As a web developer this kind of thing happens. Its not directed from google to disclose.tv

Google believes in freedom of speach and their fight with China should prove that.
Whats happening is the trolls on disclose.tv decided to take them down by posting links with malware in them knowing what google's response will be.
They succeeded, very small steps can be taken to correct this problem rather quickly but it seems to not be happening.

Whenever you have user generated content/forums this kind of thing can be done, you need to put in checks and balances in place that can proactively avoid these issues.

Posting a link is a common thing and easily done, if i posted a link in this forum to a malware site that downloaded a virus to your machine upon visit and nothing was done about it, this site would also be listed as a dangerous site. Heck, i know developers who wont run antivirus or do malware scans thinking they solve any problem, they get infected and their sites get hacked....even those with high security settings get infected from time to time, which leaves anything they have access to open to exploit.

Its not a huge conspiracy, its just someone exploiting a web site to get google to react. It worked.

Well this is where it gets touchy.
Don't harm users is understandable.

Don't lie? Well now you are talking censorship. Who decides what is a lie? Is there a Google or Mozilla panel that judges "truthfulness"? Is there an "internet opinion police"?

A part of the content posted there is obviously misleading. The latest example was a post describing the israeli protest in front of Turkey embassy in Israel as being a "celebration" of the recent attack. Not that i dont think this may be possible but it was not what the video depicted. The website staff was informed and did nothing to remediate the error. This is only one example.
This is interesting. If the video didn't show "celebration" then the post wasn't actually lying. It did not attempt to pass off blatant falsifications as fact. It was however blatantly embellished by the poster's personal bias. It is no different than the labeling the "tea parties" as violent mobs and then viewing the video evidence of a dozen smiling grandmothers waving poorly constructed protest signs. Spin happens every day in politics and journalism. It is just opinion. So "opinion police" in action here?

Bad news - Google is blocking ad serving to Disclose.tv

Greetings, Okay guys, today I have some disturbing news. We just received an email from Google. They accused Disclose.tv of showing 'inappropriate content' and therefore will stop serving Google Adsense ads to Disclose.tv in the very near future. Frankly, it was just a matter of time for this to happen. As you all can imagine video hosting is a VERY EXPENSIVE endeavour. Furthermore Google Adsense is the only ad network that serves ads with an acceptable CPC (cost per click). And the income we were abel to generate with Google just covered our monhtly costs. All other easily accessible networks (like Adbrite etc) pay junk statut CPCs. Premium networks will not accept Disclose.tv at all. This is not about size (i.e. number of videos/pages served), no WE ARE HUGE, but again because of the content presented on Disclose.tv. We tried that already. Thus, like Wikileaks recently, we are on the brink of a little disaster here and have to find a workable solution for the community and for Disclose.tv to continue the mission. The owner of Disclose.tv is willing to provide full cover of all costs for a certain period going forward, but a solution to at least cover the costs for the hosting is required ASAP. In light of this the team and I have to ask all of you, the DTV community, how to proceed going forward. We know from other sites that donations do not work as they are not plannable at all. Thus, the a way out to free us from the content control and censorship imposed by ad networks is some form of subscription model (Paypal?) to access only some video content on Disclose.tv or some additional new features for an absolute acceptable yearly price (i.e. 3 Starbuck coffees). Your feedback, ideas and comments are highly appreciated. Kind regards, Lukas Disclose.tv Site Admin

Starred and Flagged.

Well LIVELEAK.com is hosting the same video of Senator Budd Dwyer committing suicide and they have not suffered the same fate as Disclose.tv. So this must be related to censoring other material namely conspiracy content.

Here is the Live Leak link to the video that Disclose is being punished for.

I HAVE REMOVED THE LINK because the video is gross but feel free to ironically "Google" the the live leak video and you will get an unhindered direct link WITHOUT warnings, straight to the video.

I think it is obvious what is going on here.

EDIT: btw the video has been on Live Leak since OCTOBER 2006 lol.

You don't have to worry about them taking this site down. They have way to many embeds and it serves them well here. If your stupid enough to believe what they have to say, which most people here don't.... I can't believe they think intelligent people don't know who they are once they read their posts.....lol....

As Zaiger has pointed out, such videos are against the Terms and Conditions and will be removed. Any further postings of such content may as well result in further action.

Now back to the topic please...

Onasty,
Your reply lives up to your moniker... nasty.
Say... I've never been called a whimsy twit before

If you think so poorly of ATS, why are you here?

Though, does he have a point?
Is ATS safe because it has value?

I went to the OP's link for disclostv and Firefox served me well.
I watched several videos, stopped to get a cup of coffee and when
I came back, the next link I clicked brought back a white screen. And now
that is all I get a WSOF.....(white screen of failure).

