will be saved. His name is Jehovah, his sons name Jesus means "jehovah is savior" Very important to know him by name. The first thing moses asked god at the burning bush was what gods name was. and jesus said "i have made your name known" when praying. You will notice in your bible the term LORD or GOD in all caps. king james and other bibles edited his name out because of some false jewish belief that his name was too sacred to use. thats a false lie that came out of babylon when the jews were in captivity. God wants you to know his name and use it. Besides "GOD" is just a title, "LORD" is just a title The devil is called "the god of this world" so his name is very important. and so get to reading the bible too. The bible will be a good source of strength for you in this time coming up. You must realize this: that the days of plenty are coming to an end.

Before I start, I will preface my comments with this:
Generally, I hate the "I heard from a friend that..." or the "I know this guy, who knows a guy" threads that often are so without merit that it is a shame that the ones and zeros were wasted on the drivel.
That said...
I was at a small gathering a few weeks ago and (sigh) I met a guy who works pretty high up for the Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management. He had actually approached me because the host of the party (Who opens his mouth far too often.) Had told him that I was in the process of storing some food stuffs and preparing some fairly elaborate "Go bags" or "Bug out bags" as they are called. At the moment, I did not know who he was, and he tells me that he had heard a lot about me from my big mouthed friend. He asked me, what I was storing and how I was doing it. I asked him who he was first as I am not paranoid but generally alert. He introduced himself and then explained who he worked for. We ended up talking for an hour or so and he told me that I was doing the right thing in preparing. Upon further discussion, he said that the state was in overdrive for disaster preparedness and one of the main concerns had to do with the New Madrid fault. It was not so much that we would be affected by an earthquake but more so that within the New Madrid area lie an excess of the nation's thoroughfares, logistics, resources and such. He went on to add that supplies and rations for those who will need them is not the issue. The biggest concern on the table is the social unrest that will definitely occur and they are working on contingencies to route resources in the face of this social unrest in the event of a calamitous event.

For me, it is one thing to see some of the nefarious ramblings that occur here on ATS and afar, but another thing altogether different to actually hear this kind of info from the mouth of a homeland security bigwig. I am in no way spreading fear here but... I think something is brewing. And it may even be a non-calamitous event that has long term calamitous ramifications.

In either case... It is the opinion of this man that it is not the worst idea to be prepared but to be so without extreme paranoia.

I don't see anything nefarious in that conversation. I could show you fifty-page PDFs from various government agencies on the wisdom of being excessively prepared for disaster, and part of the reason we care about faults is that we know they might cause earthquakes. We even know which ones might cause the worst earthquakes sooner. Given that, what should they do -- not consider the implications or plan for the consequences? The fact that he was so comfortable and open about it should tell you that he didn't think any of it was sensitive.

All that said, none of that actually rules out the possibility of a nefarious plot any more than the conversation as reported confirms one. If there were one, it would just mean this guy was only in on the explicable extensions of it.

What if the threat IS the "upper Echelons?"

Its not like our government is opposed to attacking innocent civilians if it serves their purposes. What makes you think they would be unwilling to use force on their own people? Especially when they have brought 20,000 troops to the country to be used as a "domestic force?"

If they KNOW there will be social unrest? What are they planning to do that we dont know about? What is happening in the world that they are not telling us? The other post I made showed the science feels the New Madrid is shutting down, they really arent planning for a quake. They are planning something THEY are going to do. Or, something they know will happen that they are not telling us. Either way, thats nefarious.

We have not have significant civil unrest in the US since the Civil war. Even in the 60s-70s there were no disruptions in trade or supply routes.

This is nefarious. They are planning to do something they suspect is going to wake big fat lazy America up off her ass enough that we might try to disrupt trade? Thats something big.

Because we have tolerated a stolen Presidential election, we have tolerated our money being used to bail out banks, both highly HIGHLY unpopular events, without uprising. They are plotting treason against the US. Even if "all" it is, is some terrible food shortage, or the collapse of the dollar, or something, they are betraying the people of this nation by not warning people so they can ALL prepare.

How would there not be social unrest after a massive disaster? We have had social unrest following one, quite recently. Little thunderstorm troubled Louisiana for a bit -- it was on the news, maybe you heard about it. Plus, the government has been preparing for social unrest in various forms from the beginning of time. It's like their favorite hobby, and also acts as an effective money sink to keep budgets high. Again, I'm not claiming this means there is no plot, just that it's both highly unlikely it would be revealed so openly and casually and that the statements as reported are only suspicious if you start out suspicious.

We havent had civil unrest for most other hurricanes, floods, etc.

Everyone got along great in Tennessee during and after the floods, pulled together, etc. In Hawaii, I was in Hurricane Iwa, and my town got totally cut off from power, water, and the road in washed out so we were on our own for few days, and I lived in a very poor town, and we did fine.

The difference is the people. If you live in Hawaii, you know during the rainy season that even if we dont get a hurricane, you are going to get storms that will knock out power, and you prepare.

Louisiana was a mess because the people who were acting like fools were primarily the people who act like fools even when times are good. Ditto with much looting and rioting in CA and other places. Those people arent acting that way because of the disaster, they are acting that way because they suck as people.

If they expect natural or civil disaster, then PREPARE the population. In many places that have storms or such, there are campaigns that teach people how to prepare. There were campaigns when times were tough in America economically about "victory gardens," etc. Our leaders are doing NOTHING to prepare the citizens, so that WE stay calm, and WE have what we need on hand.

To me, thats odd. Why wouldnt they?

We're off topic, but I will just say I completely disagree with your assessment of Katrina, and anyway you didn't say there was only social unrest where people were fools, but that there had literally not been any.

That sentence didnt really make sense, but no we arent off topic.

We are talking about whether or not it what they are doing makes sense if you consider they are preparing for a natural disaster.

And in Katrina, MOST of the people were NOT rioting, or acting like animals. Most of the people were well behaved. The people who were looting and acting like fools are the same people who act like fools in good times.

This is something apparently that is a secret to most Americans, your government is not superman. It takes time to get in and bring relief. Days. A week. Its how it goes. Look at Japan. Its what happened in Hawaii during hurricanes. Its logistics.

Which is why if the government is preparing for natural disaster the absolute BEST preparation is to prepare the people. Tell them what to expect, where to go, to have supplies on hand. Even a small cache of supplies to get someone through a week can make the difference between people crying in the streets because they have no food and water and people doing ok.

Prepared people can help each other until help arrives.

Im just saying that IF this is all just innocent disaster preparedness for events they think are inevitable, they are really dropping the ball by not getting the citizens in on it. We are all supposed to be on the same team in America. Its not supposed to be about "them" managing "us."

One thing about that calculator is you would need more than 14 gallons of water for 60lbs of legumes for one person.

I bought a few of those 50 gallon bakery drums for 10 bucks each, rather than going online and spending 80.00 each for food grade containers. I just rinsed them out filled them up and put a few drops of bleach in them. You could always boil it later if needed. Ive read some people buy new 30 gallon plastic garbage cans and fill them with the garden hose and duct tape them closed.
