Out of mild curiousity, what country are you speaking about? I have been around here and there and never found a land free from corporatists (the 21st century "tptb"

Hungary, Central Europe. The country which dared to kick the IMF out, the one which dared to tax the banks and corporations with the tax rate what they truly deserve, the one which kicked out the globalist TPTB in this year. And the country which became prosperous from the total bankruptcy within a half year (Regardless what the media, Moody's and other liar financial corporations tells you overseas.). You know, this is the country which is always good to start nice revolutions and kick idiot conquerors out. It's a national trait. It's in our genes. Oh, and we're also pretty good to prosecute TPTB thieves in front of a jury and put them behind bars.
If someone doesn't like what the people want here, that corporation may grab it's pack and leave. We won't miss it. Whoever is respecting our people, that one can stay and can have a prosperous corporation here. But we demand mutual respect and we're not taking corporations into the foreground, because some idiot demands this from our country.

Eh, yeah....
Thanks for all your answers and you fantastic insights....
I will now go outside and hit my head with a hammer so I forget any philosophy book I ever read, that will make it easier to accept your claims I think.
Damn you Karl Popper for misleading me into thinking there should be any evidence for anything when it's so much easier to just act like a condescending teenager.

People don't deserve to have subsidized post-secondary schooling. Job training maybe, but no one should be using tax payer's dollars to fund their college/university experience.

If someone is unemployed, they should be fed and housed at most - not sent to college or university on everyone else's dime.

Ahh Hungary. Eastern Bloc.
I spent some time in the czech republic and they told me of how they were basically getting out of communism and adjusting to a more western style of life...generally they liked the move, but going from one governmental style to another almost overnight was of course very confusing.

Let me ask you a question...do you honestly think the moves the eastern bloc has been doing in tossing out the tyrants was just some spontanious movement?

You might want to do some reading on a guy named George Soros.
The guys claim to fame (besides making a zillion bucks off the bank of england of course) is the orchistrated overthrow of communist regimes around the world, but especially in the eastern bloc.

and the guy is hungarian

He -IS- TPTB in the clearest sense of the concept...and without him and his influence, I would bet a hamburger that most of the bloc would still be under communist/socialist control.

Sort of ironic, dontcha think...

Very articulate and good speaker. However wait few more years and little more of publicity and power and he'll be the very thing he is fighting against now. That's what happens to 99% of people who get into politics. I don't think he'll be any different. When he runs in his first election he will think this speech was only a mistake as his opponents can use soundbytes from it against him.

Who's refraining from adding something to the thread?
I propose it's you rather than me.
As for what I am doing here..... Denying ignorance, and part of that, at this time, is you.
But, I guess you would prefer it if no questions were asked.... Much like the facists do.....

People don't deserve to have subsidized post-secondary schooling. Job training maybe, but no one should be using tax payer's dollars to fund their college/university experience.

And thats where you and I disagree philosophically.
I judge a society based on their average educational level. Knowledge is power as the saying goes, and the society with the most knowledged citizens is the enlightened and truely "great" society.

So far, Finland wins.

If someone is unemployed, they should be fed and housed at most - not sent to college or university on everyone else's dime.

And again I disagree. a university educated person is far more employable in an advancing world, they will rely less on social programs (like food stamps and such) and end up in a higher tax bracket, paying more taxes and giving back to society.

I have a fundamental disagreement with you here and both of us I reckon will grow old and rot before we convince the other of their view. I understand your view of course...I simply find it simplistic and not thought through.

I don't know what about you're talking, but as Hungary is a Christian state in the last thousand years, here the approved form of marriage is between heterosexuals (It's also in our Constitution.). Mocking me or my country, creating false stories, calling me as a fascist because our country is a normal, free country, well, that won't work and your mocking is clearly presenting who you're and what you're. Thank you for the nice presentation in the name of ATS.

As we used to say here: if you don't like what is going on in Hungary, you don't have to come here. Anyone else, who is respecting our culture, our nation, our people is welcomed anytime. We're a friendly nation, but not with our enemies. Sorry, but we won't change, because some outsider demands this from us.

You gun-lovers don't realize that the Cold War gave governments weapons that are a lot more powerful than guns or tanks, with ammunitions more aplenty and cheaper to produce than bullets. Of course it always gets to come down to a point where you have to spill blood ('cause its what your guns are made for, aren't they?), but beforehand, guns are not a STRATEGY. They aren't telling you, as well, who your real enemies are, who to shoot when things get very conflictual.

The problem these days is that the people who actually got a dead-on analysis of what's wrong with this world are non-violent students, while the combat-trained militias with guns are usually found to be not only lacking an empowering ideology, but are misguided by religious extremist ideas and reactionary racism, pointing the finger (or the gun?) at all these "filthy illegals" or muslims or whatever else, while TPTB stays intact, laughing at the people who fight among themselves. Things might have to break on both sides, so that would allow hope for a REAL change in politics.

They say that if you drink 1ppm Fluoridated water for just 10 years, you will lose 10-20 IQ points!

By "They" I'll assume you mean some random guy who heard it from a friend of his who read some pseudoscience and wanted to spread said pseudoscience around.

Hi, thought I'd give some proof on how fluoride affects the human brain and the human intelligence capacity/growth.

These are all scientific studies. Done by scientists, all over the world mind you.

"These negative correlations between IQ and urinary As and between IQ and urinary fluoride indicate that exposure to medium levels of As or fluoride, or both, could affect children’s intelligence... This study indicates that exposure to fluoride in drinking water is associated with neurotoxic effects in children."

