2012: What do YOU think will happen?

There will be a natural event in 2012. Natural and cyclical also. It happend in the past, thats why ancient civilizations like the Mayans knew about it. They were not psychic. As we can predict the return of the Halley-comet, they were able to predict the next event.
However i don't know what will this event be. Could be a huge meteor cluster/earth crust displacement etc.

What cycle do you have evidence for? The Mayans reported no cycle and they did not have any predictions associated with the end of the Haab calendar. The end of the Katun calendar also in 2012 has a prophecy of low yields of corn and squash.

Accept the fact, that you can't change everyone. You have your opinion, and others have other opinions about this topic.
According to your question:
The Mayans told about cycles. We live in the forth world and fifth begins on the 13. baktun. There was the third world before this and the timeframe is the same for all worlds.

Hopefully nothing will happen. But if Nibiru was to hit Earth, I would welcome it. Reading some of these posts makes me fearful of my own shadow. Death would end fear.

In my opinion there is going to be a serious shift in awareness of who we are, and how we create this reality. My theory is not bullet proof but many others are saying similar, especially the main spokesperson for the Mayan elders.

This is not a cataclysmic event, it's something much more special than that.

The earth's magnetic field is weakening, hence why the northern lights are now being seen further from the poles. The Schumann resonance is increasing in it's core vibration (the vibrations that come out of the earth - kind of like our heart beat). This in turn affects the particles inside our body, especially the magnetic field coming from our body and the way our brain works.

This statement seemed highly suspicious to me because that's not how genetics works. The entire quote you posted seemed questionable. I wanted to see what Braden actually wrote.

1. I went to Science magazine and went to the archives
   
2. I selected year 1996
   
3. I discovered that there was no August 17, 1996 issue
   
4. I checked the close by issues - nada
   
5. I did a search for Braden from 1990 to 2000 - nada
   

The site you quoted appears to have constructed a scientific sounding article with no validity that made references to and quoted nonexistent researchers and studies.

Who would have expected that? Well, I did and that's why I always double check.

The point where the super psychic kids started was back in 1974 in china. if you can find the original article, I would be most impressed. It was written by Marcello Truzzi and called China's Psychic Savants - in Omni magazine -(1985, January, Omni, 62–79)

Also here is another quote that points to UCLA, but can't seem to pin point their findings yet... talks of another child with the same situation as the previous article I quoted. If you can find more info that would be cool.

For most journals the choice is current issue and archives. Click on archives. Most archives are broken into the last n years and the older material. On the archives look for a link that states something about older issues.

For Science make sure you go to Science. There are other journals with similar names. The archives lists January 177 to present. Under that is a section called "Science Classic, July 1880 to December 1996". Look down and click on the link for "1990-1996".

If you do a full search from 1880 to the present you find a G. Braden is listed twice:

The claim in the article you referenced is bogus. I'm not particularly surprised. It happens all of the time. Someone wants to pretend that something is feasible so they make up stuff as they go along including references to journals.

In my opinion (stereologist, note the word opinion - you may safely ignore everything that follows)

there are two distinct possibilities.

1. That something of catastrophic proportions will happen on or about the year 2012 - massive CMEs, Pole Shift, Niburu, Galactic Rays from the center of the Galaxy, etc.

or

2. Nothing natural, but something huge socially - Complete collapse of world economy, WWIII, Super Bugs (diseases), etc. that is deliberately planned by TPTB.

Why do I say this? Well it seems to me that we are watching a great looting of the Earth because the PTB know something is coming and they plan on running to their secure locations when it comes leaving us to fend for ourselves and die. Then emerge when 80 - 90% percent of the population is gone and reclaim the Earth as theirs. Why else do they not care about oil spills, the failing infrastructure, the dollar, social security, etc.? They act as if there is basically no tomorrow. Maybe because there's not a tomorrow - either because of something natural or man made. Order out of Chaos.

Just a thought. Just an opinion. I am still entitled to both .... I think (stereologist?)

When we formulate an opinion we should eliminate the impossible issues such as Nibiru and pole shifts. There is no planet or larger object out there and pole shifts are slow events that have not happened in 200My. CMEs happen all of the time and do not appear to exterminate life on Earth.

Don't you think it is prudent to remove the impossible and see what is left?

I prefer not to pretend to know everything and keep an open mind. That way I don't invest my ego in my thinking and can easily change my mind (My Mega Mind!!) when new evidence comes to light.

havent even seen the movie..but stuff like
a pole shift, disruptions in our planetary stability..
natural disasters, collapses and wars ..just seems
to go with the territory..so as i prep for all hell breaking loose,
i couldnt say exactly what or when..maybe it's all nonsense..
i dont fret in a bunker. but i do take steps to cover my ass.

i think 12-21-12 will be the day God's witnesses are killed.

there will be a great celebration because these prophets tormented them with their constant 'repent and be saved in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins' doctrine.

everyone will hand out their christmas presents to each other early.

An open mind is not a bucket collecting every whimsical idea that is tossed out. It is demonstrable that pole shifts are rare geological events with none in the last 200My with the possible exception of an event 84Ma. Event hen the event is known to be slow taking millions of years to complete. None of the known pole shifts or TPWs was a destructive event. CMEs are two frequent to be considered extinction events. New planets are demonstrably nonexistent through gravitational and visual studies.

Pretending that these are possible catastrophic events through the claim of keeping an open mind is preposterous. An open mind examines the evidence and the evidence is substantial that none of these 3 leads to catastrophic events.

This was something Braden was referring to, not a study that he was involved in directly. I have searched and found some very interesting stuff but unfortunately I am not a specialist in DNA... damit. ucla has some interesting stuff but even if what I was referencing actually occurred there is no way it would be listed in journals on the web.

The super psychic kids are more important, there are so many cases on the web about their abilities and studies dating back at least thirty years.

I think this is a sign of some fantastic things to come, not doomsday, more like the day I have been waiting for my whole life.... but you are right with the gradual change. You should do some more research on the pole shift, I the poles are actually moving, quite fast IMO. It's not that disturbing until a synergy occurs with the schumann resonance.

The journal date does not exist. The closest date in on thin films. The other journal issue bracketing the date has one article on evolution titled, "The evolution of hyperactivity, impulsivity and cognitive diversity." The claims of the website appear to be backed by faked articles.

Can you find any of the articles mentioned about other subjects? Are they fakes as well?

I think you also missed the point. I'm not married to any particular theory and some have more merits than others.

You think having an open mind is synonymous with having to believe. I think having an open mind means admitting not everything is known and keeping in mind different possibilities and judging those possibilities according to ones own experience and understanding.

BTW we all know what you think how about giving some room for different opinions or do you consider yourself some sort of ATS opinion police force?

The title of this thread asked for our opinion - maybe we should get your permission before posting ours?

The 1859 event would not be significant today because there are ways we can address the threat such as unplugging devices and lowering the voltage on transmission wires. Unlike 1859 we understand that such an event can be damaging.

Miss the point? No. You also have my use of open mind quite incorrect. An open mind is someone willing to look at the evidence and reevaluate their position. An open mind does not mean accepting every story. The claim of an open mind is the typical excuse of someone that wants to claim that everything is possible, science is overturned constantly, and all sorts of the other drivel.
