Try to keep it factual as related to the event as it unfolds, if it relates and is linkable, fine, but taking the discussion off on a tangent with one of the speculations or anything political will be considered off topic.

I encourage alternate theories and connections to be discussed in other threads either already started or start a new one.

Some stuff might be related, as in volcanoes, other earthquakes, solar flare activity etc. There's alot happening all at once . Are we allowed to try to ties stuff in or is that also not allowed ?

Make a new thread or view many of the others made to speculate further as to what this may become, or what sparked it.

Don't continue on in this thread about any speculation, as the mods requested, this thread would like to be contained solely to updates directly in regards to the earthquake and tsunami that have hit Japan. People are looking to this thread for constant, and accurate updates as to what the situation is at real time. We're compiling news from multiple sources, but not speculating.

Leave this to be news and updates, please respect the need for information with this event and leave higher speculation out of it! Then we can continue on educated, informed, and in respect to this disaster.

Japan is probably the country most able to manage a situation like this, so let's hope for the best and keep this great news reporting coming!

this video you posted from yesturday prooves it isnt a `lense problem`

there are ufos maybe et crafts or orbs ABOVE THOSE VOLCANOES, maybe setting it off

Calm down now. Take some breaths. No need to jump to rash conclusions. Seeing as how they don't even seem to move, wouldn't it seem more likely that maybe it is ash, dust, or dirt on the lens??

It erupted before yesterday. Its been going up for a good number of weeks, and 2 years ago prior to that. Kamchatka Penninsular in Russia is lined with Stratovolcanoes that erupt consistently (bring up a NOTAM any day of the week for flights to/from the US and the Far East and you'll see what the Aviation Code is in terms of predicted Volcanic Ash for upper layers.)

It'd be no dissimilar if Erta Ale was to erupt tomorrow, and someone here was to put that eruption and this earthquake today. making 2+2=4, its simply not so.

BBC

1940: The 8.9-magnitude earthquake which struck Japan on Friday was the strongest in the area in nearly 1,200 years, David Applegate, a senior science adviser at the US Geological Survey, tells the Associated Press. He says the quake ruptured a patch of the earth's crust 240km (150 miles) long and 80km (50 miles) across

Well ain't that nice. Strongest in 1200 years in the area... and it created a big mess in earth's crust.

Crescent City, Santa Cruz hit hard by tsunami from Japan quake

A tsunami from the devastating Japan earthquake hit the coast of California on Friday morning, causing significant damage in Crescent City, Santa Cruz and other parts of Northern California. There were no reports of major damage or flooding in Southern California.

4 people were swept away by the tsunami... 1 confirmed dead.... Stupid people on the coast with a tsunami warning... yeah great move there. Darwin strikes again.

I've seen a few dodgy websites popping up today claiming to take donations for Japan... probably best to wait until Red Cross officially announces a Japan fund-raiser, at least that's what I'm doing

I was addressing the moderator . Are you also a mod, as you talk like you think you are one, and after only 7o something posts here. Hmm. My question was addressed on behalf of all people here mentioning other events, like websites that were down today, volcanoes going off. I was not asking for myself personally.