SOURCE: Wang SX, et al. (2007). Arsenic and fluoride exposure in drinking water: children's IQ and growth in Shanyin county, Shanxi province, China. Environmental Health Perspectives 115(4):643-7.

“We found that exposure to fluoride (F) in urine was associated with reduced Performance, Verbal, and Full IQ scores before and after adjusting for confounders. The same pattern was observed for models with F in water as the exposure variable.... The individual effect of F in urine indicated that for each mg increase of F in urine a decrease of 1.7 points in Full IQ might be expected.”

SOURCE: Rocha-Amador D, et al. (2007). Decreased intelligence in children and exposure to fluoride and arsenic in drinking water. Cadernos de Saude Publica 23(Suppl 4):S579-87.

"A few epidemiologic studies of Chinese populations have reported IQ deficits in children exposed to fluoride at 2.5 to 4 mg/L in drinking water. Although the studies lacked sufficient detail for the committee to fully assess their quality and relevance to U.S. populations, the consistency of the results appears significant enough to warrant additional research on the effects of fluoride on intelligence."

SOURCE: National Research Council. (2006). Fluoride in Drinking Water: A Scientific Review of EPA's Standards. National Academies Press, Washington D.C. p. 6.

Very important one:

"In our study, it was shown that the average IQ of children in a fluoride endemic area was somewhat lower than the control, but the result was not significant (P>0.05). The rate of children with “low” IQs, however, was elevated as compared to the control, and this was very statistically significant... Our study showed that, within the fluoride endemic area, the average IQ of children suffering from dental fluorosis is clearly lower than those that show no signs of the disease, and this result is very significant (P

No one is stopping you from paying for a person's education.

Where we differ is that you think it is okay for a government to use force and the threat of force to take money from people and spend it on subsidizing education, and I do not think this is okay.

You believe in involuntary socialism and I believe in voluntary socialism.

Yes yes...eastern block circa 80s...meh, some titles die hard, but its a general discription of things west of germany, and east of the middle east...the former russian controlled areas overall...didn't mean to make it sound like it was still in tact.

Soros not playing a part in Hungarian politics???
To the best of your knowledge anyhow...
The wiki:

Relation to Hungarian politics
In the 1980s Viktor Orbán -Chairman of Fidesz (1994–2000, 2000-) and Prime Minister (1998–2002, 2010-) - and László Kövér - Chairman of Fidesz (2000)m Secret Service Minister (1998–2002) and Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary (2010-) - were Soros scholarship recipients. Furthermore the Orban cabinet's Deputy Prime Minister István Stumpf - now member of the Constitutional Court - was a member of the Soros Foundation's Board of Trustees between 1994 and 2002.

I see no mention of him being cast out from hungary..some accusations as of april...but most of the negative soros stuff is from right wing trash rags that are in full force character assassination because they don't like his political views of anti-facism and how he supports progressive entities like think progress and moveon. so of course the right wing cabal will be spending enormous amounts of money to destroy him through propaganda...the guy is a force to be reckoned with.

Do you lot really force gay people to watch straight porn? meh...whatever..actually I don't care..your women are smoking hot...I cant understand any human not being attracted to Catherine Fulop..

It has to be initiated sometime...perhaps it should have been done over a 30 year plan, but either way...it needed to happen.

I would like to point out that I did not make the statement in the above quote. I have noticed that your formating does not accurately convey who said what. I've noticed you mis-formating in previous posts. Why do you do that?

The UK is not a democracy (same as how the US is not a democracy), and the average pleb in society doesn't spend time understanding all the issues the representitive must..

I agree, there is no true democracy in existence (perhaps with the exception of Iceland). But only the so called representatives think the electorate plebs. You'de be suprised how many people in the UK do understand how corrupt the entire system of government is.

its their job to know whats going on, and so they may see "the bigger picture" and vote accordingly.
I wont give you a politics 101 on this..just saying, the general people often do not know what they truely want (well, besides free stuff)..democracy is a nightmare because people generally are ignorant to the details.

its why we have representatives to begin with.

No, that's just the propaganda. Pseudo democracy produces pseudo representatives who only see what their banking cartel friends tell them to see. Then they tell the actual electorate whatever they feel they must tell them in order to squeeze yet more from the sweat and toil of the comman man.

I am of the belief that if the education -does- help you land a decent job, then yes...you should pay it back. If you go and get your batchlers and still no job, I think they are being very reasonable in not demanding payback until such a time as you are doing well.

Traditionally, payback comes from higher taxation gleened from higher incomes. Free university education is an investment in a country's future. Sadly, in the UK, we suffered what we call 'brain drain'. ie people educated in our world renowned higher education establishments, leaving the country because they could not find sufficiently lucrative work in the UK to pay exorbitant UK cost of living and taxes. Only the uber-rich and their government friends are not prosecuted for tax avoidance and evasion. And the children of such can afford to begin their adult lives unencumbered by debt.

A wallah is a slave, someone so hideously brainwashed, they actually toady up to the master.

Well, you would still be a communist country if it wasn't for George Soros.

In 1984, he founded his first Open Society Institute in Hungary and pumped millions of dollars into opposition movements and independent media. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, Soros' funding has continued to play an important role in the former Soviet sphere.

Is this by any chance the 100 million you are talking about? That's called beeing a philantrope, look it up.

In June 2009, Soros donated $100m to Central Europe and Eastern Europe to counter the impact of the economic crisis on the poor, voluntary groups and non-government organisations.
