You are right they are not helping the Blacks by making it easy for them they are hurting them and keeping them as slaves to the system. Affirmative action is the worst thing for them and so is Ebonics. They need to fail and then learn how to lead themselves or they will for ever be followers.

I think the entire populace is brainwashed in to voting and participating in a two party system. A two party system that rarely changes, if at all. Wars still exist, rights are still awarded to us by fellow human beings no less. These same human beings determine what we can and cannot do. These same human beings enact new laws in order to protect us, on a regular basis. There are now 600,000 laws currently on the books in the United States of America. That certainly sounds excessive to me.

no matter what party is elected by the majority of people, whether it be the republicans or the democrats, they both pander to the corporations, they both send Americans off to foreign lands to die in the name of freedom. In reality they are sent off to foreign lands to die in the name of greed. They are both out of touch with the common people. They both awarded bailouts to the international banking firms, who turned around and awarded themselves bonuses on top of their overly inflated salaries. They are both turning a blind eye to the thousands of Americans who have lost their homes, They both want to see an end to unemployment benefits which would place thousands of Americans out on the streets, They all live lavish lifestyles off of the backs of the American taxpayer who pay these people their wages, their benefits, and their retirement pensions. They all have the financial means to pay for their own health care, as well as their families, while millions of American people can't even afford to purchase health insurance. They have both played a role in the outsourcing of millions of jobs in America, as well as the decline in the manufacturing sector.

They have both played a systematic role in the near deliberate act of bankrupting the United States of America by invoking two wars in the middle east that will more than likely never be won. In fact, the longer these conflicts exist, the worse the situation over there has become. The wars have spread in to other countries such as Pakistan for example. Now they want us to believe that Iran poses a significant threat to our way of life. Whatever our way of life even means for that matter.

Some states cannot even afford to provide their citizens with tax returns. Instead, they have offered them IOU's. Other states are closing down schools and laying off law enforcement.

I mean, how could anyone truly still adhere to political partisanship, when it is so clearly evident that the democrats and the republicans have both taken a bite out of America for the last several decades. And as an extra kick in the chops, they have used the media to their advantage in order to ensure that Americans point their fingers at each other in blame and further the spread of division, anger and resentment throughout the country.

Good for you and like I said 2 out of 10 make it to be something. I dont know why this is but it is the truth. I dont understand why the Black culture does not listen to men like Bill Cosby and others? They want to listen to leaders that keep them in the cycle. And the one's that preach self control and taking blame for your mistakes are outcasts to other blacks? Colin Powell is another one.

It is a great documentary on this very subject. The democratic party of today is the same as the one 150 years ago, but in my opinion worst. Instead of using slavery, now they use welfare/housing projects and social programs to limit African American's freedom. Not only do they wage war on the living, but they strategically place planned parenthood cllinics in the black neighborhoods to kill a disproportionate number of black children before they are born. I highly recomend it to anyone that actually cares about the subject, and doesn't repeat the dems' montras.

Just thought I'd throw this hysterical tidbit out there.

A family member in Virginia is a member of some Democrat social club. They do fund raising for the party and support local democrats and stuff like that.

Here's the funny part: not her nor anyone else in her social club want to invite any black members to join. She actually told me they could do more good for the "blacks" without them interfering.

I have to laugh everytime I think of her and her club.

About the thread...I believe the blacks just cannot relate to most republicans and that would be because republicans have so few blacks in thier party.

I find that caucasions who are angry with Affirmative Action are usually failures in life and use this as an excuse to explain thier lives. Affirmitive Action may help them get where they are...but you got to be able to perform for you to stay..and if you can't your out. Successful business's succeed because they only keep the best.

I don't think that racism is restricted to ones political affiliation. Whether one is republican, democrat, or an independent, it doesn't really play a factor in my opinion. There are bigots from all walks of life and they come in all shapes, sizes and colours.

Attempting to pin down racism to one political party solely, seems ignorant to me, and in all honesty, neither party seems like they give two craps about the American people. Whether they happen to be black, white or otherwise. They don't seem to discriminate.

You know as much as most of what you said infuriates me and makes me sick to my stomach a lot of what you said is true. The main thing your missing and perhaps don't want to see is the why. So let me start first with affermative action and work backwards. AA. is still necessary because racism is still so prevelent. A less qualified less experienced white man will still get hired over a black, because all that whiteman sees is the percieved faults of his race instead of the person in front of him. There are many examples of this and I have experienced it personally. AA seeks to level the playing field a bit.

