Avatars: Why did you choose yours?

I chose Lucy because she is one of our dogs and I liked the photo. I could have used one of our other pets, but they didn't have the same visual effect as our beloved Lucy. She's a good girl most of the time but has been known to get a bit loose sometimes...I guess that's a bit like me, except I'm neither a dog nor a girl!

But can one always be faithful to one's country, especially when one's country is doing wrong?

Mine is made by my best bud on ats. who put in my fur babies, two cats and a hamster. I have grey eyes and long brown hair but am nowhere near as cute.

why i felt the need?

-- it's kind of protocol in forums to have a visual personality.

-- i chose the one i have as i have a deep connection with the ocean and space.

-- it conveys a love for nature and intelligent life of all levels and shapes and races.

Mine is from a favorite movie of mine.

My avatar is modeled after Jacob Two Two the cartoon character and the painting behind Jacob is called Jacob's ladder, so Jacob Two-Two's Ladder, and it symbolizes the loss of innocence.

The obligatory ears around Jacob's neck is to let you know that Jacob is not just a soldier, but an uber soldier

I choose mine, because its me at the very beginning of the 21st century, at one of the best new years parties I have ever been to, lol. i just liked the way the colours came out with the lighting, that little blue thing on my head is a mr happy sticker, lol, "the millenium bug hasn't killed us, nostredamus you were wrong, we are still here and its all bright and cheerful", lol.

When I discovered that this picture of myself existed, and my soul had already been stolen by that damned photographer, I thought. I may as well use it as my ATS avatar.

I usually make a new one for myself every month or so as I have become addicted to Gimp and just love to make them as I find it very calming.

They are made depending on my mood at the time and have no significance other than that.

My current one is just stating that I feel no different than the animals that surround me, and deep down that's all we are....animals..

are just feelings that I had at the time and wanted people to think about them a bit and come up with their own meanings.

I think that a lot of people just want a different identity than others, don't want to be seen the same as everyone else, or have a message to convey that sometimes can be hidden and make one think.

Well...

I have an opinion on nearly everything. But I know I can't be right all the time.

I like it when I can influence. Almost as much as I like to learn new or correct things.
I can only be influenced by reading. If I want to influence, I need to participate.
If I actually want to learn something... I need to participate.

So... When I found my avatar on the net. It was the obvious choice.



I'm now looking for a way to make one myself. The process of getting a program to do so... has already proved to be rather time absorbing.

I dont have one.... I could never make one thats cool enough to stand up against/with the other avatars on this site so I didnt try... pretty sad really.. Id love to have a cool one.

Went into photoshop to make something completely different, and this is what came out, sorta a 'deny ignorance' play ;D

Mine doesn't really convey much about me. It's mostly just a bit of artistic expression. I guess you could say I really like nature, and I wouldn't mind spending a day or two (or months!) in the place in my avatar.

Funny this thread should come up, I got my avatar because I was reading through some thread in bts about avatars a couple of days ago, and I thought I should get one to. So I just scoured the internet for pics and stuff that interested me. Nothing caught my eye so then I began looking at ninjas and came to this site.

Anyways after reading some of the funny ninja theory's he had I remembered I read a little of this guys book when I used to skip high school and go to the library. So then I decided to look at funny ninja pics and found one that caught my eye a ninja kitty. I have no clue if it says anything about me but it's a cool picture.

Mine is Darwin.

I'm a tree hugger at heart, and my beard is my security blanket. So this photo was a perfect fit....and there's so much wisdom and peace behind his eyes in this photo.
