Explanation is easy and obvious, before he took the picture the phone teleported to his hand so photons could bounce off of it and then teleported back so phone camera could capture said photons just in time. "Faster than speed of light" theory is not feasible because phone actually going back would disrupt photons that previously bounced off the phone. Only instantaneous teleportation could do the trick. Well, that, or the phone captured photons from da future.

I suggest you all accept my ingenious and superior explanation before you unwittingly enter the endless loophole of mind-numbing idiocy
.

Although, I have recorded a video camera which was recording the video while at the same time eating my own head because I was trying to leap on the other end of infinity.

This post is absolutely ludicrous for many reasons.

1. You state faster than speed of light travel by the phone would
disrupt photons as they travel thru space back to the phone, but
you are ASSUMING this travel took place thru the space where said
photons are present without ever considering that the phone may have
taken one of many different paths. For example, the phone MAY HAVE
been traveling at velocities MANY times the SOL and could
therefore have traveled completely AROUND the universe before coming to
rest, thereby making your point about photon disruption irrelevant
AND short-sighted!

2. You use the terms teleportation and teleported and YET!, the ATS
spell-checker clearly shows that these terms are mis-spelled (at best) and
probably (I haven't researched it, as yet, but am planning to) don't
exist as TRUE words. And only true words can have TRUE meaning.
So your ~tele-whatever~ is just plain bunk IMHO.

3. However ingenious and superior your opinion may be, I take exception
when told to stay out of loopholes, and mind-numbing idiocy (as you put it)
is something I rather enjoy from time to time.

4. As for your last paragraph, IF and I say IF, you did eat your own head and
have it on camera, then put up or shut up. I say, no film=false claim.
(and any rocket scientist knows you CANNOT jump from one end of
infinity to the other without passing thru a space-time vortex that would
literally turn your insides outside, so even if you did accomplish this feat
(and I highly doubt it) you would have had to DO IT twice so that you
would have physically been able to create your highly suspicious post.

My two cents:

The laws of physics (even those we do not yet know of) couldn't have been broken or bent else many people would be having these experiences.

The only possibility that I can think of is that you are remembering the order of events incorrectly. This isn't meant as an insult or criticism, but is merely a fact of human nature. Since the phone was falling and required catching, the speed of events can sometimes be recorded in the brain in the wrong order.

There is no way something can take a picture of itself by itself. There is no way a camera pointed away from itself can take a picture of itself from the opposite angle.

Is he right handed or left handed? Also if he dropped it then caught it before it hit the ground at which point in relationship to his body did he get the camera back in his hand?

This is like watching "Jay Walking" on the Tonight Show, but in a much, much, much more profoundly disturbing way.

Yup.

They tried to be tricky about it too...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Two identical Samsung phones were used.

Two phones.

If (Though impossible) camera could catch pic of itself,it wouldn't be of the
said phone upside down and from the left,as seen clearly in picture.

An object facing forward cannot take a picture of the backside of itself, hardly simple physics, more like common sense...

If object (A) has a lens facing forwards, even if it falls, it wills always be facing forwards as opposed to the back of object (A) facing direction (B), it's impossible for such object to take a picture of itself...

Lol
I really wanted to make an animated gif of a rotating phone...

I suppose I could have used a lighthouse, the reasoning is the same...

Yes it was very entertaining indeed. Helped me see what kinds of people are on here

I had to register to say I can't believe the topic went on for so long, and even made it to the front page....

The answer is right in front of all your noses, and I have yet to see someone mention it.

If you look at the image in the OP, you can see the upper right of the image is clear and focused, but the man, his hand, and the phone, are blurry because of motion blur. This means the camera taking the picture was NOT moving.

ALL the objects in the image would be blurry if the camera taking the picture was moving. The only thing moving in the picture is the man and the phone you see in the picture.

This mean the image was taken with two different cameras.

This means a lot of people on ATS don't know the basics of reality.

I wonder if thats why it was moved in the [HOAX!] section

[HOAX!] » Help ... How Did My Phone Take a Picture of Itself?

it was a pretty entertaining read through ...

This was already stated by another but is worth repeating:

If the OP's husband has really told her that the phone took a picture of itself then she needs to ask him why he has a secret phone he's been hiding from her. I can think of a few reasons...

More likely an intentional hoax by the OP though. Haven't seen her reply lately.

Even sadder than this hoax is how easily others can actually think this is possible. Lets us know why it is so easy to convince the masses that buildings can collapse perfectly on their own footprint from jet fuel.

I just got sad. We are scroomed (screwed and doomed).

Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: Even the wise man lives in the fools paradise.

If the people on here don't get it, then who will? I guess it's time to stop fighting and just adapt.

Goodbye sweet America!

I'm not an expert but....

You hit thee "take picture" picture button, right as you were flipping the phone around.

The light reflected off the mirror and got the picture of your phone???

Or a fraud, and a not so important thread...

Maybe??

Sorry, I know I shouldn't post and drag this thread on any longer but I couldn't resist

As someone who believes that paranormal and unexplained events can and do occur, I would have really loved for this to be some kind of 'camera takes picture of the future' scenario like from the Twilight Zone or something

But, as many people have stated, there is absolutely no way that a camera on the back of a phone can take a picture of it's own front. Impossible. Cannot be done.

Still, highly entertaining thread that I just can't stay away from out of morbid curiosity

For the love of all thats holy ,PLEASE JUST LET THIS THREAD DIE..
its an insult of all our intelligence for this thread to have 177 replies and still be on the front page ,im guilty myself now i know for posting this. but for the last two days i have been patiantly waiting for this disaster to go the way of the dinasaur and yet it hasnt and with all that is really going on in the world and all the insightful threads brought forth by our readership it is mindblowing to me that we are still wasting thoughtpower on this...
