This picture is so sad but it's all I've got at the moment.

She is showing a majesty I've not seen in over a decade. I have no way of gauging how high the lava is shooting up in the air - I'm not a judge of it but it's magnificent! The lava flow looks like it's taking up half the side of the volcano - it's just stunning. Stunning!

Get to those live web cams people - it's really the 'big one' this time... Maybe not the BIG ONE but it's more of an event than I've seen in, like I said, over a decade.

She's so beautiful it hurts.

What hurts more is I'm out of batteries! NOOOOOO! Of all the days!

But really these pictures do Her NO justice at all. None! I'll keep trying though!

If this continues I'll make sure and get closer and get some up close and personals for you all. Let's see how it unfolds.

living so close, i would make a mold of something special to me and set it out to become filled with lava (and eventually harden. You should try that!

You really should start a new thread for this.....I started reading it from the begining and got several pages in before I realized it was an old one (didn't figure it out until I saw my own post from a year ago....

This could be really big news if it 'goes'. Hopefully it will calm back down and the nearby underwater volcano is not acting up. I'll bet those believing the predictions are freaking out!!!

I sure hope you are using a camera with a VERY good telephoto lense!!!!

how big is this?

big as in a great natural event to be watched?

or big as in above plus active threath to human populations?
