The guy said "he wouldn't even make a joke about this subject"...

I've decided to take his word on it.

Until, of course, I am forced not to (if that ever need be the case).

So keep the good reports up and the time passing!

One time I saw a shooting star that looked like a comet. Had a big long green/red tail as it slowly glowed through the sky and then exploded into several pieces...was crazy

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

So true...so true.

Well the OP has made it clear that he has his hands full with a pregnant wife and a baby at home.

I'm sure aliens don't have him...

Ok...I'm not SURE.

But close enough.

I'm so glad I've came across this post, just recently I saw something similar, I believe. However, I'm in the Northern Untied States. I was in the passenger seat of the car when I saw a huge shooting star or something and it was on fire and such, I thought I was insane. Seeing this post relieved my fears on my sanity, haha. S&F

Take care,

Great, a discussion about an event that the eye witness took no picture, recorded no video and no media has covered, so far. Nice!!

I saw a similar thing when I was living in Senegal. Looked very low in the sky and I was sure it would land within maybe 20 miles. But I read in the paper next morning that it ended up landing in Mali around 250 miles away. So I would advise against grabbing a camera and jumping the car.

I can confirm that it wasn't this rocket. I had been following the thread for probably an hour already as I watched the Launch from Baikonur live via satellite.

Peace

I once saw a gigantic daytime fireball; no one else saw it, and I live in a major city. It is always amazing to me how nobody looks up. It really is possible to see something incredible and for nobody else to see it.

Hope you get some more corroboration of your sighting.

Two Russian cosmonauts and an American astronaut have blasted off for a resupply and restaffing mission to the International Space Station

news.sky.com... 1004115591127?f=rss

The latest launch was from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Their missions ends in September, just before the last-ever shuttle flight - from the Kennedy Space Centre.

That means Russia is now the sole nation sending crews into space.

US President Barack Obama has called for an end to America's moon programme.

So, despite ageing technology, Russia's rocket fleet will be responsible for US and other nation's space missions.
