There is another version of QuakeData coming out tomorrow with side by side plot viewing, and slide shows of plots. The previous versions had no help on how to use all the facilities in 'Webicorder Viewer' - and there are quite a few, so I thought that while you wait for the release you might like to see a pdf version of the help for this section.

Since this is a fairly lengthy document it is probably as well to have it as a pdf in addition to inside the program.

Hey gang check out this LA Times piece, it sounds like it was written for us... very interesting quake monitoring article... great read...

**snippet here..

"Every personal computer would double as a seismic monitor. That MacBook at the coffee house, the one used by the guy pounding out a screenplay? Working to detect ground tremors while its user sips a latte. The aging PC gathering dust in the guest room? Ready to catch the next quake."

Boy does that not bring the imagery of poking an angry beast with a sharp stick!

explosions - in California - to study fault lines/geology of ground... that they say are already unstable.

Well, as said in Shaun of the Dead (when telling other group they were going to the pub as their safe place)...

Good Luck!

Yeah, it's making me uneasy - definitely not eQuake as USGS not reporting any.

If it makes you feel better, RSOE is showing a 2+ in Greece and a 3. and 2. in Turkey

QuakeData 3.5.3 Build 42 Available

You can get the download using the link in my signature. It is about 13Mb download.

If you have already installed QD then you will possibly see an update when you re-start after installing (if this has not happened already). Same goes for a fresh install. This is needed to update the database for the plot stations.

If you are installing from new I recommend that you also download the data file which has been updated to yesterday and contains all the station information.

If you are downloading and installing the latest data file you MUST download and install the registry entries file and unzip it to disk, then double click to install the entries. You should do this |BEFORE you run the program again.

You can also run this if it has already been updated and it will install all the web cam settings and lat/lon shapes and plot settings that I use.

There is still work to be done on the plot viewers, but basically they are all working.

Particularly strong sunlight today.
However, this was as yet no influence on the earthquakes. But the day is not over.

I have just heard back from NASA. They are currently reprocessing the GPS data and will add recent measurements. Here is a Map of Chilean Earthquake Coseismic Displacement Derived from GPS Data.
