I think the problem is that to many people spend to much time worrying about the color of a person's skin or what country they originate from. Do we
really need a month to celebrate a race, culture, or anything else? Do we really need holidays to celebrate a religion? One thing I have always
wondered about America is that we say that work cannot interfere with a religious belief, but how many companies are going to let someone off because
its a religious holiday at least without asking in advance?
That was a bit off topic, but the point is that who needs White History month? Who really needs Black History month? To be honest I think we need to
move on from the past and move ahead with the world. This is one of those things that holds the human race back from ascension of our intellectual
minds. We are to worried about making up for slavery, the holocaust, manifest destiny, etc etc etc.
Wouldn't it make more sense to I don't know live for tomorrow rather then live for what happened yesterday?
A better question in my mind would be why do we refer to people as African American, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Mexican etc. Why not just call them
people? So yea me and my friend here were just wondering what that guys name was over there? Instead of So yea me and my friend were wondering what
that black guys name was over there? See my point?
Now obviously there are times when things are different such as if you are conducting a criminal investigation, but seriously why do we constantly
refer to people by there race? Why do we even have politically correct terms why is it even necessary?
