JSOC in Yemen

www.politico.com

U.S. military teams and intelligence agencies are deeply involved in secret joint operations with Yemeni troops who in the past six weeks have killed scores of people, among them six of 15 top leaders of a regional al-Qaeda affiliate, according to senior administration officials.

As part of the operations, Obama approved a Dec. 24 strike against a compound where a U.S. citizen, Anwar al-Aulaqi, was thought to be meeting with other regional al-Qaeda leaders. Although he was not the focus of t

Hold on a second. I thought that Obama wouldn't commit us to Yemen (www.foxnews.com...)? Whatever happened to that?

You can't trust this man. He'll just say one thing and then do another behind your back. We're now in like a what, a 4 front war around Packistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Yemen? That's too many fronts to be fighting on. This war of terror is getting out of hand. It's as people say. There is not really such a thing called a defensive wars. Mostly all wars are pretty much offensive wars.

Now we're just going in and interfering wherever there might be a threat. Whatever happened about fighting the thinking that got us in the Iraq war Obama? It looks like you haven't done that. You're more of the same. We need a real change here. No one out of the major political parties except Ron Paul or maybe Dennis Kuscinich is serious about ending the wars here... we just keep electing these people who say they're against wars... and then we get left in this messy situation that never changes and we get stuck in endless war and we're to pay the price for our foreign policy decisions that the elite makes. I'm sick of it.

There is definately sinister things going down in Yemen and off the coast of Somalia, the supposed pirating doesn't warrant more than 10 warships from countries across the world.

Ask yourself the question what is all that firepower actually for?

This isnt war, its precision sniping of targets.
Bush said that in fighting terrorist organizations...specifically Al Queda, we will respect no borders...we will go in and take out the targets.

This is simply the greater war on terror...if this was in Scotland, same deal...some seals/SAS/etc enter, take out the high priority targets, get out...if a nation complains...the overall answer prepared years and years ago stands true today...aka, suk it. Most simply do not complain though against legit targets..may grumble a bit about the US/UK being in their back yard to begin with, but not very loud. bit like a neighbor you dont like running in your backyard and removing a skunk that took up residence there.

That was a pretty interesting interview, I'm looking forward to more if he does indeed do more like he said he would.

your neighbors shouldnt be in your backyard taking anything out in the first place.

and the US military is hardly a neighborly organization. the war on terror is a sham, and the "suk it" attitude is one of the reasons why the world is a messed up place today.

you cant just go into someone elses country and start killing/blowing people up. wars are won through words and negotiations. you want to win a war quickly, get the people on your side. assassinations and bombing campaigns just harm innocents and drive other people into a fundamentalist mindstate.

if people truly wanted to end terrorism, they would stop messing with other countries and trying to steal resources.