On a side note: (about a month ago)

I cannot use Google search without being knocked offline from my laptop.
I have a router at home and the static computer in the living room can
access Google just fine. Also when friends come over with their latops
google is accessible to them as well, but if I try a Google search from MY
laptop it knocks the whole ISP offline, sometimes for hours at a time
until it connects to the ISP again....I still haven't figured that out

The point isn't to watch the video. The point is that Live Leak is a very reputable video site used by CNN many times is allowed to host the video without Google repercussions but Disclose TV is punished.

Unquestionable bias.

Pretty much what it comes down to is Google is the biggest piece of crap ever.
They have been caught stealing personal data from people.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

And have no problem bowing down to chinese censorship when it suits them financially.
Personally i now use alta vista and bing and refuse to use Google and their appications whenever possible.
They use this thing called google adwords which is just a tool to extort money from small businesses, and sell other people's copyrights. For example if you had a store and you sold "Brand X food" you might add "Brand x food" as one of your add words. The problem is that "brand X food" is a copyrighted name for a product . So Google makes you pay and turns a proffit off selling other people's copyrighted names.
With Google having it's own browser and soon it's own OS they will be trying desperately to drag everyones name through the dirt. Google will be what ends up ruining the internet. I would bet anything on that in 10 years or so google will try to get everyone to pay a small fee to google to certify that your web page is "safe" while anyone who refuses to pay will have their site labeled as "potentioally harmfull".
Ironically ATS is on the band wagon and uses the google search funstion here and uses google adsense.

Ok so i was looking at the hijacking of the disclose.tv site by the malware filter and thought to myself it was odd especially after the removal of their paid advertising.

I use a mac and also a windows 7 machine and was able to disable the malware filter to view Disclose.tv HOWEVER to day is different, when you go to their site now you get the usual firefox - Unable to Connect page. in Chrome you get Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to www.disclose.tv
Suggestions:
Try reloading: www. disclose. tv

So to those that said it is someone trying to hurt or disrupt disclose I have to say "Don't think so" This is someone who warned Disclose.tv to do something and used the filter as a warning which they did not follow. Now the site is not just down it is GONE!!!!!!!!

$10 says they screwed up a maintenance update and I end up looking like a dill.

2.32 central time and guess what the site is BACK. Told you it was screwed up maintenance, or maybe they caved in after being tortured and took down the UNKNOWN offending video?!!!!

ok i tried to get to site through a direct link apparently theres no such link. So i googled disclose tv went to site diagnostics tool and found this

What is the current listing status for disclose.tv?

Part of this site was listed for suspicious activity 1 time(s) over the past 90 days.

What happened when Google visited this site?

Of the 391 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 2 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2010-06-01, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2010-05-31.

Has this site acted as an intermediary resulting in further distribution of malware?

Over the past 90 days, disclose.tv did not appear to function as an intermediary for the infection of any sites.

Has this site hosted malware?

No, this site has not hosted malicious software over the past 90 days.

How did this happen?

In some cases, third parties can add malicious code to legitimate sites, which would cause us to show the warning message.

Next steps:

* Return to the previous page.
* If you are the owner of this web site, you can request a review of your site using Google Webmaster Tools. More information about the review process is available in Google's Webmaster Help Center.

Google is doing this to many, many sites now a day.

It's mostly caused by an old FTP, some how some files are being uploaded to sites that don't use a secure FTP program. Also using content management is now all of a sudden a very bad idea to google for some reasons.

Happened to one of my dads sites. He had to redo his site and take it off content management and after contacting google and asking for a rescan it was taken off the warning status.

Google sucks, it's becoming the new AOL punk of the Internet.

As a long time visitor at Disclose.tv I can honestly say I have mixed feelings about their untimely passing. I always respected the spirit of the place as an outlet for "disclosure" and sometimes (like 3% of the time) they actually had an interesting leak or two worth watching. Unfortunately the site was routinely overrun by a right-wing, gun loving, religious, hateful and dooms day prophecy obsessed community. I'm not sure how much of that was related to an active disinfo movement but it was nearly impossible to interact there unless you tow the party line. More disturbingly, users with contrary opinions were regularly run off the site by coordinated threats, intimidation and a cabal of incredibly biased moderators.

So all of that said, I'd very much like to see a new site evolve out of Disclose.tv's passing that has a more centered conspiracy community (if such a thing is possible). Or at least a place that doesn't harbor and actively support some of the worst aspects of the right-wing agenda freaks that have somehow infiltrated the modern conspiracy movement.

I found a way to get around the problem using Firefox and Internet Explorer. I uninstalled Google toolbar. I also went into control panel and did a add/remove search. I then uninstalled everything Google with the exception of Google Earth. I can now go to the site using Firefox or Internet Explorer. Just make sure you restart the browsers. Google is obviously behind this attack or someone hacked Google somehow. I wonder why?
