There won't ever be a surplus if we continue to keep our heads in the sand. This current healthcare system contributed to 60% of this nations bankruptcies last year alone:

The number of uninsured is going up. We have people missing the doctors because of costs, because of silly pre-existing conditions that they are not covered, and it wounds up costing the nation when they end up at the ER.

We had an opportunity during the 90's when the economy was on the up again and guess who stopped any further effort to fix the system then? Gingrich lead by his mob on the rightwing and calls of 'socialimisms'. We have waited long enough so either come up with solutions or stop the excuses.

Both parties share the blame for our massive deficit. Bush and his cronies for spending untold trillions in Iraq/Afghanistan, and Obama for keeping us there, as well as not being able to spend money fast enough on his various programs.

I for one hope we have a candidate step up who will get the country's financed in order again.

"SOCIALISM is great, until you run out of other peoples money."
Margaret Thatcher

“Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Sir Winston Churchill

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened."
Norman Thomas, 1936 presidential candidate on the Socialist ticket

I see a failing America coming very soon, and this time it's going to hit harder than the fall of housing industry. This time the entire world will lose confidence in America economic ability and at that very moment it's "game over".

This is a bad recession, millions are out of work, guess what coming when America goes broke. I doubt many here can remember the Great Depression, but I see number two coming and it will not take much to start the cards falling. "How can that happen?" Just watch.

We are not purchasing products as we were a year ago, many countries that fueled their economies on the American dollar are now on the brink of bankruptcy and the domino effect is again in play. All it's going to take is one country just a bit bigger than Greece to go bankrupt and just like the housing industry except this time it will be a "global" house of cards that will fall.

Spending this next trillion dollars right now should about do it, put America in bankruptcy.

Where does the current government think it's going to raise the money? From the "rich", and when they stop spending to pay more taxes than what? Those countries start to fall and fail.

I hope you all have your storm cellars ready cause a # storm is looming.

America does not have another trillion dollars to spend and I'm betting China is not going to continue to bankroll our collective stupidity.

This might be the most sensible thing I have read thus far in this thread.

Oh I agree with you on that argument.

Bush and his cronies for spending untold trillions in Iraq/Afghanistan, and Obama for keeping us there,

I think it is time to withdraw from Afghanistan while continuing the hunt for Bin Laden. As for Iraq we are currently in a withdrawal period. Its been a complete waste and continues to be so for the time being.

as well as not being able to spend money fast enough on his various programs.

Obama has been unable to pass any programmes since he came to office aside from the current healthcare reform bill. There was a stimulus bill and as of yet there is still $400 billion awaiting to be distributed to the states.

I for one hope we have a candidate step up who will get the country's financed in order again.

It will certainly have to be somebody who will focus on ending our foreign involvement globally, cutting aid from Israel, and raising tariffs, promoting insourcing, jobs for America. Somebody who will strengthen the borders and hold the healthcare system to scrutiny at every opportunity.

The United States, as the founding fathers envisioned it, died around 150 years ago.

The country that emerged from that died in the 1930s.

Realistically, the nation that emerged from the Depression died on September 11th, 2001.

We are currently still in this post 9-11 phase. The 2nd Insurance company bailout, aka the Healthcare bill, is part of this phase.

Change is constant and eventually we will enter a new phase.

Every country does this. Our parent country, Britain, has been through even more phases of government. No country remains in stasis.

What are you all so afraid of?
Apathy.

We are supposed to fear Obama, Jones, Emmanuel, and Cass Sunstein. We are expected to be so overcome by fear that we cannot function to resist. We are supposed to fear punishment.

Gwydionblack, you're not the first to post this. "The Globalist" beat you to it in 2001. You're merely assigning a time frame to what "The Globalist" already predicts.

Example

[quote="The Globalist"]

Consider the President of the United States. Even though he regularly breaks every known check on his power, no one can stop him. He goes ahead and does whatever we want him to do anyway. The Congress has no power to stop him.

He does what we want since he knows if he does not, because of his rather dark character, we can have him removed in a moment's time. Is not that a rather brilliant strategy on our part? You cannot take us to court because you can't see us and the courts are our servants as well.