Now as to the broken down family structure etc. that all goes back to slavery. And the same tired arguement about blacks selling their anccestors into
slavery doesn't wash. For one that was an extremely small percentage. And if you knew African history you'd understand that it was common for tribes to trade people as indentured servents for a price. They had no concept of true slavery. Just like native Americans had no concept of land ownership when they sold Manhattan for marbles. Yes I'm sure there were men who were sinister etc but once again you are dealing with a minority of a minority of a minority.

Slavery destroyed our names, race, religon, God, and families were purposely split in most cases before the auction block in order to stem uprising. In fact slave ships would dock at many ports get a twenty here an twenty there so that many of the slaves didn't even speak the same language or come from the same tradition. They lost all contact with their roots and families.

Now just imagine for a minute if you were placed on a boat with a bunch
of people you didn't know and couldn't understand eachother and the only thingyou had in common was the color of your skin. By the time you got to America 50% of the people had died some you may have just got to know as you watched there bodies tossed overboard. Only to go through more displacement hell and torture when you got here.

Then after slavery you had the Lynch mobs. Any crime that was commited, especially rape was blamed on a black man and he was strung up that could have been your dad brother uncle. Then you had segregation seperate resturants waterfountains and swimming pools. And this didn't end fully until the 1970s. In fact when I was a kid in 1986 in Cleveland visiting my aunt there were still public swimming pools we couldn't go to. So this sh.t isn't all that old.

When something has carried onthis long it becomes ingrained in your blood. And the dismantling of the family structure in the black community is such a thing. I could go on about the CIA crack connection, the advancement of gangsta rap by Zionists over more positive black music which are also contributing factors but I gotta get to work so one last thing an I'm out.

The leadership of countries in Africa before slavery was stable and fruitful. Even for sometime afterward until the French came in and brainwashed shaka into their form of brutality such destabilization and rampant killing was unheard of.

All these third work governments are puppet governments installed and removed by our corporate interests to extract resources so that's not a race thing. That is an American tradition.

How about that, maybe in your neck of the woods people are "brainwashed" but that doesn't go for all states where is large populations of blacks.

There are no republicans or democrats, just like there aren't any "whites" or "blacks".
What there is however, people and power.
Sometimes people get hypnotized by power, other times they try to control power. Either way, power always wins as it is not physical. Only way to win against power is to forget its existance, don't try to find it.

I appreciate you serving your country, especially considering all the anti american sentiments thrown around here lately.

I have several friends that are of African-American descent, and they have told me basically the same thing as far as being indoctrinated into being a Democrat.

The funny thing is 3 out of 4 of them are upset they voted for Obama, and are really disappointed. The weird thing is, a black man (half) was voted in as president, people made a huge deal about it, saying it was a historic event, and that its the culmination of decades of civil right movements. Instead, Obama has made more black people turn to conservatism.

People were so brainwashed by "Hope" and "Change," they failed to see what was really going on.

The other poster is right IMO in saying there really is a one party system now. It seems like these days, politics is (very blatantly) being run by lobbyists and corporate executives.

We do need leaders we can believe in. Im glad you serve under men that you can trust and believe in.

On a side note, (my cousin is a staunch democrat, and even serves in Obama's cabinet!!!) Ive been hearing a lot of chatter from my family ties, that the GOP is grooming General Petraeus as the next party leader, and possible presidential hopeful.

To the other posters: Say what you want about the WAR, about our military, about our country, this man is someone who I think would do a better job than our current regime.

Africans allowed it to happen, and got rich in the process. Ever wonder why true Africans look down on African Americans? No one was arguing that slavery wasn't a horrible crime against mankind, so why are you throwing this red herring into the debate? Fact of the matter is, that many of my friends and family vote "D' right down the ballot, having no clue who the candidate is nor what they stand for. Look up Blanche Bruce, He was the Republican Senator that represented Mississippi from 1875-1881. He was a former slave that became a US senator 10 years after emancipation. This doesn't cause you to think something other than ancestoral slavery is responsible for the mess we are in today? And why was he a republican?

Exactly, I feel the same. This anti americanism on ATS that has become so prevalent is really unnecessary and counter productive.

This place is becoming over populated enough, It takes me 20 minutes to drive a mile and a half to get to the market. It should be apparent that both major parties only true interests are in what it takes to get your vote. Strict adherence to either idealogy would seem to be slavery.
