Hi Gang,

I've been enjoying (if you can call it that) the live BP ROV video feeds since they were made available while I follow along with breaking news on the disaster here on ATS. However, I've been frustrated by all of the multi-video pages that I've tried. I'm on a Mac with a 24" screen and all of the feed pages that I've tried are misaligned and somewhat ugly, which makes them less useful/pleasant to monitor on a long-term basis or when doing video captures.

So, I created my own page that at least looks organized and aligned better than the others that I've seen (at least on my Mac - I haven't tested it on Windows yet):

BP Gulf ROV Operations Multi-Video Feed Page

Disclaimer: I have added a Google Ads block to the page to help defray my server expenses in case anyone bumps into the page from external searches, but I assure you that this is not an attempt to get ad revenue from ATS members. I really made it for my own use and then it dawned on me that others here might appreciate the page.

Enjoy and let me know if anything goes haywire on the page or if you would like to see anything added/changed.

Cheers!

-Greyling

Thanks Greyling

I had no problem loading and running your link on
my XP machine.

Looks great on my 17" laptop screen and the ad banner is easily scrolled out of view.

Thanks for sharing!

The flow seems a little stronger this morning, But the vibration is not as severe as yesterday.
Still very disturbing to see the never ending flow.

Awesome, thanks for letting me know Zeptepi!

I wish I could make the feeds load quicker, but that's just the media player - tried to use QuickTime objects, but they just weren't happy.

Gawd, watching all this video, I get the impression these guys are in way over their heads here. It's like watching a cheesy horror movie and you can already guess how all this is going to turn out, ha. We need another disaster, this one is loosing my interest. Something better happen soon or I'm going to change channels.

Been watching these feeds for some days now as I am sure others have too and what I see is no change, if anything things look like they are under more pressure. Just been watching Skandi - ROV 1 and ROV 2 spraying what I assume was dispersant into the main flow, it was white and looked almost like smoke.

Nothing seems to change and as mentioned above they look like they are jus moving bits and bobs about without actually doing anything, plus when they started spraying this stuff into the main flow, all the cams pointed down to the see bed as if you prevent anyone seeing whats happening.

Very odd state of affairs to say the least

They're just wiring up the nukes now. No peeking. They want it to be a surprise.

Boa ROV 1 - little arm poking, prodding, waving little flaggy thing then all this white 'powder's flapped about... Orange plume back in full force on another cam... they certainly are busy this evening trying DESPERATELY to make something, anything work...

Edit - to say that on BOA1, little arm carrying about a greenish cloth or length of flacid tubing...

Looked like they were trying to wrap it around that pipe:

Looks like a circus setting up down there to put on a show.

Boa 1 - they are fitting SOMETHING on down there; big discy thing.
Lots of work going on and whatever we believe that white smoky stuff to be has been disturbed a lot today...

Why would anyone trust these feeds coming from BP? They don't let anyone into the area to see whats happening on the surface 5,000 above the discharge, why would they show the whole world what's really happening 20ft away from the discharge?

Most likely the feeds are on a loop - we're interested and this is all we have so we tune in. Off to the see the ROV wizards.

Couple of interesting articles with details of whats going on (according to officials anyways)

I found them interesting and hope some of you do too:

Relief well drill is only days away from leaking oil pipe The first of two relief wells is within striking distance of the Macondo, about 15ft (4.5m) away from the pipe

Relief well drill is only days away from leaking oil pipe

On 20 April 2010 an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig killed 11 men and sent millions of gallons of oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico. This timeline tracks BP's attempts to control the spill, the unfolding environmental disaster and the political fallout of a bitter confrontation with the Obama administration. Use the tabs below to browse the full archive or focus on a topic

Hope you find them of some interest