Here's the link Letter from The Globalist

You can choose to believe the mass media that they are all "racist republicans" or you can believe the truth that they are average Americans fighting for a better tomorrow. Regardless the truth stands- we are on the edge of revolution. I guarantee it. Do not consider this a prophecy, do not consider it an inkling, consider this cold, hard, fact.

There will be revolution in this country within the next two years. The passing of Health Care today will be the first catalyst in that situation. The voices of the people have been ignored and spat upon - it is soon time we throw their weapons back to them.

Dude this reaction reminds me of what happen when Bush Got Elected 10 years ago.

Remember, you people sound just like those loony Liberals 10 years ago.

And The TEA PARTY does not Represent America. They Represent the 20% Fringe of the Right.

Loony Liberals are no different from you sir, a Crazy Conservative. Your acting like a child who didn't get Ice CReam just like the Loony Libs of the entire Bush Admistration.

The Party That represent America is the Coffee Party.

lmao. what i am about to write is completely relevant.

this guy here is a fine example of exaggerated cause and effect. like a kid whom his parent put soap in his mouth because he cursed, his animosity towards them will lead him to exaggerate his injury to blindness and growing up to be homeless. why would the kid fantasize about ridiculous and outrageous injuries from gnawing on soap? to make his parent sorry they did that to him. that is a childs mentality.

what does this have to do with this post? you can see here the same mentality, this man is angry at his govt and hope for the worst outcome possible for their choice, which is outrageous.

Perhaps your America is dead but mine still trundles on despite its best efforts to stop all change.

Some may want to stop change at all costs because said change didn't come from their own party but that just ensures America doesn't evolve and if we don't evolve we really will die.

I don't know where you've been, but for some people, America never began and they've been struggling to survive ever since.

We all showed up at the last show of the night and the actors are lame and tired. The horse is dead, it's just getting eatin by maggots. The Rich are the maggots and the rest of us are the vultures trying to get a little meal.

Soon the horse will be gone, and we will have no choice but to move onto greener pastures..

I don't understand the good people from Detroit. Your economy has been in the dumper for a long time now yet you still elect these power hungry elite socialists to "save you". They are the ones that have sent you to the unemployment line. Now your man Stupak just swayed over to the "mega-tax" side and screwed us all. If I were you in Michigan I would be angry. I had hopes for this guy, thought he was a man of principle. Obama promised an executive order banning abortions...dirty secret is an executive order can not over-rule a law. In other words, if the bill passes it makes the order obsolete. Stupak agreed to get abortion ban words on a piece of paper but it has no effect on the law. I hope he knew that, or maybe I hope he didn't, either he has no idea how these things work OR he just wanted to look like he had principles. (I think it is the latter) So he lied to his people. Do not re-elect him in either case! He is responsible for a lot of people bowing to the pressure of Obama. Sad day in the country. Very sad.

*yawn*

More pot-stirring from the party of "no". The same group of "patriots" that were hurling racial epithets at congress members.

History will decide the outcome of this - not you or your party.

those who are opposing health care reform are simple minded folk with no clue as to how badly they are already enslaved to the insurance companies.

this legislature is designed to break the control of insurance companies. the sad part is their bill had to be so badly watered down in order to pacify the corrupt members of congress which have been bought off by the insurance companies.

Actually, I resent being called simple minded. I just can't see how in the heck we are gonna pay for it.

The same way we pay for everything lately. We hope we can sell off some more of our debt to China (who we aren't on the best of terms with lately).

At least that's the plan.

LOL What? Today doesn't mark the end of anything.

Look, did WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, the Kennedy assassination, Iraq, Iran, 9/11, Y2K, ANYTHING mark the end of this so called America you speak of?

EVERYTHING will go on as it has gone on, man. Get it? Until they're ready... and they're not ready yet.

Neither are you, apparently, with this fear-mongering sh-t. Pull up your freakin pants and get ready to live.

It is interesting the USA is in such a rush to pass a convoluted health care bill and on 22-Mar-2010, Norway recently expanded theirs as well. I wonder how many other countries have recently expanded their health care as well.

Exactly...

If this was the end of America then I bet N. Korea, Iran, etc... all the enemies of America are probably kicking themselves in the behind for not thinking about how they could have toppled America with a healthcare reform.

All their military spending and training for nothing...
