Israel Threatens War if Turkish PM Tries to Deliver Gaza Aid

Israeli Army commander and top Likud member Uzi Dayan today warned on Israeli Army Radio that Israel would consider any attempt by the Turkish military to protect future aid ships from attack an “act of war.”
With Israeli protesters already condemning Erdogan, is war on the table?

Dayan then added that if Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan attempted to accompany the aid ships personally, as he has reportedly considered “we would not try to take over the ship he was on, but would sink it.” He added that Erdogan’s presence on a future aid ship would also be a casus belli for an Israeli

So an Israeli Army Commander "Uzi Dayan" (fitting name btw) warns that any attempt by the Turkish military to protect aid ships would be considered an act of war.

He was quoted as saying that he would 'sink' any ship that Prime Minister Erdogan was on....

If that quote is factual, that's quite hostile.

I don't know the legality of all this in an international sense. But it seems that making open threats like that is not very diplomatic, to say the least.

War between Turkey and Israel will drag in China and Russia,the USA is already dug in fortunately in Iraq, but it could all lead to an Atomic war.

This is factual. It has been reported everywhere. And this guy is a nutjob, and unfortunately, he has power.

And in recent polls in Israel more than 78% of Israelis now think that Turkey is an enemy.

I think Israel is crazy enough to go to war instead of stopping their blockade.

One ship will dock at the Egyptian port and the two others will try to force the blockade... one is supposed to be filled with Iranian army militias... so you could have a ship going to the bottom there... and probably a bunch of dead Israelis if they try to board it...

This could get nasty real quick.

In the more distant future, Turkey is planning to send ships, maybe escorted, and a big flotilla of more than a hundred ships + people in cars and walking will try to break the blockade in September... we'll see if the organization can pull it off.

For the sake of EVERYONE, Israel must stop their BS blockade.

I'm torn on this. On the one hand, a blockade is a perfectly legal and (depending on the circumstances) justifiable military tactic during a stand off. On the other hand, I know full well we (USA) will get dragged into this if Turkey and Israel go to war. If we'd just stay out of it, I'd see no problem with Israel doing this.

On a side note, props to Erdogan if he personally is in attendance on one of the ships. Ahmadinejad would never do that because he knows the ship would be at the bottom of the Mediteranian faster than he could say "Boo."

Hostile? how is that hostile? I mean when I don't want my neighbours to come onto my property I simply say:

"good morning, if you come onto my property to feed the starving dog I have chained to my foundations on a 12inch long spiked chain in the baking sun, with no water to feed and water him and give him medicine to help with the mange and other inhuman ailments he has, I will shoot you dead."

What's unreasonable about that? I think Israel should start a public relations company, the adverts would be enthralling. Just think of a TV advert like this:

Yeah, I understand your concerns about Islamic nations threatening the west and all that but you cant go on preaching one thing to Iran whilst your doing the exact opposite....

Any potential conflict between Turkey and Israel will destroy Nato as Nato nations split between the two camps.....

And dont think Russia wont get involved.....they'll be carefully watching what Israel launches and any hint of an ICBM launch towards Turkey Im sure will wipe Israel off the map.

This is a dangerous game and in this current times I dont think anyone is stupid enough to use nukes.

And if they are, then they have to take out all thier potential enemies out at once to remove the possible threat of retaliation....a tough ask.

Dont foget, Turkey has a large amount of US nukes on their soil....how is that going to affect the situation? I dont know....can turkey use those nukes without US knowledge? if it wanted......

What we all forget is Israel cannot be pushed around by anyone, why?
Because they have Atomic weapons and one of the best equipped, trained military forces in the world.
I imagine they have subs with missiles also, they are a world power, and are a much safer ally than Turkey.
I didnt know the USA had Nuclear missiles in Turkey? If so you pose a great question about autonomous firing.
But I disagree with you sorry about the world showing Israel it means business, Turkey and Iran need shown, but Turkey has a good military force as well, so it could get messy.
Russia and China...boy we have some big enemies.

Also, if your going to occupy a land (palestine) you have to do EVERYTHING in your power to provide the basic necessities to the innocents in that area. something which, israel has never done!

It takes weeks sometimes for aide to pass through "check points".

If its food or water, SEND IT THROUGH! If you OCCUPY them, you must provide for them!

We cannot do that. Both Israel and Turkey are allies with the United States.
