If every you had any doubts that this government is a band of insane, evil psycopaths, this has got to be it.

If people don't kick up one helluva noise and if the American people allow this to pass, they too must be insane.

To consent to this bill is to consent to being murdered.

The downright lies make me so very angry:

Monsanto says it has no interest in the bill and would not benefit from it, but Monsanto’s Michael Taylor who gave us rBGH and unregulated genetically modified (GM) organisms, appears to have designed it and is waiting as an appointed Food Czar to the FDA (a position unapproved by Congress) to administer the agency it would create — without judicial review — if it passes. S 510 would give Monsanto unlimited power over all US seed, food supplements, food and farming.

Monsanto has to be one of the most evil, murderous groups of psycohaths on this plant, surpassed only by those who are leading of this insane plot to murder humanity.

Glad I live in Canada, where I can still grow an ear of corn or a bushel of wheat if I want to, or (likely soon) pot.

No, you won't. Americans and Westerners in general are too lazy and lethargic to do anything about it, and in the first case, the people have to REALIZE that their rights are being intruded on and stomped all over, and most people just don't give a damn, or even know or care what their rights are to begin with.

Americans, and Westerners in General, are too lazy to get up off the couch and protest ANYTHING.

Pretty soon, they will want to, but it will be too late. The gentle simmer of radical change to the American (and Western World's) way of life will have hit the boiling point and it will be too late for the frog to jump out of the pot before he's cooked.

I was chatting with a customer this afternoon, who said that she moved from the USA to Canada. All of her American friends didn't believe her when she told them that the news was HEAVILY censored in the USA. She said when she came to Canada, she had a bit of an epiphany as to what is going on, as while the news is still censored in Canada, it is a bit more free than in the USA to report what's really going on.

She's a registered Republican, and she said that until she had seen the Canadian news, she didn't realize what a goofball Sarah Palin was, or that the Republicans had such lack of leadership. She's finally watching news coverage that isn't heavily biased in favor of one American party or another.

She's woken up to the true reality of the USA. All it took was her moving to Canada to see the light!

Well what are they waiting for?

Pass the bill so I can get some organic fertilizer!

Corrupt politicians work the best.

Could the ultimate goal here be, that no seed or produce will be bought or sold that isn't GMO so a corporation can have a patent on it?
That's how drug companies work afterall. If you don't have exclusivity of an item, it's not worth producing. When the patent expires, the newly modified seed is introduced.

will it affect my right to grow various herbs in my hydroponic garden, or does this bill outlaw that.

When it becomes illegal to grow yuor own victory garden, its 1984, New world order* i question this though..becuase if its true..then farmers would all be screwed, and wede have NO food...ic annot imagine going to prison for eating the dandelions form my yard, or growing tomatoes* but perhaps its becoming a sick demented reality*
I find it interesting, monstantos said they wouldnt benefit form it* of course they wouldnt, if congress passed this bill..but then again, if it was farmers using monsontos governemnt seeds ONLY...then yeah, theyde be interested.
The bill sounds like it would be illegal to have grass, shrubs and bushes , trees for that matter. You cannot tell someone what they can and cant eat* that is a freedom of chpice god gave us all. the day the US government says otherwise,......new world order is coming, socialist nazi control..ide keep ear tot he ground at this point, and get ready..hopefully thiers enough of us in the ameican public willing to fight back,a nd for all our freedoms of chpice and right

Well I meant how is it different than what already is? I heard about the version of this from last year but never looked closely enough at that one to see how real it was supposed to be.

I looked at your other thread but I fail to see what exactly is supposed to lay down the law here.

But again, if there is a story here it needs to be laid out and heard far and wide.

Ya! I was thiing of that too after the post! Just imagine, the day when using water fitlers will be illegal! of all things...looks like brita and PUR wil be going under when that happens* unless the government allows us to use carbon fitlers, reverse osmosis, buying up stocks in those 2 companys*
I jsut have a hard time believing this news posted here. I dont understand if its illegal to grow food, how are we supposed to eat!!! turn canibal or something?

Not sure I see a widespread conspiracy to take away our ability to grow food on our own property in this bill. Even if it were there, would be impossible to enforce. Now I do see some stiffer regulations in regards to local farmer's markets that I find reprehensible. I say let us make our own decisions on what is/is not safe for consumption. This is really inevitable considering we have an administration for food and drugs, FDA. Food is already under control, and will become more controlled as time progresses. If I'm not mistaken, this year the FDA and Congress made a law or wrote a future law that will ban the sell of un-pasteurized milk products.

Furthermore, this "obesity" epidemic, arguably caused by the slander of fat which has led to the HF corn syrup addiction, our children are going to be fed what the government chooses in school. There is an official "Task Force on Childhood Obesity", led by the first lady.

Here is a quote from a legal brief concerning the FDA and it's legality of controlling milk products:

…… there is no “deeply rooted” historical tradition of unfettered access to food of all kinds….To the contrary, society’s long history of food regulation stretches back to the dietary laws of biblical times…. Modern food safety regulation in the United States has its roots in the early food laws of the American colonies, which themselves incorporated “the tradition of food regulation established in England.” …(-citing a Virginia statute passed in 1873, that “made it an offense . . . [to] knowingly, sell, supply, or bring to be manufactured . . . milk from which any cream has been taken; or milk commonly known as skimmed milk”). Comprehensive federal regulation of the food supply has been in effect at least since Congress enacted the Pure Food and Drugs Act of 1906, and was strengthened by the passage of the FDCA in 1938. Thus, plaintiffs’ claim to a fundamental privacy interest in obtaining “foods of their own choice” for themselves and their families is without merit.

I cant remember what state it was in but, some schools started using fresh unprocessed foods in their cafeterias and banned soda pop , they found out the kids got healthy real fast and that their IQ even went up, and they also lost weight, so no one can tell me that food doesnt make a difference...
Like another poster said, I will go down fighting with my watering can and my shovel !!!!

I don't see how a bill like this will help in anyway. It's just more regulation and less freedom. This attacks a basic human need. Government has no right to control basic needs. Support and encourage yes, but control, NO!
